Lovely and impressive terraces along day 3 of the Inca trail, even more impressive from the bottom looking up.

Intipata is one of my favourite spots within my 4 days 3 nights Inka trail hike. If you are a fan of llamas, you will find them resting on the terraces. It is also 30 mins of downhill walk to the campsite.

You can see Intipata when you come out of the jungle on the Inca trail, but the size just gets more and more impressive as you continue to hike.

A great penultimate stop on the trail with great examples of terrace farming and a wonderful view of the river valley below.

These ruins were my favourite of the entire hike.
They looked incredible approaching them, and walking throughout them was a sight to behold.
Lots of llamas and alpacas, but incredible views.
If you can do the hike, I highly recommend it.

The view of the mountains above and the Uribamba river below from this place is breathtaking, especially with the 🌇. The work Inca people put into constructing these terraces are amazing.

One of my favorite places on the Inka Trail. We had it all to ourselves during our trek w Llama Path. Unbelievably gigantic feat of engineering. Must see!

This is Inca's town of the sun. The terrace here suggests it was mainly used for agriculture.
