The trip was amazingly long because of the protests we couldn't take the bus and train and we had to get there by private car + 3.5h walking. But because of this all the place was empty. Very few people went in that day because of this and this was a big win for us.
The weather and the place was amazing!!!

Very well maintained and breathtaking! They have so many picture perfect spots. A bit of steep steps - so you need to be decently fit to be able to do the circuit. It took us around 2.5hrs with very generous breaks and stopping for many pictures and tour guide. Highly recommend getting a tour guide (around $80 USD for a private guide) to make the experience more enjoyable and you can soak in the Inka experience and understand the most city. It is very well maintained. It was warm and sunny in the morning. Recommend going early. We till the 7am ticket but reached there around 8am so that fog would have cleared. It was a picture perfect day for us. I heard you can go a little later if there is fog. Make sure to take pictures with the llamas up there.

It's just a delight! The path to the Inca city was very long and difficult, but we got there and did not regret it. Tickets were purchased in advance. The main thing is to plan the route correctly; we traveled bus-train-bus. Don't worry about rain, the view is still beautiful.

We had the 4 day trek to here, the most astonishing end to a wonderful journey. Enjoyed every second of it.
Make sure you get there as earliest as possible; we got there around 6am and spent about 4 hrs.

No wonder it is a world wonder! We visited during the rainy season and yet were lucky to get great views! Definitely carry a rain coat and hat. You never know how long a certain weather will last.

Amazing place but it's breast to come 6 am as the crowds start to put in from 8 am.

But it's magical and definitely worth the visit

Great experience at this iconic site. Important to note it wasn't 'discovered' recently, however, was known to locals for yonks. Be prepared for a decent walk, even if you use the train to get up

Absolutely jawdropping awesome, it is about 15min of stairs to reach the top. You CAN take snacks and water in Plastic bottles they don't search your bag. The drive up with the bus is also beautiful but a little scary as the road is narrow with no barriers and a steep view down. I believe this is the most spectacular wonder of the world. Best to take the 6am tour then there are not a lot of tourists. Come see peru offered an amazing private tour for us.

One of the best experiences I've ever had. After waiting in the clouds for about 2 hours, sun rays finally broke through, and the cloud gates opened, revealing the lost city atop the half tropical mountains.

Even more stunning and interesting than we expected. An amazing climax of the Inca Trail hike. Stopping by the hot springs and taking the train back we’re also great additions to the experience.

A place like no other gives you a vibe lost in time the city and the architecture is amazing. Get up really early so you can see the place without tourists. Also be careful which circuit you will book be aide you can miss the postcard picture. Book at least a month before so you can be sure to find tickets. A must see one in your life!

This is truly one of the wonders of the world. I love just walking through this old city, sitting and absorbing the views, admiring the whole city. Reservations are mandatory, I did Circuit2 for which I made reservation 1.5months before. When I first entered the viewpoint, its all cloudy, 30minutes later it partially cleared up and cloudy again. 1h later, its clear. So be patient for great views. Although clouds themselves add magic to the place. I am attaching pictures at different times for you to see yourself. Also I see Llamas here
Honestly though South American attractions are very underrated and European ones are very overrated.

I loved the experience from start to finish. The whole area is SO beautiful. I wish I'd bought tickets to explore more, but I couldn't really understand what I was booking. You still get the most amazing views, even on the standard entry ticket.

It is not easy to get here, but it is so worth it. Words cannot describe nor can pictures capture the grandeur of this place. Circuit 2 hits most of the highlights and the iconic photo spot. Huayna Picchu is a hard hike but is so worth it.

What an amazing place! Our guide, Eva, was knowledgeable and very helpful throughout our visit, which made it extremely enjoyable. It is important to buy tickets well in advance because there is a limit on the number of visitors allowed per day. We booked a month before and some entry times had already been sold out.

A Timeless Marvel Hidden in the Clouds

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

I recently had the incredible opportunity to visit the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, also known as Santuario Histórico de Machu Picchu, and it was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Nestled high in the Andes Mountains, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a true testament to the ingenuity of the Inca civilization.

From the moment I set foot in this historic sanctuary, I was captivated by the breathtaking beauty that surrounded me. The mystical atmosphere, combined with the well-preserved ruins, made for a truly unforgettable experience. The iconic Machu Picchu, with its intricate stone structures and terraced fields, is a masterpiece of architecture and engineering that continues to leave visitors in awe.

Navigating the site was made seamless with the help of my tour guide, which provided accurate and helpful information about the various trails, viewpoints, and historical points of interest. The guide ensured that I didn't miss any of the must-see spots and allowed me to explore the sanctuary at my own pace.

The panoramic views from Huayna Picchu, the towering peak overlooking Machu Picchu, were nothing short of mesmerizing. The sheer scale of the site, surrounded by lush greenery and shrouded in mist, created a surreal ambiance that transported me back in time.

Despite the high influx of tourists, the site is well-maintained, and the preservation efforts are commendable. The knowledgeable guides on-site shared fascinating insights into the history and significance of Machu Picchu, enhancing the overall experience.

For anyone planning to visit this ancient wonder, I highly recommend booking a tour guide to enhance your journey. It not only helps in navigating the intricate pathways but also provides valuable information about the history and significance of each location within the sanctuary.

In conclusion, the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu is a bucket-list destination that exceeded all my expectations. It's a place where history, culture, and nature converge to create an unparalleled adventure. My visit was made all the more enjoyable and insightful thanks to the assistance of my guide. A truly magical experience that will stay with me forever.

Getting here is half of the experience and the town is unique also (no cars here). The ruins are one of the winners of the world so worthwhile. My group had enough walking at just the ruins, so I'm glad we bought bus tickets rather than doing the hour or two walk to just get the the gate.
