Restaurante Clarita

Note: I gave atmosphere the top rating because we love run down places with wholesome and tasty food.
This is a true Mom & Pop place where the TV runs in the restaurant, the man watches for the needs of the customers and serves the food his wife is cooking.
We went for the fried chicken with beans & rice and were delighted it was on tonight's menu. The only beer choice was Balboa. They had choices of soda and also bottled water for sale.
The prices are awesome; almost unheard of.

It's a locals mom & pop joint with the only affordable food in Isla Contadora. They don't speak English & there just one choice-- whatever they're serving that day. Lol! I went for dinner and got Pollo,Arroz, y Frijoles. There was a little bit of salad,( but I don't eat uncooked veggies in many places in the world& only bottled water). The food was tasty! Probably going to eat there at least one more time while here bc most places are $20 for a burger or $28 for fish and shrimp. There's a Mercado directly across and one around the corner--buy yourself some water and snacks.
Travelers should always support local people whenever possible.

Lunch here is a one-item menu, meaning you’ll get whatever is cooking that day. Today it was a tasty steak and grilled veggies dish with the usual rice/beans sides; two of those plates and a pair of Balboas was a whopping $16, making this probably the cheapest meal on the island. Highly recommend!

We had 2 plates of chicken/rice/beans/salad with 1 coke and 1 panama beer and it was only 16 USD. The food came very fast, but there isn't a menu or anything. I think they just give you whatever they make that day.

Very good, we showed up for lunch around 2pm when most other restaurants were closed, we asked if they were open and he asked us if we wanted chicken and rice. It was delicious and well priced- exactly what we needed.

This is where the locals go to eat and the food here is unpretentious and fantastic. Incredibly tasty and inexpensive and served with a smile.

Great local restaurant. Eat here if you’d like an abuelita to feed you well!

Recomiendo este Restaurante, sirven comida del día, éramos una familia y cada uno de los platos nos salió en $6, Una comida completa. Y estaba demasiado rica la comida

This was actually breakfast today at 10:30 or so... 1 hour off the ferry and they fed us this. Whaaat?
It was AWESOME !
Many visits here over the years. Consistent! I dig this place! Roosters & all.
