Wow… What a beautiful place to spend a few days!

The public areas were awesome, great restaurant and beach area.

ALL of the staff were very helpful, especially Eric who answered many questions and helped us enjoy our stay.

It takes an effort to get there, but it was worth the effort for my wife and I to relax and enjoy the pristine beach.

Had a fantastic weekend on Isla Contadora! Jeannette and her staff at Mar y Oro made it so enjoyable! The hotel is small (15 rooms) and they make you feel like family. The view was beautiful from the restaurant and when you go down to the beach there are complimentary chairs, towels, & umbrellas as well as a full bar just 10 steps from your chair! Jeannette oriented us to the island and we enjoyed walking to explore, swimming at another beach, seeing the annual canoe race, and booked a snorkeling excursion with a local fisherman she recommended (Marino - had 4 sets of gear for us, took us to 3 different locations, was less expensive and completely customizable rather than booking through a tour company).
The wait staff at the restaurant and bar were excellent! A golf cart picks you up from the ferry and takes you back for departure.

The property used to be a private residence until it was converted into this almost boutique style hotel. The main building guest rooms are very nice, but bathrooms are on the smaller side. The guest rooms that were added on after the conversion are a bit bigger; However, they don't provide as nice of an ocean view. The staff was very attentive and food was amazing!

The beach is very clean and beautiful.
The beach bar and resturant provde a nice view of the water. Be aware, the undertow can be quite strong during tide changes. Shore break waves should be taken seriously if traveling with small childern. I highly recommend this property. You won't be disappointed!

Lovely. Right on the beach. We could hear the waves crashing in our room. Beautiful room with everything we needed. Kind and friendly staff who were patient with us non-Spanish speaking folk. Quiet. Plenty of lounge chairs for all. Peaceful. We walked all around the small island and felt safe.

I had stayed at this place three years in a row. This hotel is listed as a tree start hotel on many websites but has a 5-star service. You will have access to the best restaurants and services on this island. They willingly go way beyond normal expectations and try to accommodate your requests.

The hotel is in great condition. I stayed in this hotel 10+ years ago and it’s something completely different now. Great service. Great breakfast. Open coffee/ te all day long. Beach towels. Great restaurant. Large rooms and very spacious bathroom (room #5).

This place it’s unique! Beautiful view, and relaxing atmosphere. Located in Contadora Island in Panama. Customer service was great and food was delicious!!!

The island is beautiful and the location cannot be better, but the staff really makes this place amazing. From breakfast to dinner the food was great. I had never visited Panama and had no idea what to expect, this place is a little slice of perfection. If you have any hesitation, as I did, book your trip with confidence.

Excellent hotel. Very happy with what we got for our money. The food was a bit hit or miss in terms of value for money but it was all delicious. Clean and functional although basic room which was kindly cleaned for us while we were out. Amazing nearby beach ( maybe the best on the island? ). Hotel Mar y Oro made our long weekend getaway on Contadora one to remember - thank you!!

The hotel is beautiful! The staff is very friendly and courteous. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The restaurant is great. Breakfast is excellent, with various fruits, fresh pressed juice and and a great choice of breakfast menus. The lunch and dinner menus are superb - I never had a better fish filet, and the stir-fried vegetables were out of this world. All in all, it was a great and unforgettable vacation!

I truly loved the entire experience here … I was picked up at the ferry landing and taken to the hotel, check in was a breeze and my room was ready when I arrived and I was even given a very nice upgrade, the beach in front of the hotel and the water were perfect, the hotel staff very accommodating and attentive and the room was very comfortable. There are some ongoing improvements being made but that did not create a distraction for me and it seems like the place will be even better in the future.

The hotel is absolutely AMAZING! The food is incredible, staff is fantastic, the room is lovely and the view is to die for. The beautiful beach is the cherry on top, cannot recommend it enough!!!

Beautiful hotel right in front of the best beach in the island! I stayed in a massive room with a balcony and it's one of the nicest stays I've experienced. So peaceful and stunning. I loved seeing hummingbirds near the restaurant of the hotel as they have feeders for them. I want to go back!!

I can't say enough about the staff of this place.

This is a small boutique island hotel and everyone here went out of their way to give us a "resort experience" for lack of a better term. I caught some names but I don't want to do anyone injustice because really every single person was great.

Also, I have to say, I was really impressed with the lunch and dinner service. Someone was punching way above their weight class in the kitchen.

It wasn't a problem for us, but just an FYI - coffee and breakfast runs until 10am, lunch from 12-3, and dinner from 6:30-8:30.

The staff are amazing. The view is amazing. It’s like a private beach and hotel for your self. Food is amazing! I love it here and 100% recommended.

Mar Y Oro has been an amazing holiday destination! Apart from the beautiful Island, the rooms are tidy, staff is very friendly and it has a perfect location at the beach. Fully recommend!

I went here to spent time with my parents. I was very happy because they really enjoyed the place so much that they want to return. The hotel is small, but cosy. The staff very helpful with my parents and really friendly. The food was extremely good in terms of quality, quantity and price. I noticed in their flavors that the products were fresh. The facilities of the hotel are close to the beach and as you can see in the pictures the beach is clean, with white sand and blue sea. The hotel also for a small fee they provide you with a chair and umbrella.
