I visited The Pantry last week and I had the most amazing evening. fantastic beer selection and atmosphere, Ewoud the owner has a magical ability to be able to pair beers with foods, I bought 5 foods from England with me and he managed to pair them all with beers/meads from his fridges.

If your in the Haarlem area and and enjoy Craft Beers the get down to The Pantry the knowledge and service are like no where else I have experienced.

Really personable and knowledgeable shop manager. Knows his stuff top to bottom and has some interesting and rare stock. A must visit if you're into your beers and in town!

Must visit place if you're an enjoyer of craft beers! Stock changes weekly with brews from all over the world, and every week the owner will gladly help you to find the beers you love and enjoy.

Awesome vibrant beer shop run by the Captain himself who is playing his AAA game in passionate service, advise, curiousity and knowledge. Beers for all wallets and styles, snob to funk. Also for events and tastings! Go get!

In addition to the incredible shop that's open during the day, Ewoud (the owner) also periodically closes the shop to offer high-quality beer pairings. These pairings will absolutely blow you out of the water. Think vanilla ice cream with caramelised soy sauce served with an apple strudel doppelbock. Or beer and pickles from the neighboring sandwhich shop, Mama Mojo's; these are not with your average pickles and or beers! Go for a fun time, a great selection of beers that will always surprise you, and for the stellar crowd Ewoud attracts to this Haarlem hidden gem.

A small and cozy shop in the centre of Haarlem, but oh boy does it feel like a pirate ship full of loot! Looking for something hoppy? Got you. Something sour? Check. A really thick stout? Look no further. The captain has it all!

Even if you don’t know what to choose, just ask the captain and he’ll will for sure help you to find the beer you are looking for! Your taste buds will go on a wild boat ride with the beers from The Captain’s Pantry.

Lovely outdoor seating and great service. The espresso was exceptionally good and the donut very tasty. We will return to sample the local craft beer.

Great store with an owner who has deep knowledge of what he is selling. Always something new, unique and tasty to find. If you're able to attend a tasting (they happen every so often) I highly recommend them. Great fun with pairings of bites and beer that seem ridiculous sometimes but they're always very tasty and thought provoking.

Love (!!!) this place. Its classic, weird, familiar, experimental and fun. The fibe is there, and so are the beers! You'll always find something you like. A recommendation for all who like beer.

More than great beer selection. A lot of your sweet stouts and porters, but most of all many fridges filled with fresh IPA's and other cooled goodies. Staff is really friendly and helpful. And last but not least they have awesome coffee and donuts. One of my favourite beer shops in the area.

It does not matter if you come there often or for the first time. The owner gives you a warm welcome. He knows real well what he’s doing and selling. I’m a regular customer and every time when I walk in it feels like coming home.

My favorite place to get a nice relaxed coffee. The music is always good and interesting and the selection of donuts is grand. I am also a big fan of the beer selection you can buy here in bottles and cans. Great place for advice about the beers and always something new.

Weekly deliveries of a bunch of fresh beers, including an abundance of juicy IPAs and decadent stouts from exciting breweries from Eastern Europe makes me always come back here. Plus the abundance of Uiltjes, fresh and aged favourites, of course. Great staff too. Even the music is great. Highly recommend.
