Go here if you want to experience unique Dutch landscapes. From dunes to forests, lakes and wetland, you have find it all. If you're lucky, you can possibly spot some self-feeding wisent (the European bison) in the South Western part. Check for the breeding season though, as the area will be less accessible. You can explore the park on foot, by bike and even by horse. I recommend sandproof shoes for the hike.

My weekly run and dip, all year round. The nature is just wonderful here, wild horses. Cows and so many birds.

Open spaces and perfect for weekends.

We went over with a group of friends and absolutely enjoyed the time spent here.

Dogs are not allowed so please be careful and check before you come here.

We walked around a lot, while kids went into the water and had fun

There were a lot of families, friends, elders and children here. There is something for everyone in this park.

I went for the first time, I highly recommend visiting the visitors center first! A very nice worker recommended me the blue hiking trail, and omg it was the best!! For my first experience hiking and in the park was amazing, very beautiful, the beach is also nice, strategic hydration points, very very clean, would definitely come again and it’s good for kids and family too.

Fantastic and different place, so near the city. Animals, plants, dunes and a perfect bike way. Very good.

Pretty unique national park with a mix of different scenes, a lake with a beach, a safari-esque area, forest, field. The entrance has a nice restaurant and playground with some pretty lights.

This was a beautiful clean and peaceful place to come explore. I arrived alone by Uber and enjoyed some hiking on the sand dunes. I cooled off by taking a dip in the Het Wed. It was cool clean water. There were many families with children enjoying the park.

Such a nice natural park with two lakes, oceanfront, a pavillion and forest areas. Best thing to do in this park is hiking then getting lost around the dunes. Entrance is free, there is paid parking for cars. One of the lakes which is called Het Wed is close by the entrance and open for swimming. Around entrance there is a cafè next to car park and multiple playgrounds for children. If you are an avid hiker then look for ~12 km long hiking routes on Strava.
Spending a wholr day visiting lots of perks in this park may be fun for families with children and solo adventurers as well.

Such a lovely place! Filled with beautiful landscapes and wonderful energy, this Park is a perfect place to go to on a day off or when you want to enjoy solitude in Nature. I’m very grateful I made it a part of my trip to the Netherlands. A perfect breath of air after a few days in Amsterdam ❤

A beautiful natural space on the crowded central Netherlands (North Holland). Small lakes, sand dunes, pine forests, birds and European bisons. Perfect bike paths and tons of walking paths going everywhere, outlook points, services in the visitors' center, easily reachable by public transport from Haarlem or Zandvoort-aan-zee. Too many people if weather is nice in weekends and holidays.

Beautiful views. You can feel very disconnected from the hustle and bustle of city life here, and very connected to nature. Very large place with various marked walking, cycling, bridle paths. If you're lucky you may see some lovely cattle. Can swim in and relax by the lake, explore the sand dunes, walk through the trees, climb up to a lookout and see all the way to the ocean. My favourite place in the Netherlands so far. And only 20 mins on bus from Haarlem station. Wear good shoes, although there is a path throughout it is uneven in some places. On hot days sun cream and water is a must as the wide open areas can feel like a desert. There is a visitor centre and a children's play area at the entrance. Good for birdwatching. Some parts come close to Bloemendaal beach and a nearby campsite.

Dune landscape at its best. Good for walks and bicycle rides. Great educational centre with interesting exhibitions and activities (plus small seating area for a hot chocolate, coffee or tea with a slice of cake).

Nice park to forget Amsterdam at only a few train stations away.. as a tourist its 8 euros for the train ticket to go and come back but the entrance to the park is free at least. Beaches to relax and you can spot wildlife.

This is a wonderful large national park near to Zandvoort. You can bike and walk here a lot between the very beautiful nature arround. It is very silence. You here no cars. To have a nice view and to meditate one of the best places. Especially in the night it is at best to just watch the sky and see the stars shining bright. One of the: Best places in the Netherlands!

Very nice national park near Zandvoort and Harlem. We went there on a business day in the morning, so there were lots of school groups around.

I guess the people spread out if you move along the paths, especially if you continue to walk some miles into the huge area.

You can go swimming at a small lake near the entrance, there is a tidy restaurant with lots of organic (and tasty) food and a nice gift shop.

Couldn't see much wildlife for ... kid reasons ... ;).

Stayed a night in a carpark here. Beautiful location with walks in the park and the beach about 1k across the road, also a good walk to Zandvort.
