Absolutely incredible. First time in Amsterdam and if I ever come back this will definitely be on my list. Felt super comfortable as a solo diner. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Overall a must try. Really friendly staff as well, some of the best service I’ve had while being in Europe. Thank you!

Lovely restaurant with great food.
Drink lovers must go as they had a good variety of drinks. Nice atmosphere, especially if you'te lucky enough to get a seat outside in front of the canal.

A gorgeous restaurant inside and out! We had lunch outside the first time we were there and then returned for dinner on our last day in Amsterdam. The food is chef’s kiss. The staff are wonderful.

Approximately halfway along Leliegracht, between Keizersgracht and Herengracht canals, is De Luwte (the shelter), a charming French restaurant, with Parisian decor and a warm and inviting ambience.

This brasserie has two adjoining dining areas, a well stocked bar, and a spacious outside terrace overlooking the canal, with its recently built waterside gardens, specially created to encourage butterflies and as an inner city wildlife haven.

Stepping inside, you encounter a splendid fireplace, illuminated by dozens of candles in its hearth. Olive trees are scattered throughout, creating delightful al fresco fine dining surroundings, especially when the weather outside does not allow. It's a great place to unwind while watching the procession of boats sailing past the entrance

The staff are friendly and attentive, without being obtrusive. Start your dining experience with one of the house coctails or mocktails, with enchanting names such as Pornstar Martini, Tonight's Full Moon, Kiss Me at Midnight and Mint to Be. I can't recall the exact name of my favourite; it's Dirty something - a delicious combination of dark rum, ginger beer, lime, and figs.

The wine list features a superb selection of curated wines from the vineyards of Argentina, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, Portugal, and the USA, available by glass or bottle. Lovers of bubbles can choose from the offerings of Moët & Chandon and Veuve Cliquot.

There's a mouth-watering selection of entrées typically featuring the likes of fresh oysters, steak and tuna tartaar, burrata, beetroot and goats cheese salad, carpaccio, aubergine salad Middle Eastern style and seared scallops.

The main menu is seasonal and comes in meat, fish and vegetarian variations, each limited to a maximum of four or five dishes, enabling the chef and kitchen brigade to prepare their culinary delights to perfection, accompanied by side dishes of choice. This is fine dining at its best.

Desserts include Pornstar Martini Cheesecake, classic homemade tiramisu, and the oh so delectable Baked Alaska, flambéed at the table, with Grand Marnier

Pricing is affordable, with De Luwte offering immaculate service and sensational cuisine in unique surroundings. Once you've tried this brasserie, you'll keep wanting to come back. Reservations are highly recommended.

Lovely dining experience! The best tuna I have had in my life. For the service l would recommend to take one more person because one person cannot hand everything. The atmosphere is nice but only if you do not want privacy because the table are literally 1 cm distance from one another.

Excellent time at Brasserie De Luwte. The cocktails are amazing and very well-served. The lunch menu is different than the dinner menu but we still found what we were craving. The burratta toast was really good and the burger too (but a little bit overcooked for us). Great service and nice atmosphere !
PS : the service was a little slow but there were only two waitresses and we were not in a rush.

Truly a delightful experience! We were in Amsterdam for 4 days and this was one of the absolute best dinners we had during our fantastic stay in gorgeous and welcoming Amsterdam, NL. Let me preface by saying that the hostesses and waitresses went out of their way to accommodate us. We came in one afternoon for an early dinner, but they were short-staffed in the kitchen that day and weren't able to sit us, however, they made a reservation for us for the following day. We were coming back from a full day in Brussels, Belgium and had a delay due to railroad issue, because of that we were an hour late for our reservation @ De Luwte. Girls accommodated us without any issues and we were pleasantly surprised that we were seated so swiftly. Service was great as everyone helped each other out. Our cocktails were out of this world, especially the one with passion fruit. I had P-STAR MARTINI and TONIGHTS FULL MOON, my husband went for his usual, Moscow Mule, - all drinks were superb! The food though... where do I start? We ordered 2 appetizers, Spicy Tuna Tatare and Tuna Tataki. I honestly cannot tell you which one was better as they were both absolutely delicious. Our younger son loved his DUCKBREAST, my husband and I opted in for TRUFFLE RAVIOLI and LEMON RAVIOLI, and our older son chose RAINBOW SUSHI ROLL and SHRIMP TEMPURA SUSHI ROLL - all were super tasty! Sushi were so yummy we had to order another round. For dessert we got BAKED ALASKA and FAMOUS P-STAR MARTINI CHEESECAKE - OMG - the best! It has been over a month since we went to Amsterdam and visited Brasserie De Luwte, but we still think of this incredible city hoping to return soon so we can experience more amazing food this brasserie has to offer. This place is a must when in Amsterdam. Please make a reservation, you will not be disappointed!

We dropped by after visiting Anne Frank’s house. It was late on Monday evening and the restaurant was buzzing and welcoming. Despite it being busy, service was fast and friendly. The food was divine, presentation beautiful and ambiance perfect 🤩

Loved the atmosphere, great for date nights. Food was good, wish there were more vegetarian options in the menu. The live candle set romantic mood. Service was good.

beautiful place!! the cocktails are amazing, i got the pornstar martini and it was sooo yummy and so pretty too!! i didn’t know you had to order food to be served but they let me stay and enjoy my cocktail and then leave since i wasn’t told. the food menu sounds really yummy it’s just quite pricey which is why i didn’t eat there. definitely worth the stop and it’s great for groups because then you can get the tower of cocktails!!!

This may be the prettiest brasserie I walked in to. They did not hold back on the Christmas decors at all! It is a place you walk in to and just feel happy! And you will be happier to get some drinks - they make intricate drinks here! We got “at the fireplace” which was hot chocolate, baileys, roasted marshmellow! That was a delight to drink! Would definitely come back for more!

The food quality is outstanding. Best cheesecake I've had in s long time! The only improvement i would suggest is a quicker service, other than that it earned its 5/5 stars!

The dining experience was amazing. I had pasta and some of cocktails, both were delicious. Also I should mention the atmosphere of the restaurant when you are eating outside, that’s the real feel of traveling in Amsterdam

Really nice spot. They do these cool looking towers of Aperol Spritz or other cocktails. I had the sushi roll and coffee, all fresh and staff was friendly.

One of the most unique liquor towers I’ve ever seen. It caught the attention of everyone walking past us.
