We ordered the nasi rames with beef rendang, sayur lodeh, telur balado and tempe orek. Best Indonesian food out of the three we tried over the Easter weekend spent in Amsterdam, tastes so authentic, reminiscent of homecooked meal back home in Indonesia.

Met the owner, the kindest uncle who offered to heat up the food extra warm - wrapped in aluminum foil to keep the contents warm for when we enjoy it in the Eurostar back home.

This was my first time trying Indonesian food and selected this location based on Anthony Bourdain's recommendation. The lady running the restaurant was very helpful and spoke good English. As we had never tried this food, she gave us food suggestions. Food was delicious. There is only a couple tables here and it is mostly a take out restaurant, but overall seemed to be quite popular.

Freshly cooked food and if you are lucky, you get a table by the canal. A near-perfect meal that would have been even better if they could also sell you a beer.

I dont normally review places, especially restaurants, but this place was exactly what I needed. Unpretentious, delicious food that is easily packed and eaten. The owners were very nice and helpful when I came barreling in late at night looking to try something new. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for affordable food! The spicy beef she suggested to me was great. And my takeaway box was wrapped up like a cute little present. Made me want to go to Indonesia it tasted so good.

Great food. Not intended to eat here but on my way to a cafe nearby, I accidentally saw this restaurant and packed some take-away meals. Will certainly be back or order next time I am in town.

One of the best Indonesian takeaways in the Jordaan and around the corner from where I lived. I'm half Indonesian and often crave Asian food, this is our go-to place to get us a nice meal for a decent price. The Pepesan Ikan (spicy fish) is my absolute favourite.

Absolutely delicious Indonesian kitchen in the heart of Amsterdam. Had delicious spicy dish that felt like loving myself. Recommend.

The take-out meal was fantastic! As others have noted, the gentleman who owns this place was super nice and helpful in assisting us with our order. He has owned it for over 30 years, and his wife does the cooking. We got a dish with rice, one meat (sweet beef, which was so tender and not fatty), several vegetable sides, and an egg. Everything was so tasty, and the meal was 11.5 euros and served 2 of us! We were able to get exactly what we wanted to try and were so happy with everything. A few locals were getting their take-away orders right before us which is always a validation. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

You'll be seriously missing out if you don't eat here. Great variety in 'compose your own box' - good for veggie and meat eaters. If you like Asian food but haven't tried Indonesian (like me) just give it a go. And the owner is great :)

Delicious and affordable. This was our first time having Indonesian food, so we followed the reviews... which were spot on. So happy that we stopped by here for a quick meal. Had noodles with sweet chicken and 2 types of vegetables (half cabbage & half broccoli). The small box was the perfect size to share... if you're really hungry, go for the large.

Super friendly owner and splendid tasty food. We got the fried rice, cabbage, sweet beef in a small box and soya rice, broccoli, and slightly hot beef in a large box. For dessert, it was the tiered cake. All this for under 20€ and some quality conversation with the owner. Much credit to him providing such pleasant food from a small shop.
The shop is right next to the canal, so keep your eyes open, plus check the hours so you can catch some lovely Indonesian flavors.

Really tasty fast food at a reasonable price. Spicy, tasty goodness in a little cardboard box. The owner is lovely and goes next door to buy you a beer if you want one.

Family-run Indonesian take-out restaurant. Friendly service, a cute elderly couple are in charge. Good variety of tasty dishes. You point at the food that you would like to be added to your dish. Take rames with nasi (fried rice) or bami (fried noodles) and select the toppings. Tip: order portions of sateh sauce (with peanut butter), atjar (sweet and sour pickles), seroundeng (tasty mix of peanuts and fried coconut bits), and emping (fried smashed melindjo nuts, slightly bitter) with your food.

Amazing food! The chicken melts in your mouth and the tempeh is perfect.

Great food, generous portions and reasonably priced. Doesn't hurt that the owners are such nice people. Highly recommend!

The best, most authentic Indonesian food served by the nicest people. My boyfriend and I get takeout from here frequently and are never disappointed!

Looks like a hole in the wall but the food is the best indonesian I've had. (And I love this cuisine). My gf and I used to eat here almost every week.
