Undoubtedly the most beautiful bookstore in Amsterdam. Even though it’s tiny, it has a great selection of eclectic books, especially Taschen and Monocle. Love this place!

Beautiful shop, friendly staff, pretty wrapped gifts(very good location to get a gift) and a big collection of books. This is a great shop to buy a coffee table book.

Easily the chicest bookstore in the Dam! They specialize in art/photography books and carry a wide variety. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Gunifort - very pleasant gentleman. Highly recommend!

If you love books focused on photography, fashion, travel, lifestyle, cuisine, interior design, architecture, and graphic design, MENDO should be at the top of your Amsterdam itinerary. It’s often dubbed a ‘candy store for book aficionados’. MENDO curate the most beautiful and intriguing books, and the store’s interior is a masterpiece in itself. They also have a few collector’s editions on display in the store. My favorite bookstore ever. Also, special shoutout to Mendo’s website: your mouse cursor gets turned into various objects (an iPad, a tomato, a pair of glasses, etc.) to give you a sense of how big the books you’re ordering are! The attention to detail in-store and online is remarkable.

Incredible book selection. Wow! I could spend an entire day here! Plus, the woman who works there is so lovely and has amazing information on every book they stock. I love this place.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! This is one of the most beautiful, special bookstores I have ever been to. Very difficult to choose and very difficult to not buy everything! The shop owners are friendly, ready to help and answered all of my silly questions about book stands. Also— they offer coffee and wine, so sit and stay awhile! Will be back on every trip to support this incredible local business.

I love this bookstore, it is cozy, has the nicest selection of coffeetable books, and they even produce their own books. Staff always helpful & friendly, been here several times already. Such a nice location too!

Located on Berenstraat in the middle of the 9 streets, Mendo is an upmarket flagship bookstore. It has a very unique interior. The walls are not from brick, but thousands of black books creating a distinctive ambience. Books are in all shapes and sizes with a number of publications being larger than some coffee tables.

Mendo curates on various topics such as culinary books, fashion, graphic design, interior and architecture, lifestyle and travelling ensuring that only the best and most relevant publications are on offer.

Described as a candy store for book aficionados, it is easy to spend hours here browsing through the pages of the many beautiful books. A large collection of collector's editions are on display. Staff are extremely helpful and all purchases are gift wrapped.

The place is amazing. The design of the store is stunning and the quality of the books (mainly about photography) matches it. It's like walking into a free photography exposition as you can freely read the books.

Probably one of the most beautiful book shops in the world. Come here for photography, art, architecture and lifestyle books. I wish I could live here.

Best shop in Amsterdam for book and photography lovers. Everytime i visit explore more interesting things. Prices are not expensive compare with the quality. It s in the middle of the nineth streets (de negen straats). Online order is also possible. Warm and cosy atmosphere. It feels like an art gallery more than a bookstore.
