Ordered a book for delivery through AbeBooks and Kok Antiquariaat were great to deal with. They provided me tracking information through email, and Sascha was very nice to deal with.

Even ordering internationally, I would certainly order again!

Got in because were curious. However found a hidden gem instead. The second floor especially! I found this amazing 1945’s National Geographic! Not too mention, the antiques books and printing that they have really brings you back in a time machine ⏳⌛ definitely will come again

English, looking for WW2 in English, my chances are slim, but this is still one of the best bookshops I know, over two jam packed floors.

I have shopped at this wonderful second-hand bookstore since the late sixties, and hope to do so for many years to come. I love the atmosphere, the friendly people, and the fact that you can always find a good book, a beautiful map, or a book-related gadget here. Browsing is fun, in part because the store features a collection of old typewriters, ink bottles, statues of writers and readers, old postcards, and book-related posters. In a downtown Amsterdam that has been nearly destroyed by overtourism and the shlock businesses that cater to the hordes, Kok is a place of refuge. A priceless store, with priceless people. Absolutely wonderful!

Want a special old book? Most likely they'll have it. They made my day, years, life(!) finding a book I've been looking for for years but was not willing to pay €1800- 2000 plus for and found it here for a fraction. Plus the interior/ exterior alone makes it worth a visit. Bless Kok antiquariaat, in business since 1946 and there's no question as to why in this digital bit age. A treasure to be cherished and visited. Very helpful too once the ice breaks. I actually had to return after I saw the treasure in the window after my initial purchase. Dank voor de service en geweldige keuze en smaak.

The amount of valuable literature in there is amazing. I am a fanatic of vinatge books, and they have by far the most impressive collection i have seen. The people working there are warm and welcoming as well, so i will definitely return.

Very cool looking place, but I was honestly pretty lost in there. There were some cool looking bags in the window that drew me in, but I went in only to look around. Turns out I'm not really an antique book kind of person. There were some framed pieces of what I think were damaged pages from various books that could make for a cool souvenir, though.

Excellent International transaction with a bookshop that cares about its clients and to what becomes of their books once your order has been processed. After collection by PostNL, my books fell into the hands of a totally unreliable French mail distributer (Colis Privé) and it became a circus as to know where the parcel was and when it would be delivered - lies and contradictory messages from Colis Privé. Sascha activated all the search channels and eventually got the parcel to me. Well done !

Two floors of well organized second hand books, with numerous English and German titles mixed in with the Dutch, plenty to find for the non-Dutch reader. Well lit with lots of windows on the upper floor, plentiful stools and ladders available to aid browsing. Knowledgeable staff who knows what they have on the floor. Fair prices.

This store is really special and unique. Right on the Damstraat and 2mins walk from the dam square this bookstore is truly one of a kind. You can find dutch books and English books on all subjects history art novels kids books and more. They have newer books but also old antique books too. They also sell a lot of prints of maps, plants anatomy, art and Amsterdam specific pictures. A really great place to pick up a truly special Amsterdam souvenir. The decor is also really cool lots of old typewriters and big books and figurines reading. Also they are now selling purses and wallets with classic books on them. This is my favorite spot in Amsterdam

One of my favourite places to go in amsterdam. The store contains reprints, originals of all kinds of books, maps, magazines and so forth. Don't forget to go up stairs as there are an additional floor full of old books including original national geo magazines from 100 years ago. You can really find some good finds in this place!!
