Ambassador City Centre Hotel

Me and my boyfriend stayed here after our apartment in Haarlem was unfortunately flooded. We initially booked for 2 nights but ended up staying for an additional night. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location is great, right in the centre and next to a beautiful cathedral/church. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby as well as the one joined to the hotel and plenty of places that could deliver from uber eats such as KFC and McDonald's. Very close to supermarkets and high street shopping too. Very easy to get public transport as many bus stops nearby so didn't take long to get to Haarlem train station, plus only a short walk there too. TV had enough channels to give us entertainment but no 'smart' options like streaming services, which would have been good but could easily do without. Unfortunately did notice about 10-20 pharaoh ants during our stay but they're harmless and apparently quite common in large buildings in this country so can't really be helped, just freaked me out a bit cause I'm not a fan of bugs! Every afternoon when we were back at our apartment sorting out water damage we put the 'please clean our room' sign on the door and didn't really know if it'd get done because of the time of day but our bins were always emptied, dirty towels and empty toilet rolls replaced, and toilet and sink cleaned. They did also make the beds up nicely for us one day but the sheets weren't changed, which is fine as we weren't staying long anyway and we were just happy to get the bins changed really so anything else was a bonus. All in all, I would definitely stay there again because the location and price and availability all seems well suited to us and we had no real problems while staying there. If you're a smoker I will also add that although the building is of course smoke-free, there is a little ashtray bin outside the front doors for that and if it's no too windy the table umbrellas will be up for the restaurant terrace and have heaters so you have a bit of shelter for that too.

Excellent location in the heart of Haarlem. Great dining options nearby. Comfortable rooms. The hotel does not have A/C, but fans are available. Hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. They do allow luggage storage on-site for early arrivals or late departures.

Easy to locate in the town square across from the big cathedral and easily walkable from the train station with or without rolling luggage. In a safe area with lots of eating options all around. Grocery stores and pharmacies are nearby also if needed. We walked all around town and never saw a parking garage. Hotel staff was highly professional yet extremely friendly and always attentive and helpful. The breakfast was a bit expensive but so convenient and really good including gluten free bread upon request. The buffet included scrambled eggs sausage bacon beans pancakes and even veggie meatballs. This was on top of the usual European cold cuts and cheeses and pastries. Again the staff was exceptional. The hotel room was well heated except from the bathroom which was always very cold. Beds and bedding was comfortable and clean. We loved the hotel restaurant decor and enjoyed the location.

The staff was extremely friendly and ready to answer any questions. The location is excellent at the beautiful city center of Haarlem. Easy to find, convenient to explore the city and in walking distance to the train station. Price was fair, compared with the hotels with the same (high) quality.

Great location. Not too far from the train station and plenty of restaurants in the area.

You can look out at the cathedral from your bedroom window facing the front of the hotel. Service very accommodating. I love it when reception attendants say "yes", and make things happen. Also nice bar area. Makes me want to go back to Haarlem just to stay at this hotel again!

Hotel in central Haarlem, close to everything like cafe's, restaurants, bars, shop's etc, also next to train station that takes about 15 min to Amsterdam.

Hotel itself has friendly staff a great restaurant and bar attached. Rooms are clean with large conformable beds and good shower.

We stayed here for 5 nights - we very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel! We got a double room with a lovely view of the church, we could hear the church bells each night which we both enjoyed. With regards to the actual room, the mattress was firm and very comfy to sleep on and the shower room was spacious. We could not of asked for better at such a good price.

Truly exceptional service makes this a great place to stay in Haarlem. A great location just a short walk to the train station and very close to Schiphol. If you want an ultra modern and spacious place to stay, this might not be the place for you. But if you value amazing service and hospitality, you won't be disappointed at all. We stayed here when we first arrived in the Netherlands before traveling around Germany. Originally we had not planned on coming back to Haarlem, but it turns out, this is a wonderful city to be in so we returned to Haarlem and stayed more nights at the Ambassador Hotel. It was a great choice.

First of all my reviews 5 star to hotel staff and restaurant staff, they are super friendly, helpful , always with smiling face. I want to say thank you from here to them. About hotel,we booked 1 family room for 1 night and 4 nights comfort room. family room was big 3 double bed, comfort room sigle or double bed option. Right in the city center, room was clean, breakfast is optional. Around the hotel you will see many food options also hotel restaurant and bar is good. Walking distance to every where, shopping, bars, boat tours, restaurants. price is normal but on the weekend higher then another day's. Definitely recommend .

Update: After more talking to the front desk about the wifi issues they allowed me to move rooms. The new room is day and night different from the first... better ventilation, feels roomy, and it has a church view.

I also found out they do room service from the Governor restaurant.

The hotel was nice and the location is perfect. Super super central. 10~15 minutes from the main station and surounded by dozens of bars, cafes, shops, and restaurants.

My room was unable to connect to the wifi due to a very weak signal. The hotel staff let me work in the lobby which was quite uncomfortable and awkward, but the best solution to the problem. I had some issues ordering drinks from the hotel's connected restaurant while in the lobby and received some remarkably rude service from one of the bar tenders. One server (nice Filipina lady) made up for it and found me a spot at the bar to sit so I could finish my work.

The room itself was okay. It lacked proper ventilation and it'd get quite humid and a bit smelly after showers but opening the windows for a bit solved that.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful overall.

We didn't have a great start there, as the room we got was different from what we expected (because of booking translation, not because of the hotel itself) but thankfully the staff was amazing and helped us find a solution. The kindness and professionalism of the staff made our stay very enjoyable.
The room we eventually got was axing and we are very thankful to the staff.
The breakfast was great, served by very kind ladies.

Extremely good location. An older building, but pretty well renovated. The staff speak English pretty well and are quite nice (for being Dutch, I guess). Hotel was clean and breakfast ok. The elevator was kind of finicky, so prepare to walk stairs. The cathedral nearby has bells that night wake you up.

Absolutely fantastic place. Great staff really friendly and helpful. The best breakfast ever. Will definitely go back for a weekend break.

Location was absolutely fantastic. We were right in the heart of the city and even had a view of the Grote Kerk. The room was great. Super clean and comfortable. And the staff was helpful in making sure we were all set up and good. They also had our room ready early so we could store our bags before hitting the town.

This place was great, perfect location! Right in the middle of the Harlem square outside the church. Breakfast was normal European breakfast with extra good Dutch yogurt, just buy at the time you pay for your room.. wayyy cheeper. We loved Harlem, more than Amsterdam, it has all the beauty, food, canals, everything except the crowds and tourist traps.

Ideally placed by the Grote markt , clean rooms , comfortable bed , tea& coffee in rooms, shower ....basic rooms yet nice and clean , cleaned daily with clean towels and bedding , staff ! All welcoming and polite . Plenty of bars and restaurants , few next to hotel , nearest coffeeshop within 100 yards ...Nice hotel in Haarlem ....would book again .

The Ambassador City Center Hotel in Haarlem Netherlands is in an ideal location. A large historical Cathedral right next door. Many restaurants surrounding the church and the hotel. The Town Square is nearby. Easy access to rail and bus service for connections. Nice clean and comfortable rooms but no air conditioning.

Very good hotel the staff was very friendly even I didn't have a reservation they found a room for 5 days.
