Hotel Mercier

What a wonderful place to stay in Amsterdam! Great mix of vintage/modern design and decor, dark and cozy rooms with vibrant common areas. It's very clear that the owner(s) really care about the place. Unique and much more memorable than a standard hotel chain. Very central location: easy to get to most of the sights by foot, but in a nice quiet side street. The breakfast at the hotel is really delicious as well (the bar in the evening is great too!). But the best part about the hotel I think is the staff! Very friendly and accommodating. Would love to visit again!

We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed the comfortable rooms. The double twin bed thing is a little weird but was comfortable. Shower was excellent. Small, but no more or less than what 2 adults need. Our room overlooked the garden which was nice. Friendly staff though we didn’t use many services and just had one drink at the very cute bar up front. Quiet part of town but walking distance to everything. I would recommend!

I just wanted to say that we had the most amazing stay at Hotel Mercier. First of all, the staff could not have been more amazing. Angelina was simply delightful and so helpful. She was cheerful and always took so much time to answer our questions. She could not have been a better representative of Hotel Mercier. The young girl who worked the night of April 5 (whose name I forgot) was also the same- so hospitable and kind. The bar staff was amazing as well.

The hotel was so charming and the location could not have been more perfect. It is centrally located in Jordaan, the most beautiful district in Amsterdam, amongst wonderful shops, food, and culture. We were so glad to have chosen a hotel in this area as it was outside all of the touristy areas but still so easy to get everywhere. I believe this is the true spirit of Amsterdam.

The hotel itself was BEAUTIFUL. The rooms were spacious and clean and it was a perfect place for a family of 4 with connecting rooms.

I cannot more highly recommend Hotel Mercier. As a frequent world traveler, this was one of the best places we have ever stayed. We felt right at home. We are sad to leave and looks forward to our return.

Stayed at Le Mercier for one night. The hotel was beautifully decorated and felt luxurious, safe, and quiet/calm. The rooms were clean and well equipped with all that we needed during our time there. The hotel was in a great location too; it was close to the tram, the Anne Frank House and Museum, and close to cafes and other eateries. We didn’t eat at the bar/ restaurant but the staff were friendly. Would definitely stay at this spot again when we’re back in Amsterdam.

This is a lovely boutique hotel with a lot of character. The lobby and bar has a great ambiance, and the rooms are comfortable. Its location in Jordaan makes it great for visitors on holiday as it’s a nice neighborhood to wander and find some great restaurants. Also, I got a hand written note and water in my room which was such a nice touch.

Extremely friendly staff and very helpful. Room didn't have a fridge and tv was older. But location was amazing(quieter street) and the room was super cozy. They also held our luggage for free after we checked out and explored the city for the day which was super nice and convenient - would recommend.

Nice, very quiet, very comfy beds, dark room, and a great shower. What more could we need? We stayed for 5 nights. The room was small but adequate for as little time as we were actually there. The only complaint we would have is that there was no way to leave the toilet room light on without turning on the main room light, which made it difficult in the middle of the night! There was a nightlight in there, but it also went off with the other lights. Made no sense!

We stayed 2 nights ,the service was great we were welcomed with smiles from all the staff ,easy check in , the room was very nice and clean, bed was comfortable, the location was perfect,food shopping and sight seeing were all within walking distance, would highly recommend to all travelers.

Our room was quite small but had everything we needed. It was not noisy at all as the hallways are carpeted. Staff was super helpful. Overall a good experience.

Camilla and the woman who is a manager are the best. Very well designed and beautiful hotel. Would stay again when in Amsterdam.

Perfect hotel stay, we loved that it had a beautiful luxury feel and warm character and this will be our base anytime we visit Amsterdam from now on. It exceeded expectations with similar vibes to the Hoxton but a more approachable price point. The smaller room didn’t bother us, we did our research and it was perfectly appointed - we loved the details and fine luxury finishes like the Marshall speaker. Generous shower size, very comfortable bed, beautiful lobby, friendly staff, fabulous location, chic decor. Super close to the Westermarkt tram stop and beautiful walking districts of the nine streets and Jordaan. What’s not to love?!

Had a good stay here at Hotel Mercier. I stayed in four different types of rooms so got a pretty good view of what Mercier offers.

Overall the service was very good, the staff was friendly and supported me with some questions about my booking. Breakfast was great too, good coffee.

The rooms were interesting. Overall, they were clean, comfortable and welcoming. Beds were comfy but the pillow to high and firm for me so started getting backache. Showers were really good but unfortunately only shower gel and shampoo available - just not enough for business travels with hand luggage only. Conditioner can be provided on request, which is okay but would have expected it to be just there in a four star hotel. No body lotion provided.

The room with the toilet was very dark in most rooms. When travelling with a partner, it is also somewhat annoying that the bathroom doesn't have a separate door. It gets quite loud and the lights are bright in the morning when the other person in the room is still trying to get some sleep.

Rooms were quite dark in general. Some of the standard rooms were very spacious, the Junior Suite was very bright and welcoming but a bit smaller. The room without daylight was actually very nice and cozy too.

The location of the Hotel is perfect, very nice area and less busy in terms of tourists.
The staff is very welcoming and available.
Overall the design of the establishment is unique and beautiful.
Very comfortable and clean rooms and great breakfast area.

This place was perfect. Great staff who answered all our questions and helped us with a booking error when we checked in, great location and very comfortable rooms. Have recommended and will definitely go back next time I’m in Amsterdam.

Great location, loved my room how you could just walk out through a park. Super secure at night and what a great location. So many pubs, shopping and restaurants near by.

We made the right choice! Everything from start to finish was perfect.
Reception were really helpful on arrival.. We were early so they allowed us to leave our luggage while the room was ready.
You are right on one of the canals that makes up the 9 streets in the Jordaan area... A great location. Very close to the Ann Frank museum and 2 mins from a tram stop
Our room had a wall of beautiful windows overlooking the street and Amsterdam roof tops... Open plan into the bathroom with a toilet on one side and the shower on the other and the sink on show in the centre. It also had a heated floor in that area.
The bed was extra large and very comfy with big soft pillows, a good night's sleep as it was very quiet during the night.
We had a coffee machine and kettle to make hot drinks and a complimentary bottle of water on arrival.
The room had a thermostat so you have control over how warm the room is, perfect if you like it cooler at night
Downstairs there is a really nice bar and restaurant... We didn't eat here but did enjoy a cocktail
Our stay here was perfect couldn't have asked for more

The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay great. They were really kind.

The room were great. Super comfortable bed, great shower, great sink. Only problem was the dim lighting inside the toilet room.

Just absolutely fantastic. Stayed a couple of nights here for a friends wedding, the room was clean and lovely, staff were kind and helpful and it was in a great location. Only downside was at the time they were short staffed and the lovely bar was not open for the days we stayed.

Great hotel and staff who are eager to help and offer advice. Loved the neighborhood and it’s walk ability. We found many restaurants and bars as well as a lot of local shopping. Would definitely recommend adding the breakfast package to your room as it is well worth the money and very tasty, a similar breakfast at a restaurant would easily cost much more. I will say, not a lot of storage in the rooms so we pretty much lived out of our suitcases, but that is really the only negative I can think of. I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again. Thank you to all the staff!
