Café-Restaurant Amsterdam

My third visit here and it never fails to impress. I think it’s one of my favourite restaurants in the world!
An incredible building the relaxed vibe and extensive well priced menu make it perfect for celebrations, family gatherings, or a catch up with the girls.
The standards and service are consistently high and a must visit for me whenever I’m in Amsterdam.
As a lifetime seafood lover I’m always happiest when I have a table booked here and I can’t wait to return!

What a spot, a friend who lives in Amsterdam recommended this place to us. The food was so delicious and the service was great. The building itself is interesting and huge! Reasonable prices. Side salad costs 25 cents which is unheard of!!! Would definitely come back, recommend the gambas, seabass and steak!! The one thing that I would change is the lighting, it is too bright and the lighting makes it feel very spacious. It would be the dream place to eat if it was dimly lit / candlelit!!

Good selection of mid to up market food served with plenty of options to modify if need be.
Good vegetarian selection with 1 or 2 vegan options. The vegan dessert was very good! Chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet.

I can't say anything just perfect, we loved and enjoyed everything.

We are fans of industrial architecture and Cafe Restaurant has done an amazing job using the former water pumping station with the original diesel engine still on display.
We decided to eat on their lovely outdoor patio overlooking the canal because the weather was so nice.
We enjoyed our evening there very much. My wife really enjoyed the very fresh artichoke with mustard sauce, and the steak frites were delicious.
We will definitely return on our next visit to Amsterdam. We have already recommended Café-Restaurant Amsterdam to friends who will be visiting Amsterdam.

We had a great dinner here. The goat cheese risotto was delicious! We saw the seafood platter and that looked good too. We didn’t have it but I took a photo of it.

Such a hidden gem, the food is delicious and the interior is really something different what you usually see in restaurant!
We came here by lack of having different choices really, and we were so surprised by how the entrance looked like - it looks more like a sport gym rather than an entrance to a restaurant. But don't get discouraged because after opening the main door you will enter a huge, loft like building with elegant tables and cosy vibe.

We love it here! Simple menu full of Dutch classics at VERY reasonable prices. The terrace by the water is lovely. Food is quite simple but tasty. Staff are young students- quite OK but a bit slow

Super different experience, unexpectedly nice and comfortable. Not too intimate but light and group/family friendly. Good menu, reasonably priced and quick service.
The atmosphere of high ceilings gives very authentic old building experience.
Went with family and baby and it was perfect.

What a surprise to find this place! A beautiful former pumping station now turned into a restaurant/cafe. I'm an architectural photographer of industrial and other places and usually see these places empty and neglected so it's great to see one put back into use. Found it by accident really. Absolutely loved the service and food. The prices were reasonable too, €12.50 each for a hot breakfast, couple of drinks each and bottomless fries. Had a really pleasant breakfast with my friends, I loved the mint tea. There are vegan options too which is great, or just speak to the server to ask for what you need. The are English menus. Chianti was our server and was really friendly and very efficient, so thank you for the great service Chianti! If I'm ever in Amsterdam again I'll be sure to come back.

We had steak frites, a croque madam, a side of steamed pears, and two deserts: sticky toffee pudding and meringue with cherries. Everything was lovely. The food was all delicious, and the building was beautiful.

One of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam. The atmosphere--large, refurbished warehouse-style--is unbeatable, with noise at a low din that balances activity with intimacy.

Food-wise, the seafood and fish selections are a strong starting point. You can't really go wrong with anything though. The wine list is also reasonably priced and, while not extravagant, appropriate to the setting. Enjoy!

i really liked this place and its atmosphere where a few people where working and others were having dinner. it even helped me concentrate.

Always like to come here. Food is good but that’s true for a lot of places in Amsterdam. I like that it’s a bit out of the way and just the grand spacious look of the place.

A very good restaurant. They have a lovely terrace on the outside with a pergola, which on a sunny day, makes me feels as if I am on holiday in Italy. Their fish platters are extremely tasty, and so are their wines. It can be quite an expense going here, but very much worth it. It is a very big restaurant, so also suitable for big groups. It is locates within a lively neighborhood, the Staatsliedenbuurt, close to the Westerpark.

So I had absolutely amazing food here and our servant Kim did a great Job and was super nice. I will definitely come back here to enjoy proper sea food and meat. I can also really recommend the snails/escargots. Also i've never eaten in a restaurant with such a high roof like woooow

Unique experience, located in an old water factory. Great for informal ocasions. Delicious food, portions are not big.

Great food with an excellent backdrop, taking full advantage of tall ceilings, various machinery and grand doorways, the building is certainly above what you expect for a local restaurant outside of tourist areas.

The menu itself has a wide range of premium dishes, prepared and presented to the quality of a 5 star restaurant, ranging from lobsters to caviar. The staff were very accommodating, having ample people on hand to manage our requests and make drinks, the drinks in question came very quickly and so did the the food.

In summary an excellent restaurant for locals and tourists alike, offering a much needed break from the standard tourist oriented restaurants, and furthermore it's both suitable for a night out for two and the kids if they're coming too!
