This museum was easily a 10/10 for me. There were a few parts that weren’t working and it was STILL one of the best museums I’ve been to. Coming here, I honestly wasn’t expecting much and I didn’t think I’d really care too much either, but thanks to the engaging, interactive nature of it, I actually really enjoyed learning about the waterline. The staff were really nice and friendly too, happy to answer questions but not overbearing either. Thanks!! 😊

We did not know what the museum was about and at the end we knew everything about water lines in this country !!!!!!
An awesome experience with a virtual reality experience that you will remember. Overall friendly staff, innovative ways to tick one's curiosity and a lot to learn there.
Highly recommend it !

A historical ge hidden just outside of the city of Utrecht. Part of a vast historical background that never tot much attention. So something that Will surely will be interesting to national and international tourists that want to have a day away from the sprawling and active city of Utrecht.

Fantastic! Really interactive museum to teach about the Dutch water line defences. Not very big so keeps children engaged for an afternoon. Lots of space outside to run about too.

The museum is interesting but the best part for us was the guided tour (in English). The guidance around the fort made us understand the place much better, and the guide unlocked a few doors and showed us places that we couldn't see otherwise.

Fun, short visit to learn about Dutch water management during wars (1500-WW2), including a cool little VR experience. English version is just as good as the Dutch. Off the beaten path, recommended. Especially once they fix their interactive part outside.

Great place with fantastic buildings and outdoor space. The staff were friendly and everything is affordable. There's quite some distance from the parking area to the actual fort so tired feet might find it challenging. Very picturesque lakes and greens pace and only 10 minutes away from Utrecht.

Fantastic museum that tells the fascinating and important story of the Dutch water line defences. This is one of the key parts of Dutch history, almost singlehandedly explaining why the Dutch were so resilient against attacks from neighboring countries over many centuries.

For those interested in understanding Dutch history and culture, this is a hidden gem.

For those interested in group games and a VR experience during their museum visit, this is a hidden gem.

For those interested in seeing a historical fort and enjoying an hour-long walk over the embankments and surrounding forest, this too is a hidden gem.

Highly recommended!

Nice small museum in a fortress that tells the story and history about the Waterlinie defense system. Interactive museum and also nice for children. Close to the museum is a simplified reconstruction of a Roman fortress.

It was a nice area to walk, outside, where you can also see a roman Ford as well. In the museum itself it was interactive, very nicely done, with the characters explaining themselves, and showed a piece of history.

Beautiful place where you can walk and explore an old fortress. Which is preserved really nice, and also has some nice dining and drinking terraces. We stumbled upon this beautiful place whilst cycling in Utrecht near on the side of Bunnik.
It is also free you can park your bike in front or bike true it its really nice. We had a blast.
