Such a lovely time had by the whole family. Who would have thought that so much "stuff" is washed up on the beach? Enjoyed reading about shipwrecks and plane crashes but felt sad for the owners and passengers. The slip slop display from Africa was a link with our continent. The playground is lovely and was well used by our grandchildren. Liked the design of the new exhibition. The whole Beathcomber idea was interesting for young and old. A good place to visit when on Texel Island.

It is a MUST place. I loved it, eventhoug maritime is not my field but I could spend an hour here looking around. You can go inside a life-boat rescue capsule or a boat. Many rubbish found on the shore which was collected and brought into the museum includes a love box which was opened and put out to the viewers. If you have a kid, you can even spend more time, as a playground is there for them, while adults can enjoy the coffeeshop.

There is a room with a movie, which is only in Dutch so I could not understand but English was used in descriptions.

This museum is all about telling the story of the beachcombers of Texel. There are loads of things to see and read for all ages. The story touches on all aspects of beachcombing including legal and environmental issues as wel as the sheer joy of finding unique treasures on the beach. I spent a couple of hours here, but felt like there were still more stories to discover in between all the junk.

A great place to see. Makes you wonder, what kind of things people lose in the sea. Good for children, with a playground and a small picnic area. Souvenir shop and a snack bar.

I adore the idea. The museum is made of things they found in the see. Very interactive, quiz available in NL and DE (not the same, the NL is a bit more detailed. Really very educative, interactive and reflects the reality. If you eant to buy fridge magnets the best place to buy, they are cheaper than elsewhere. 2,5-3€ for the nice ones. A very nice program with kids. Dogs are allowed.

A great museum which shows great stories and items which got washed ashore on Texel. Way more interesting and exciting than expected. There is also a paper chase for the kids which keeps them busy.

Simply great! We didn't expect much but instead it was a very interesting and fun visit.
There are plenty of informations and curiosities all over.
The quantity of recovered material is astonishing...and excellent for the environment!

Very nice, unconventional museum. It shows stuff washed ashore from ships, shipwrecks and even stuff from the UK shore. Often with interesting stories.

Amazing collection of rubbish. I especially liked how the grouped everything. Very aesthetically pleasing. Lots of things to do for children; games and a treasure hunt.
Also try the "jutterkoek" in the restaurant; it is very good.
