Op Oost - Boutique Hotel & Restaurant het Kook Atelier

I rarely write reviews, but for this hotel, I'll make an exception. During our road trip of the Netherlands in October, we visited the island of Texel. Throughout our three-night stay at the Op Oost Boutique hotel on the island, there was no water until 6:00 PM on the first day due to nearby street repairs. Although the hotel wasn't at fault for the water outage, the friendly staff did their best to ensure we had a pleasant experience. As a result, we weren't charged for anything we drank at the bar for the three days, thanks to the water issue😃

The hotel focuses on healthy dining, growing many ingredients themselves or sourcing from local farmers. We enjoyed delicious and nutritious breakfasts, particularly the homemade yogurt and carrot juice. We'll definitely return in the future ❤

We had an absolutely amazing stay. All staff were very kind and helpful and the food, both breakfast and dinner, was extremely good due to high quality and fresh products. The environment around is also amazing, and very peaceful. The rooms are fresh and clean, with nice outdoor space for breakfast. We definitely want to come back and highly recommend it!

We stayed and dined here for two nights. Staff was very attentive and the rooms were cozy, bright and clean.
We absolutely loved the calm and relaxed vibes. Having a picknick for breakfast with bare feet in the grass with the amazing views in the background.
Would absolutely recommend to dine here, food is delicious, Nordic inspired and beautifully presented.

A fantastic getaway that you'll simply not find elsewhere!

I was treated to a wonderful weekend in Texel by my girlfriend and was absolutely thrilled to have stayed at Op Oost.

Among the chickens, tweeting birds and the great outdoors, this is a cozy hotel in a tranquil area. There's a beautiful garden to it with plants, well groomed shrubbery, a swing chair and outdoor terraces for all the garden rooms!

We were well taken care of with all the necessary amenities, housekeeping and friendly staff throughout our stay. Breakfast was terrific and came delivered in a picnic basket to our doorstep.

The restaurant on premise is a must-book too, with many of the ingredients coming from the hotel garden! If you're not dining with the rest, you'll even spot some staff plucking extra ingredients at dinner time.

Overall, Op Oost is a serene, hearty hotel with reliable staff. This place is highly recommended.

To be honest we made a mistake by booking Fruits de Mer Compleet while in fact we thought we booked another menu at the location in West, so this amount of seafood was more than what we could expect, but I believe this will be perfect for the fresh seafood lovers.
I saw everyone happy in the restaurant, the service was great, the drinks were great, the mood was nice too. No loud tourists.
Next time we want to stay in your room too. Thank you for having us.

We've been to a couple of one and two stars restaurants this year but none of them was as good as this non-star gem. Go with the eight course surprise menu and enjoy every bite. Very special: the non-alcoholic food-pairing is outstanding and even better than the already amazing wine-pairing.

The owners come from restaurant and events/hospitality background and it shows in all of the lovely details of the property. From the "pick yourself" herbs for tea in the common garden to the high quality COCO-MAT bed mattress to the home grown breakfast basket, the entire experience was amazing.

Stayed here from 24 to 26 July 2020. Stylish rooms, and had a very pleasant stay. Looking forward to returning when the restaurant is opened as well.

Probably best restaurant on the island...

Wauw! Wat een prachtige lichte ruime kamer, en wat een ontzettend aardige leuke mensen werken hier. Super fijn! En het ontbijt was het lekkerste ontbijt wat ik ooit in mijn leven heb geproefd, wat een beleving. Alles lokaal en met aandacht. Echt zo lekker, en met een prachtige locatie, fijne sfeer en mooi uitzicht op de tuin. Dikke aanrader.

De plek om volledig tot rust te komen!
Als je aan komt rijden voel je al een oase van rust. Op Oost is de plek waar ik minimaal eens per jaar komt om helemaal op te laden. Je hoeft helemaal niks waardoor je al het moois wat er is kan ontvangen. Super vriendelijke personeel, prachtige kamers en een heerlijk ontbijt. Wil je echte smaaksensaties beleven boek dan ook een diner bij bij t' Kook Atelier!
Met de voetjes in het gras, de ruimte (waanzinnig uitzicht) en ondergedompeld worden in la het Texels moois en lekkers. Werkelijk overal is aan gedacht van Texelse koffie tot zeepjes van het eiland. Mijn lievelingsplek en kijk nu al uit naar mijn volgende bezoek!

Le petit déjeuner servi dans un panier pique-nique devant la chambre est très copieux et délicieux.
Le dîner by nature est une véritable expérience culinaire ! Une explosion de saveurs et un régal pour les yeux.
Accueil très sympathique.

Heel erg vriendelijke ontvangst. Kregen van te voren aanwijzingen over ons verblijf. En eerlijk is eerlijk, de helft hadden we niet gelezen. WIFI-code en wegwerkzaamheden waren zaken die aan ons voorbij gegaan waren. Maakt verder niet uit. In het dorp waren ze met werkzaamheden bezig, daardoor iets lastiger te vinden.
Het restaurant wordt gebouwd/verbouwd, daardoor is er met een aanpassing diner mogelijk (gene gebruik van gemaakt).
Over de ligging/uitzicht kan veel gezegd worden: het uitzicht is mooi en zeker bij goed weer kan je hier lekker genieten.

De kamer oogt redelijk nieuw met een fijne douche. De topper van het bed zou iets minder hard mogen wat ons betreft.
's Ochtends om 09:00 uur werd er op de deur geklopt met een "goedemorgen" erbij. Een grote mand met lekkers stond voor ons klaar op het tafeltje.
Jammer genoeg was het slecht weer en konden we niet buiten ontbijten. Dan maar binnen genieten. Croissantje, chocolade broodje, brood met (Texelse?) kaas, ei, sap, fruit. Was een lekker ontbijt. Mogelijkheden om koffie/thee te maken staan standaard op de kamer.
Heerlijk rustige omgeving.

We misten alleen een krukje om onze koffer op te zetten, of is dat iets persoonlijks?
Verder was het gewoon genieten.

We hebben het genoegen gehad om onze bruiloft te vieren bij Op Oost. Wat een fantastische ervaring. Zowel onze gasten als wij hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf. Van het heerlijke ontbijt tot het fantastische diner was alles enorm goed geregeld met oog voor detail. Er werd goed met ons meegedacht en er werd veel verteld over de locale producten, je voelt de liefde en passie voor het eiland en haar producten.

Zeer goed. Vriendelijk personeel. Kamers top. Ontbijt top. Inrichting mooi. Het was dit of in een tent; geen verkeerde keuze geweest ;) bedankt voor het prettige verblijf (we zullen niet meer fluisteren bij het ontbijt ;) )
