Quite a nice museum, offering a window into Rembrandt's life. The house was Rembrandt's home and studio from 1639 to 1658, a period that saw him create some of his most famous works.

The home itself is luxurious and reflected Rembrandt's success at the peak of his career.

The staff who worked there were helpful and seemed to enjoy working in the house. My favourite part was the etching demonstration that showcased the very technique Rembrandt used to create his renowned prints

I finally got to know his story more. I would have loved to see the timeline put early at the museum. There were too many paintings that weren’t Rembrandts but his teacher or others. I think if they had the text next to the paintings would save time. The quality of Audio guide was the best.

The original house of the famous painter Rembrandt with audio guide in each room analysing all the paintings and exhibits. You feel the life of Rembrandt coming to life in front of your eyes. We made a reservation a day before our visit but it was easy finding tickets. A very valuable and enjoyable experience. Thank you very much.

My favorite museum in Amsterdam. It feels more like stepping into the history of a home and artist's studio than a staged place. Recommend you book your tickets for the opening time and enjoy! Highly recommend.

Very good look at the life of Rembrandt during the peak of his career. Not an art museum, mote of a house museum using art to explain the times. Great audio guide. If you are hear in summer, consider pre- buying tickets it's going to be crowded.

Initially I wasn’t sure if I needed to visit Rembrandt’s house-museum but I’m glad I did it.
Very informative and interesting!
Audio tour is available in many languages.

And I loved the workshop.

The museum did an excellent job clarifying the life story and art of Rembrandt in the historical and social context of Amsterdam at that time

Impressive place ... You feel like you enter in the life and the drama of the great Rembrandt. You step on his footsteps, you breath his air, you feel his joy, despair, suffering, powerlessness, decay ... Loaded with paintings from the seventeenth century, with furniture and artifacts of that time, with its collection of antiquities and various things, in which a buried the money and led him to bankruptcy. With the air loaded with sadness of a house in which the children, the wives, the luck and the well-being lost...

Definitely recommend listening to the audio guide they provide in the lobby. It was great learning about Rembrandt’s life. Not much of his own work on display, but there are some nice pieces of art nonetheless.

This museum gives a nice insight into Rembrandt’s life and the house where he lived during (part of his) time in Amsterdam. It is recommended to do the audio tour (which is free of charge).

Excellent reconstructions of how Rembrandt lived as a famous artist, curiosities collector & art dealer. The audio / video guide is an excellent example of how to bring individual spaces, objects & artwork to life.

Definitely one of my favourite museums in Amsterdam. It’s a small place, but the audio guide does a great job narrating Rembrandt’s life story. Although his most famous masterpiece, the Night’s Watch is not here (too big to fit in the house anyway), the museum has a nice collection of his other paintings and the eccentricities he accumulated over the years. Highly recommended.

I dont think it is must-see for a tourist but that does not change the fact this museum is a magnificent place. It is very well designed, and also equipped with (slightly) interactive workshops. Best way experience Rembrandt.

It was a fun, informative and definitely inspiring experience. Most of what you see is a reconstructed setting and that what made me hesitate but I’m glad I went for it and visited the museum. I think people will hate me for this but I think it’s an invaluable experience for artists to see what a real artist looks like. He experimented with all sorts of methods and tried many techniques, took walks and was inspired by his immediate surroundings and dreamt big. He collected objects and examined art books. He made drawings, etchings, prints. He taught art and dealt in art. Oftentimes artists doubt themselves and neglect learning about the “trade” of being an artist, I think being where Rembrandt once lived will inspire you to see a different path. It certainly did for me; and for that I thank god who brought me to the cafe next door (the Rembrandt’s corner)
Long story short
Wasn’t sure about the museum
Had a walk, started to rain
Got windy
Changed my mind about the museum
Headed back to the hotel
Took refuge in the first cafe I saw
Had a warm slice of apple pie
Asked what the cafe was called
Girl at cafe said it was Rembrandt’s Corner
Do you happen to know where Rembrandt’s house is? I asked
Next door she said.

This Rembrandt museum was Rembrandt house yrs ago. It is a good place to spend abt 1.5hrs here to know something abt this painter/trader. The entrance ticket is included by the Amsterdam city card and remember to book slot and q there, quite a lot of visitors. Some of the collections in this museum is quite interesting.😉

A must-see for fans of Rembrandt or anyone interested in 17th-century Dutch life. The museum is located in Rembrandt's actual house, which has been restored to its original condition. There are two demonstrations of how paints and etchings were made, and many interactive elements. Good value for money.

I spent two beautiful hours here, but you could be quicker if you don't follow the audio guide in full. Highly recommend catching the live demonstrations if you can, they're very special! Thank you to Lisa for the great pigment/paint demonstration. All the staff are excellent and the place is very well maintained.

This is definitely one of the best museums I have ever visited!
The audio guide is a must. It's included in the ticket price, so please take it. It has many exciting stories about Rembrandt’s day-to-day life.
The etching demonstration was very interesting. The painter who facilitated the demonstration was super friendly and his presentation was very engaging! He gladly answered all our questions and it was obvious that he knew what he was talking about!
Now, this museum is in the top 5 of my favorite!

Thoroughly enjoyed touring this home of Rembrandts that he lived and worked in. To see the rooms set up where he painted and did printmaking and sold his artwork AND painted the night watch was an amazing experience.

MUST SEE MUSEUM - Definitely among my Top 5 museum in Amsterdam. You can use I Amsterdam card.for a free empty.

Wery well prepared and in details fantastic adventure into Rembrandt's life. Great free audio guide and you can enjoy it on your own pace just by walking the house from the bottom to the top.

I love this museum and definitely wait for the "workshop" of press printing in the 4th floor. It is funny, entertaining and educative. The gentleman was super.
