Café Hoppe

Very friendly staff (one nice guy was worried about me getting wet when it rained). Had an enjoyable couple of unhurried beers sitting at the bar watching American sports like I was in the US, but with a European flair, and boy what a big interesting venue it is to explore :)

A charming little place with great food. A little on the pricey side but suppose it's to be expected. The decor is very classy, which gives it a special feel while dining. The food can sometimes takes a long time to come but when it does, it's worth the wait. This place makes Groningen experience even better.

Excellent food and very nice service. While sitting outside is really nice, even in mild weather, the interior is decorated beautifully and is worth a trip to the restroom just to see it! The tuna salad sandwich is large and very lekker.

Always fine and nice, its lika a maze inside, and it'd pretty big. But it's really popular and there ain't much seats free. The people here are really nice and helpful to, doesn't take to long to order and get things

This is a very popular spot in Groningen for drinks and food as well, so the prices are above average for the city. The menu has some good history about the city and the restaurant. We only saw Dutch menus though I'm sure they have them in English as well. They offer meals throughout the day and bar snacks past 10pm. It's a great place to go for people watching.

Not normally a drinker loved this place food is great and the beer 🍺 cold.deco is great too will be going again 😁👍back again said I would be. 😁done the night life now and this place just get better. The staff are great and the atmosphere is really friendly. 2nd summer here and if you haven’t been here you really don’t know what you are missing 😁😁👀😁

This is *the* Groningen experience. Whenever friends visit this is the first stop! Great atmosphere and a fantastic diversity of styles in their large and maze-like building. I enjoy this place thoroughly! Additionally the easiest and most iconic local hangout.

The atmosphere is amazing. The best place to go if you want to hang out with your friends, or take your visiting family out at any time of the day. Fast and good services. Food is decent, deserts and drinks are amazing.

Great as always. This is a very atmospheric place with a varied range of food, beer and wine. We would highly recommend you stop here to quench your thirst and hunger after a long day's shopping and sightseeing.

Only stopped for liquid refreshments here and loved it. Great terrace even in low temperatures. The personnel were excellent! Friendly, quick, flexible and knowledgeable. We'll be back

Been going here since I was 16. Love this place atmosphere. If you want to try any good snacks do order the pulled pork nacho's! They are everything you want in life from a snack. And they also come in a vegetarion variant 👌.

I was shown this pearl back in 2008 by a group of local friends and have been coming back yearly to the city and this place ever since. It's one of the few restaurants/bars that "defines" Groningen. I have lots of great memories here with friends and family from everything to dining, watching the world cup, to going out for a few to many alcoholic beverages. It's perfectly located in the city centre with everything you need in close proximity. Looking forward to many visits in the future!

Great ambience , good beer, and very nice food! It's a sprawling bar with lots of themes for the seating! Very polite hosts! Can't wait to try it out again!

Great student deal (called 'pub grub') from Monday to Friday at the Grote Griet (the one in the middle). You can have a meal with meat/fish with fries, or a burger, or salad and other options for €6. I also recommend to try De Koninck draft beer.

The area for partying and gathering. Good food, cheap drinks, three bars, tons of people, and the only sports bar in town if you like American Football!! Go to the middle bar. Plus the wait staff are all cute :)

Wow! Best steak I've had in ages! Brillant friendly waitress, fast service, live pianist and unlimited fries!

De Drie Gezusters is very large, both inside and out. There are several rooms and bars indoors and heated outdoor seating. Great place for large groups. Good selection of craft beers.

Did you know, this place is the biggest pub in Europe? Enormous amount of people can sit outside (+/- 500). So I would recommend if it's really busy, and afraid of waiting a significant amount of time, just go inside. You'll get attention in just a sec.
Pub offers great selection of beers. The Zusjes is more like a Grand Café, huge and classic atmosphere. (Great coffee and tea)

Extremely popular ergo, if you about to complain that the service takes ages, think and go inside! Spotting you from 500 people? Well good luck with that!

Had fun playing a pinball tournament here. They have an pretty good selection of pins like: Stranger Things, Walking Dead, Deadpool, Jurassic Parc, and other somewhat older machine's (about 12 in total).
