Had a 'take in' interview with Dennis as part of the process of ordering MTO shoes from Gaziano and Gerling. The interview took more then an hour. Very professional (and a pleasure to be able to converse about shoes with a fellow shoe afficionado). It will take a couple of months for the shoes to arrive but I have high hopes!

The professional and friendly team at The Hand gave my shoes some much-needed tender love and care. The Hand also carries an excellent selection of quality products.

Great offering and exquisite makers for regular trunk shows. The best thing is Dennis‘ service though. Always helpful and forthcoming. Keep up the great work!!

Dennis and I traded several emails as well as WhatsApp calls over a few months to ensure I had a pair of Edward Greens I loved and fit me well (I settled on some Dovers after the loafers wouldn't work for my foot). Shipping and return shipping for me, as a US customer, were included in the purchase, and was expeditious.

The level of service and patience provided by Dennis is second to none - this is what a high level retail experience is all about, and one I have rarely experienced. I look forward to continuing my relationship with this fantastic shop.

For those (I can't for the life of me think of anybody near) born with a shoe fetish, there is no place gaining the upper hand on The Hand. There, one doesn't 'talk to the hand', quite the opposite. Even though I'm located in the USA, his responsiveness and assistance dealing with shoe sizing and a shipping issue have exceeded expectations. The Hand is a great shoe boutique in the center of Amsterdam. They have a great shoe selection and if you are a shoe nerd or just a regular guy who appreciates quality, this is the place to be.
Hoessein was a lovely company and we had a great chat whilst getting my first pair of quality shoes (they are stunning btw). Although I have not met Dennis, he was very helpful every time I contacted him online and the other reviews are proof of that.

Absolutely fantastic experience with Eduard and Dennis! Dennis took over an hour of his time to let me try on beautiful shoes and answer all of my questions regarding everything shoes. The duo are some of the most knowledgeable people you will meet in this industry. I would honestly say it was one of the best retail experiences I have had and would recommend it to anyone and everyone looking to get into the world of great footwear!

Visiting The Hand at Amsterdam is a great experience and well worth the trip. It was exactly what I needed after trying and failing to find proper boots for me online. I am wondering why I did not visit this shoe shop sooner. Dennis helped me a lot with finding the right fit as well as providing me with helpful tips and instructions, which is exactly what I needed as a first time buyer of a pair of premium leather footwear.

I recently got a beautiful pair of Galways from the Hand, and shopping with them was wonderful. First of all, they have some of the best Edward Green makeups out there and they design some beautiful 202 last Galways. Second, when I was debating which one of their beautiful boots to buy, Dennis was kind enough to send me videos of the actual boots themselves to help me pick. Finally, Dennis was very quick to reply at every step of the process, and was very supportive throughout shipping and delivery.

Overall, it was a fantastic online shopping experience, and when I'm ready for more EGs, I'll definitely go through them again. I hope that some day I'll be able to visit in-person!

Sheer coincidence got me to meet The Hand, but what a lovely experience it proved. Both Dennis and Eduard being professional, knowledgeable and charming, took their time to assist me in finding a handsome, fitting pair of black, classic Oxfords. Practically the only type I wear professionally.

The moment the Carter-last Santonis were presented, I was sold. The refined, blind stiched toecap did the trick and the attention to detail, measurements and service exceeded my expectations. OK, an €800 price bracket, but the craftsmanship... lovely.

My preference to have my shoes made up with steel toe tips, proved no problem whatsoever. Theo, their cobbler and a European first prize winner in shoe restorations, did a lovely job, receding the tips into the sole's edge. That's exactly what I wanted!

The possibility of mail-in repair service for my other shoes, is another bonus.

In the end I walked out with not one pair of black Oxfords, but with two pairs, the other in a beautiful dark tan, nearing cognac; they go nicely with white trousers...

Will I be returning customer? Definitely!!!
