Island Bookstore

What a lovely place. I had bookmarked it a while ago, and was able to finally get there! Wonderful, wonderful carefully curated collection of English books! One look and you will know "Oh they know what they are doing:)"

I can't wait to drop by again. Special mention to the stationery section as well with lovely journals and diaries. Friendly staff and great collection, one of the best English bookstores in Amsterdam!

I’m an illustrator so during my trip to Amsterdam, I was looking for children’s books to bring back home that were culturally important to Amsterdam / Netherlands. The staff was so unbelievable helpful and knowledgeable. The book they recommended wasn’t in stock but they ordered it for me and I got it a day or 2 later. I absolutely loved the books they recommended and they are part of my treasured collection now. I really can’t wait to be able to visit again, and go trough all the beautiful books they have!

A lovely little bookstore, that is totally up- to- date, in the Westerstraat, in the middle of the not that touristy part of Jordaan. As i have heard from many friends living in this neighborhood, the best place to find a good book. It has as well an English section, newspapers, magazines, postcards and more....if you are in the neighborhood just pop in, and feel the atmosphere.

Top winkel met mooi aanbod en erg behulpzaam personeel

Wat een heerlijke zaak! Fijne sfeer, heel groot assortiment op weinig meters en prettige verkopers. En ze hadden ook nog wat ik zocht! Ik kom zeker terug!!

Een boekenwinkel naar mijn hart; veel verschillende titels en onderwerpen en een mooie actuele 'showtafel'. De verkoper heeft gevatte humor en weet echt waarover hij het heeft, kan mooie bruggetjes maken naar andere werken en is heel behulpzaam.

De fijnste boekhandel in de buurt! Mooie selectie, goed advies, en als n boek er niet is, wordt t direct voor je besteld. Warme persoonlijke touch, door de geschreven tips van de medewerkers op hun favoriete boeken en dat belletje als je boek er is..

Wat een fijne verrassing. Vanochtend via Libris een boek besteld bij Island en verwachtte dat het er na 1-2 dagen zou zijn - lag het na een paar uur al op de mat. Veel dank voor de snelle bezorging!

Attent personeel wat nog iets langer was open gebleven toen ik nog een boek zocht, erg schattige winkel, en fijn dat je online het assortiment kan zien en dingen kan aanvragen!

Oase. Ik koop hier altijd mijn tijdschriften en het maakt me iedere keer blij. Allemaal erg lieve mensen. Dank voor deze fijne winkel.
