Not sure why this restaurant haven’t been awarded by the Guide Michelin so far. An outstanding location in the basement with a cozy atmosphere. Creative und innovative dishes. Emy and Michael are incredibly lovely hosts. We were also very impressed by the non-alcoholic pairing - the bell pepper drink will stay in our minds. They have created a place thats absolutely different and very unique. Thank you for this exciting evening - we’re sure there will be more to come.

We had a very personal and unique experience. Would recommend for those seeking intimate and private dinning, fresh ingredients are all locally sourced and every dish was explained in detail. We enjoyed over 10 courses last night and had some great wine too. We will try to visit again!

An amazing experience. For sure a ‘must go to’ for food lovers.

One of the few hidden gems in town. This place is simply amazing. Every season the manu changes, and watch out you will like to come back every season. The food is of a multi Michelin star quality (and trust me, I’ve seen a few). The hospitality is of another level, never have I felt so welcome. Prepare for a 4 hour long intimate dinner with the best foods and wine possible. Michael is an amazing chef and Emy is super host and sommelier.

Having been a chef in various restaurants and eating out amongst the world best, from osteria francescana to noma; i've seen something about food.

Tres topped them all, what an amazing experience. Excited, exquisite, elegant. Good food is better in the presence of good people. And Emy and Michael are good people With great passion and super friendly.

Fantastic experience, we had to do it twice in 1 month. The food is inventive and fun. The team is amazingly friendly and happy to chat about the food, wine, or whatever. Be prepared for a 4+ hour dinner experience if you do the 18 courses.

Wow. Truly unique menu at very high standard, Japanese infused throughout, but combined with typically Dutch ingredients and methods.
Cosy experience, in this all bar-seated 16 people restaurant. This is without a doubt a new culinary highlight of Rotterdam.

Amazing menu

Wat een mooie ervaring met maar liefst 15-18 gangen en maximaal 12 couverts. Je begint in de lobby, dan ben je aan de bar getuigen hoe het gross van je gangen worden bereid en eindig je weer in een andere zithoek. Alle gangen zijn van een zeer hoog niveau. De prijs daarentegen ook.

Heel bijzondere ervaring. Het eten is echt heerlijk en de service is super! Ook de inrichting is mooi. Al met al een fantastische avond gehad.

Wat een talent om van een oude werfkelder zo'n concept te maken en zúlke lekkere gerechtjes met zeer creatieve en bewerkelijke toepassingen van vis (in elk geval tijdens ons menu). Tot en met de toetjes! Elk gerecht (van amuse tot koffie zijn het er ca 17;vierenhalf uur verwennerij) een visueel plaatje en explosie van smaken. Veel umami smaken, en combi's die ik nooit zou bedenken. Met fantastische service ('bent u links of rechtshandig': nog nooit ergens gevraagd!). En je kunt zien hoe alles gemaakt wordt. Amy schenkt er ook heerlijke wijnen bij en vertelt daar met liefde over. Het wijnarrangement is in mijn ogen net teveel. Iets minder volle glazen of een halve-glazen arrangement had ik fijn gevonden. Maar dat is hoogstens 'te veel van iets heerlijks'.

Ontzettend genoten van onze avond hier, niet al te lang geleden. De smaken waren erg bijzonder — zowel van de 18 gangen als de wijn. De culinaire reis begint al direct na de entree, waar een fijne zitplek, warme doeken, een welkomstdrankje en ook gauw de eerste gangen/amuses je opwachten.

Emy’s wijnselectie gaat gepaard met leuke verhalen over de oorsprong. Wat mij betreft past de wijn uitstekend bij de gerechten!

Aan alles bij Tres is nagedacht; van de plek waar je lepel neergelegd wordt, tot aan het meubilair en de selectie van de wijnglazen. Dat laatstgenoemde met de hand geblazen glaswerk uit Zwitserland betreft, ontdekte ik tot mijn spijt pas toen een glas uit mijn hand glipte.

Michael is ontzettend beheerst en relaxt wanneer hij, volgens mij geheel in zijn element, de laatste puzzelstukjes van de gerechten bij elkaar laat komen, met hulp van zijn collega. Dit alles gebeurt dichtbij de zitplaatsen; je krijgt het allemaal mee.

Vanaf de zitplaatsen en onderweg naar het toilet vang je een glimp op van de keuken(apparatuur), wat ook zeker interessant is om even aandacht te schenken. Daarnaast: er zit veel tijd, ervaring en creativiteit in de gerechten, waarvan de voorbereidingen al dagen van tevoren beginnen — maar dat legt het team je allemaal uit.

We hebben de avond afgesloten in de lounge, op dezelfde (ondergrondse) verdieping als het restaurant. De laatste gangen aldaar stellen ook zeker niet teleur.

Al met al komen we graag nog eens terug! Ik ben erg benieuwd naar de invloeden waarmee dit sterke ondernemersduo zich heeft ingelaten tijdens hun reis door Japan.
