Oude Luxor Theater

A legend in Rotterdam, and in the entire country. A truly magnificent theatre in the heart of the city. The walls downstairs are adorned with posters from past, legendary productions (primarily in Dutch). The staff, consisting of well-trained and enthusiastic group of young people, are extremely kind, attentive and professional. I'd highly recommend to catch a production, be it a play or a music, in this theatre that has been the city's icon since 1917.

Great Theatre, many of the great Dutch comedians and actors have performed here. Still has this old theatre feel!

Nicely located in the city centre. Recently renovated, all new seats. Great retro atmposhere and vibe. If you find the opportunity visit a show (boom tickets online upfront). Many places in the area where you can have food before enjoying the show.

If you're looking for a place to enjoy some live music or a theater performance, I recommend this place.

The theater is located close to the train station, so it's very easy to reach. We went to see Haevn and it was amazing! The sound quality was top-notch and the lighting added an extra layer of excitement to the concert.

The theater itself was well-designed and even though we were sitting in the back, we could easily enjoy the show. During the break, we were able to grab some drinks and relax before the second half. What was really great was that everyone was respectful during the concert, so it was a really enjoyable experience.

Honestly, I didn't notice any downsides to the theater. The only thing I would suggest is to act quick when you're getting your jacket back or using the toilets during intermission because there can be a bit of a line.

For a 100 year old theater it still looks very good!
Good seats, unless you get to share a love seat with a stranger, good views and acoustics.
Modern design in the lobby still feels classic and here and there some original details.

ARCHITECTURE: I really like how they've managed to keep the street-idea in the entrance hall, even though the place is fully furnished and enlarged. Furniture is original and in good condition.

The 'buncker', as I justly but not negative could refer to it is quite a special theatre space. The soft rounded edges will always remind me of a 'buncker', but this place is still cozy, yet spacious.
Acoustics are good, I wonder what the top layer of the walls is made of. Acoustics can't this good only because of the giant pillow in the air?

BAR: even though there's the big peaks at the bar after a show the lines are duable. They serve beers, coffee, soda's and alcohol free beer (incl. a leffe blond 00 ) too.

Very neat and cosy theatre

Great venue, not to wide that you're to far from the action. Not to big so you're never far away. All the usual extras done well. Will definitely go back.
