A wonderful 3 night stay. A great location to use as a base while exploring the city and beyond. Public transportation was nearby and very easy to use. The hotel staff were most friendly, professional and approachable. A great, rounded experience. Also, the wellness centre was a delight. We managed to visit 4 times in 3 days. A thoroughly relaxing experience.

6 years ago we had our Dutch wedding here. I was happy with how things worked out. The food was wonderful! Amazing! They also got along with the wedding planner and her team (and there was no problem at all- which is almost impossible to find when it comes to weddings.) Good service always gets 5 stars. One point is that The rooms can be improved. We went back there a few times for the restaurant and yes absolutely amazing food.

Can’t say enough amazing things about this Intercontinental. Truly felt like a vintage hotel with charming staff and convenient location on the canal. Every thought and need was tended to, from complimentary umbrellas to get around in the rain, to discreet room service, and helpful information about the city and hotel. Definitely want to stay here again someday.

Went to the Amstel Hotel restaurant with my best friend to have dinner. We had a window view table overseeing the Amstel river. The view was majestic. We had a 3-course menu with wine pairing. The food and the wine selections were superb. Lastly, I would like to thank the gentlemen who served us, Ted and George, for the unforgettable dining experience. I would absolutely love to visit again soon.

Right when we walked in the door, we were greeted by Ms. Julie de Bont. She was incredibly kind and genuine. We could tell she wanted to help us with anything we needed. She took time to pinpoint places to go and eat which we were able to explore during our stay. We found our encounter with Ms. Julie was truly valuable and added meaning to our stay from the start. Our room was very clean and we had complimentary fruit and pastries sent to our room. The shower was very clean and plenty room. We loved dinner and breakfast. Dinner was an experience in itself and the quality of each dish was out of this world. Breakfast was also amazing. The buffet is truly enough but we wanted to try items on the menu as well and im so happy we did! Pls try the poached egg and salmon sandwich! The location of this hotel…could not be better. Very easy access to tram and underground transportation. HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone who values quality, quantity, and all things amazing!!!!

I recently visited the Amstel Hotel and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The ambience was delightful, and the cocktails at the bar were exquisite.

I want to extend my appreciation to the staff, especially David, Duke and Ianos, for their exceptional service. Attentive, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to ensure my time at the bar was enjoyable.

Looking forward to my next visit!

We had a great stay at the Amstel, Sanne at the front desk was just amazing. Our room was not ready yet, she suggested a coffee shop for us and as we were walking down the street towards it the bellman ran out to get us because our room was just cleaned. After running around Amsterdam all day we returned to a fruit tarte and some fruit with a note to my gf (whose birthday was noticed by Sanne upon checking) which wished her a happy birthday trip. The next morning she was just as delightful as we checked out. Our room was just incredible with a view of the Amstel river. Virginia at breakfast was so fun to chat with. We could not be More happy with the customer service.

Went here for lunch and it was wonderful. Incredible view, very friendly staff, a warm, quiet (high tea is not, and that room was very loud) and elegant ambiance. The food was very good and reasonably priced for such a high class establishment. Highly recommended.

Duke, David, and Ianos were the best bar hosts you could have. Their professionalism and attention to detail is exemplary in the industry. I 10/10 recommend the Amstel Hotel, and make sure to say hi to the fantastic trio at the bar. 😊

Amazing hotel, so much room and accommodations. The beds are very comfy. They have a pool and a spa. With a workout room. They really know how to take care of you here. I would stay here again. It's very pricey, but nice away from all the Amsterdam tourist chaos.

I very much enjoyed the splendor of the this hotel. The location along the canal is lovely. You're near the action without feeling the hectic vibe of it all. Service was friendly and impeccable. The restaurant is beautiful and the pool (& area) is gorgeous looking out into the canal. Because the concierge took an interest in our plans we realized we should've pre-purchased our VanGogh museum tickets - he had 2 extra tickets for us and saved the day! Thanks so much. All of the fresh flowers - blue lilies and hydrangeas gave it the special touch of a by-gone era. Our stay was a true delight!

There are not enough words to describe how incredible this hotel is. From the beauty of the property, to the staff, to the food, to the service - everything is 10/10. The room was extremely spacious, comfortable, and the linens on the bed were changed every single day. The entire hotel is just luxurious and immaculate! The morning breakfast is included with your stay and the food was exceptional. The breakfast is served in the most beautiful room looking over the canal. The staff is also extremely friendly and personable, always looking to take care of any need you have. I will never stay anywhere else when I visit Amsterdam!

I visited Amsterdam in June 2023 and stayed at the Intercontinental Amstel Amsterdam for seven nights. The hotel is located in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods of Amsterdam. This quiet and beautiful residential area is fairly close to all areas, where you can reach the most prominent places in Amsterdam on foot in no more than 25 minutes.

The hotel has a heritage feel but with a renewed identity. It is located on one of the largest water canals in Amsterdam, with a charming scene in the morning or evening. I advise you not to miss watching it in the evening from the opposite side of the water canal. And if you can stay in a room directly overlooking the canal, do not miss it.

The hotel staff is wonderful, helpful, and cheerful, always available to serve you.

There is parking for cars at a daily cost of 80 euros per day; the price may vary in seasons. But this is what the situation costs me daily. Suppose you are going to visit Amsterdam without moving to nearby cities. In that case, renting a car will not be good, as the city is designed for moving on foot or by public transport or enjoying transportation by bicycle. (There are wonderful cities near Amsterdam worth visiting and spending several hours in.)

Breakfast is available in the hotel in the lower character, in a wonderful space overlooking the water canal. Still, the breakfast options were not as big as the hotel's evaluation, and the breakfast buffet options are rather few. But the breakfast staff was incredibly helpful and wonderful.

I did not face any problems in the hotel, but if I had a bad impression, it was about the room furniture quality. The furniture in the room was worn out and old.

I would repeat the experience and stay in the hotel if I had the opportunity, and I thank the staff for making our experience wonderful and beautiful as a family.

Great hotel, great staff, great location. Probably on the outer limits of where we would want to stay and still be "close to everything" but Amsterdam is such a fun city to walk around in, its a non-issue. Never more than 10-15 minute walk, or quick car ride to anything we wanted to do. The hotel was exceptionally clean, the room was big and had a great river view, and the Amstel bar was a wonderful place for a drink. Can't wait to stay again!

Nice hotel and conveniently located, you can tell the hotel has history. Food was delicious and the service was 5 star. I will admit that at the beginning that since I didn't look like their typical demographic, I had this feeling that I was being followed every time I walked into the hotel. Other than that, it was perfect.
