AH Hermitage

Absolutely wonderful stop for fresh fruits and Dutch desserts when in Holland! It’s really all over the Amsterdam area, so I think this is the one I stopped in about a block from my hotel in Zaandam! Affordable and good quality! Similar to a Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods for those in the States. The only huh was no Visa accepted!
I found the later to be really odd!

Love the Albert Heijn. They got all you need and a nice place.

This supermarket has an incredible variety of products and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

The AH stands for Albert Heijn and this is what you will see on the sign above the entrance to the shop.
The first thing I liked about AH is the lighting. It has a warm, orangish glow that reflects off the wooden display racks and creates a lovely ambient feel.
The next thing to love is the range of goods sold. We went in for picnic ingredients and came out with absolutely everything we needed. A superb range of cheeses, breads, olives, salads, drinks and other sundries meant that we had a lovely picnic by the canal.
The staff are friendly and helpful. Everyone we approached spoke English better than we did and were eager to ensure that we were happy with our purchases.
This is a great place to shop and it beats, hands down, my experience in just about all UK supermarkets.

Has just undergone a big renovation. Improving the clarity and assortment of the store. Making it one of the best AH there is.

No cash!! (Atm close by) I love this place from the amazing vegatable and fruit selection (orange juice machine!!) all to the great hummus, dressings and many others.

Well organised, clean, plenty of very nice options. People working there are really nice.

Cashier was polite and there was no rush like in other stores to be as quick as possible to pack produce before and after paying for them.

Use this place most days. Bit more expensive than its competitors. Staff are freight day and helpful.
