De Indian Mart

Nice little shop with quite a variety of original Indian stuff. Friendly people. Rare supply in this country, even found amla and methi!

I am unaware of any Indian grocery store, other than De Indian Mart, which is closer to the city centre. Located on Kinkerstraat, very close to the Food Halls and Ten Kate street market, the shop is long and narrow, like so many others in the city.

Almost every review that I read about this store mentions how nice and attentive the owners are, which is very reassuring.

It's only once you've in the store that you begin to realise what a massive assortment of produce is available. The offerings of supermarket chains pale into insignificance.

If you are into cooking and Indian cuisine, here you'll find all the recipe book ingredients, some of which are not easily available elsewhere. There's also a superb selection of packaged spice mixes which have been specially selected to produce and enhance meat, fish and vegetarian dishes; Or you could buy the Indian Mart Spice Box which has the ingredients for some 50 recipes.

There are snacks galore, together with Indian sweets and confectionery. The deep freeze offerings are great for those planning ahead.

Besides food, the store has Ayurveda products, cosmetics and incense.

If you're not into cooking, or you just want to treat yourself, Indian Mart offers a mouth-watering selection of homemade ready meals. In addition to classics such as Butter Chicken and Chicken Korma, there's a good assortment of vegetarian dishes and often a daily special. Great choice for an authentic Indian takeaway.

I have just arrived from India, and just for curiosity, I decided to enter this store. I got impressed with the variety of assortment and original products.
You can find the majority of India dishes, spices and traditional products.
Dosha, puttu, paneer, paratha and also Patanjali cosmetics are available there.
I absolutely recommend this place for your groceries.

I discovered this amazing store on Google Maps (thanks Google ☺📍), just to buy long grain basmati rice, earlier in 2021.

When I walked i was pleasantly surprised that the store sold an exceptionally wide variety of Indian products and groceries!

On 4 November 2021 (Diwali 🪔💫) I ordered starters, mains and sweetmeats from the store via WhatsApp! The service was beyond impeccable - they made sure I celebrated a wonderful Diwali!

The store has exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be back for both Indian groceries and food! ❤

There was a lovely lady at the cashier who not only identified the dishes I wanted to prepare but also made sure I chose the right ingredients. She didn't have to, but she was so kind.

Reasonably small shop, however they carry a very large selection of items. Visited many times and they have always had everything that I was looking for.

I love how vast the variety is of Indian groceries here. The owners are so warm and welcoming, and I’ve never left disappointed. I’m a huge fan of their fresh samosas. What I also really like is they have everything you need to celebrate any festival. For example, with Diwali coming up they have a beautiful selection of candles, home decoration and sweets. The place is conveniently located on Kinkerstraat and very well taken care of. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for Indian groceries in the Amsterdam area!

I just had the perfect paneer pakora and the perfect veg samosa, i love it!!Not too spicy, not fat, fresh fried, sold with lots of warmth , a smile from the owner of the shop and authenticity. It's all about the positive experience in the shop. That makes the food yummy! Owner is from India and smiling, making a chat, so open, enthusiastic, and warm. I felt really welcome! I hope you get a lot of happy customers and i will recommend De Indian Mart at the Kinkerstraat to anyone who wants to have a great smile from the owner combined with a good indian lunch or dinner or anyone who needs different kinds of spices, masala, rice, chai,vegetables or kitchen- utensils!

We had them cater a workshop for us. They delivered the food warm. It was delicious and fresh. Such a pleasure to work with them. We'll gladly use them to cater future events.

We recently moved to the neighborhood and our Dutch neighbors recommended this store. And we are so glad we found out about it, because this is one of the best Indian stores in Amsterdam. Super fresh produce, and lovely owners as well! And we were finally able to make dosa like we would find in India because of the amazing batter they have. Yay!

De Indian Mart is a very good Indian grocery store in Amsterdam. There is always good stuff in there and most importantly the customer service is amazing! I would recommend this store to anyone in and around Amsterdam.

Great shop, they have all the ingredients you (or at least I) need for making Indian food. Vegetable samosa is also delicious! The clerk is a very nice man who is always helpful and friendly

Great store! Visited earlier today and was treated very nicely by the owner. She recommended a great spice blend and while doing so they whipped up a great aloo tikka. They also shared some recipes with us. Will definitely return!

Have visited the store a couple of times and have been ordering online regularly. The delivery in Central Amsterdam is usually on the same day of the order. The store has almost everything that is needed. Special mention to the owners who are genuinely nice and always greet with a smile. Highly recommended!!!

The best shopping experience I ever had in Amsterdam!
