For what little time I spent here, the place was great.

The house was very clean and charming in appearance both inside and out.

It's a 20, 25 minute walk or so East to the city centre, so you get away from much of the tourism. In the immediate neighborhood you can find good cafes, "coffee shops", grocers, an ATM, etc.

The noise of scooters crossing the bridge at night may bother lighter sleepers but ear plugs are provided. It didn't bother me.

Would recommend.

We loved our stay in this bridge house! We stayed at the start of March when Amsterdam was quite cold but the heating made it very cosy. The room is stylish and carefully designed to make the most of the space. It had everything we needed, even slippers and robes. It was lovely to wake up and look out of the window to see the canal with a windmill. We saw the bridge opening and closing several times too. The location has a supermarket and nice places to eat and drink nearby. It's easy to get to other parts of Amsterdam on the tram or buses. Our only tiny criticism is that the wifi was slow. Highly recommended!

Loved, loved this suite! What a unique experience. Right on the water with a view of a windmill and boats passing by. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were high quality. Right near the train so very easy to get around. I loved the design of the room as well. Would love to try all of the sweets rooms!

My husband and I spent 1 night in the Beltbrug bridge house and it was an exceptional experience. The bridge house was located in a very convenient location and included all amenities. The view on canals was beautiful, the bed was comfortable and room was perfectly clean. Thank you SWEETS for this memorable night!

This was the most amazing hotel experience on our entire European trip! The bed was huge, the view of the canal was amazing and it wasn't too far from all of the Amsterdam attractions. I would recommend trying any one of the sweets hotels, you won't regret it. 🥳

A great option for a short stay in Amsterdam. Beautifully clean. Well equipped. Cleaned each day so feels more like a hotel room, even though you have the benefits of Independent flat. Fantastically comfortable bed.

Perfect for a unique stay in Amsterdam. Very nice view over the water. Of course it is tiny, but that is what you can expect from a bridge house. It is about the experience. Very clean, very neat.

Had a spontanious ‘lockdown’ mini getaway in our own city. And it really felt like being on vacation! Eventhough there is no ‘lobby’ we did feel connected to the Sweets hotel staff thanks to personal emails beforehand and handwritten notes in our room. This concept is so unique. And we are planning on staying in more bridge houses in the future.

Is it possible to give this place 6 out of 5 stars?

If you're looking for a unique, boutique and chic place to stay in Amsterdam - as a tourist or a local - the Beltbrug SWEETS Hotel should be in your top 3 (if not top 1) of choices.

Seamlessly managed from enquiry to check-out, you will feel like you're being looked after by your caring Aunty of Eva, or your favourite Uncle Otto or anyone else in the SWEETS team that you have the pleasure of communicating with. In a city where AirBnB options are becoming less available, or losing their quality, the SWEETS hotel option is something your instagram, mother, designer friends or your European-continent traveling mates will be impressed with.

The location between Bos en Lommer and Staatsliedenbuurt holds sentimental value for us, and Sie and I spent our first night there as husband and wife (ooooo!) Upon arrival in the afternoon (before the wedding), we were greeted with internet-assisted check-in, a clean, bright, warm and spacious room with all the amenities (well-fitted bathroom, bathrobes and slippers, tablet, speaker, excellent storage, hangers etc) as well as a kind note and a basket so loaded with snacks and picnic-worthy treats, we almost didn't want to leave. Alas, getting married was the priority, so we departed from our room-with-a-view and within 10 minutes by bike, arrived back to the centre of the city. If you are bike-free, there are trams, buses and your own legs to transport you back into the middle of the mayhem.

The bed, which doubles as a sofa, was so comfortable, I thought I was melting into the sheets, but it could also have been the feeling of wedded bliss. Waking up in the morning to the low hum of traffic (white noise really, as the room is well insulated) was only interrupted by the first blue skies of almost-spring and the arrival of our breakfast delivery. Also an absurd amount of food, it was very much appreciated that we could lounge in bed, enjoying the bridge going up-and-down (you can't hear the alarms or the bridge moving; you only notice it when you see a boat sail past) and the knowledge that only too soon, the SWEETS hotels will no longer be a secret. **sad-face emoji**

Our check-out was as seamless as our check-in; done via the in-room tablet and, with a sad close of the door behind us, it was nice to reflect on what kind of meaning we give to space as we rode off into our day. In 12sq meters, you can be this happy, even though the bed takes up about 7sq meters... or perhaps that's why?

I can't help but feel that this first stay at the Beltbrug is the beginning of a series of "what the hell, lets just stay in another Brugwactershuisje because the experience was so good, not because we're celebrating something" stays with the SWEETS team.

Thanks for making our day more memorable than we thought it could have been. We can't wait to experience again, how the SWEETS team have respectfully brought a historical part of Amsterdam back into the public, designed a charming space within the confines of each unusually-shaped bridge house, and provide the hospitality and professionalism of what is no doubt, soon to be a 5-star hotel.

Is it possible to be a 6-star hotel? ;)

Fantastic and cosy location. Clean, but keep in mind, you are near the water. We had some spiders and ants in the room.
