A relaxing place where you can have a haircut and color while you are just relaxing.
Very natural and warm atmosphere.
Jennifer was very welcoming and very professional, I am very satisfied and I will definitely go back when I can.

Jennifer has been cutting and colouring my hair since i moved to Amsterdam less than 2 years ago. Found her through the positive Google reviews and have not been disappointed! Relaxed and comfortable salon and always happy with my colour and cut! Highly recommend!

Jennifer has been cutting my hair now for a couple of years, on recommendation from another friend. She helped me find a new look and keep it healthy and updated. Absolutely the best cut in town! If you have curly hair, I would definitely recommend Sophia.
I wanted to get a fun hair cut and she executed my vision so well. The styling came out super good as well, she used a gel for curly hair which had a very soft finish.

I’ve been twice now to see Sophia at Sassafrass, I was looking for someone who could give me the right cut for my curly thick hair. Not only did Sophia do an AMAZING job, she also took the time (both times) to help me figure out what I really wanted and what would work with my hair type. I definitely highly recommend visiting!

Jennifer was very professional, kind and helpful to help me figure out which hairstyle would suit me since I didn’t quite know what I wanted. I am super pleased with the finished look! I did the detox treatment in February and my hair started growing like crazy! It’s never been so long and healthy. The staff is super nice and professional. I always love my hair when I leave, and will definitely do the detox treatment more often :)

Amazing service, attitude and final result. This place was recommended by a friend of mine who colors her hair here ( her hair always looks nice). So I decided to try and get a haircut because my hair had 0 shape even though I cut it before in Amsterdam in a different place. But my Sassafras hairdresser was amazing!!! I will never go to another place in Amsterdam. They are my favourite!!! Jennifer was so involved in the process, took her time to analyse my hair ( she was not in a rush to cut my hair in 2 seconds and call it a day) and hear me out and to truly understand and also to give advices. I would recommend to let her do her job because she's very very good at it. Just say what you don't want and she will take care. She was one of the few hairdressers that I saw that she really calculated how to cut my fringe. Amazing amazing!! I love her! Strongly recommend.

Jennifer is amazing with curly hair, but has such attention to detail and puts so much care into her work that I'm sure she is great with all hair types. Before meeting her, haircuts were always a bit nerve-wracking (even had bad experiences at specialised curly hair places) but here I know I'm in safe hands and I'm always happy with the results. Can't recommend strongly enough!

I wanted to bleach my hair for a long time but I was scared it would hurt and look silly on me. Jennifer ensured me that it wouldn't hurt and it would look funky, she was totally right about that. I was very anxious at the start but she made me feel comfortable and took her time to do an amazing job. Even with my very dark hair she got the color exactly how I wanted it to be so i can definitely recommend anyone that wants a new hair color to go here. Jennifer is super friendly and fun but also very professional. Super happy with the result and had a great time so I will definitely come back!

Sophia has been my hairstylist for a long time, so I was super excited when she decided to open her salon. She's always been into sustainability and eco-products which is something she's put a lot of time and effort into bringing in her salon as well.
Salon Sassafras uses sustainable supplies for everything (from hair towels to coffee cups) and their dyes aren't covered in chemicals.
Sophia herself is super friendly, super professional and takes the extra mile to ensure you're happy with the result of her work. It took me long enough to find someone I really trust with my hair, and if you're on that boat, I can guarantee you won't regret giving Sophia and Salon Sassafras a chance.
