Cafe Nassau

We have visited this cafe for lunch, I took a soup from chef, it was Minestrone. I loved it! The soup was so tasty 😋 Waited was friendly, food was ready fast. There are many places inside, but atmosphere is cozy and not noisy. My hearty recommendation 🔝

Nice cafe with lovely waitresses and delicious sandwiches! Chai latte was tasty too! Would love to come back here in summer and sit on the terrace under the sun by the canal.

I was lucky to pass by the area and find their Monday Burger Special. My Angus burger was simply out of this world and it’s one of the best that I had in my life. You have to give it a try! Thanks to the lady for her friendliness amazing service and bright smile, God bless you. Genuinely the best burger and fries in Amsterdam. Monday deal is €12. But that’s not all, the chef is consistently turning out really high quality dishes with real care and attention. And unlike many place in NL (sorry my adopted home) the service is wonderful and the staff seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. In lockdown the cafe made real efforts to be of service as much as was possible with every rule change.
On my recent of many many visits we had the bruschetta, ricotta ravioli, celeriac and truffle soup, and three amazing desserts. When I say they were all top class, it’s not because I’m easily pleased, it’s because they truly were. A strong measure of a great chef is often the simplest dishes and this person passes those tests (the Angus burger, fries, affrogato) with flying colours, before proving their credentials even further with the authentic fresh pasta and interesting refined desserts. I have reviewed before but the consistency is worth applauding and frankly, it’s got even better. Not to be missed. Oh and by the way, as it’s not a tourists restaurant (a few minutes walk from the west Jordaan) the prices are really reasonable. Did I mention the clever choice of wines (good quality, fair price, no paying just for the brand etc).

The restaurant is very nicely decorated. The lights, tables, wall decorations, etc. make it very cozy and a great place to spend some time with friends, family, or partner.
What made our experience there great, however, was the staff. They are very friendly, funny and professional. Amazing service overall. Made us feel very welcome.
The prices are pretty reasonable, which is sometimes rare to find in Amsterdam. The portions are also great, and the burgers come with lots of fries! We took the burrata salad, the steak toast, the veggie / chicken / black angus burgers and everyone was very happy with the food.
I will definitely come back and recommend others to come to Cafe Nassau.

We have been here 3 times and they always deliver amazing service and tasty food! I recommend the veggie lentil burger and whatever the soup of the day is, it’s always really good. I would definitely recommend this place!

Lovely, calm place with awesome - everything. Staff is helpful and smiling, both the inside and outside seating is great - especially the canal view.

And the food is great. Really tasty burgers and sandwiches, and the truffle sauce + any of their fries is an otherworldly combo.

First night in Amsterdam, I was exhausted and famished, the Café has a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, comfortable furniture with soothing music.

I ordered a glass of wine and the Saltimbocca dish, and I always end up not being able to eat up my food due to being too much — here? I threw caution to the wind. It was exquisite, full of flavour and refined. Such a delicate marriage between the pork, ham and spinach.
I regretted not ordering the bruschetta as they looked amazing… so I went back on my last night.

The one with the mushrooms, Parmesan and truffle oil had me nearly groan in delight. The crisp of the bread, the sweetness of baked basil tomato; they brought me a sweet white wine that was perfect and gave me a vibe from being on the French Riviera or the Amalfi coast.

I meant to take a picture of the food…but I couldn’t stop myself and ate it all. It was just THAT good. ☀

The staff was smiling, always prompt in arriving when called over and made insightful suggestions to both food and drink. They have a cheerful and dynamic disposition.⭐

Love their simple menu which is always good quality. Highly recommend their fresh daily pasta, the burger and the pasta a vongole. The place is very cozy which makes it great for a friends hang out as well as a date. Service can be a bit slow at busy times

Had a great quick lunch here. Service was friendly and spoke English for my non-Dutch friend. My sandwich was better than I expected. Would definitely recommend for a lunch to tourists who want to see what Amsterdam is like in the urban-suburbs, away from the suburbs. It's also next to a tram stop for easy access, although the area is very nice to walk around.

Always cosy and super friendly. Food is delicious! Especially the steak sandwich. Soooo glad its my local.
