MAF Haarlem

We’ve tested the new menu and got inspired by the fusion in tastes. Although the menu is small, it offers a great variety of dishes. We enjoyed and can also recommend this place for its lovely and well decorated interior.

Stayed here for a few days in November 2022. Check in and check out was super easy and straight forward. The owners were professional and easy to chat with. This is a charming and unique place to stay in Haarlem and I recommend it. The breakfast was lovely and the dining/bar areas were beautifully decorated.

This place is truly fabulous. Every detail was cared for from the moment we entered the doors. We were greeted warmly and felt right at home immediately. I loved exploring the blue room for an amazing solo breakfast, with more than I could imagine to eat and a delicious cappuccino, not to mention the fantastic company from the owner himself. The red room was bright and filled with cozy places to sit and a perfect view out onto the walking roads of Harlem. It’s location is convenient in Haarlem Central, with trains to Amsterdam, windmills Den Hague and so much more. The cozy old charm and stylish new decor was cared for to to the smallest detail, the beds incredibly comfortable and rooms private… with heated floors! I wouldn’t pass this place up for any other hotel I have stayed in Europe. Over five days, our Friend group was welcomed as if we’d been old friends to the place, and now I’d say we are! Excellent location, 10mins from Haarlem bus and train station. A pleasant quieter location. So far an excellent service and good decorative rooms. Staying 3 days here and Amsterdam not so far by train.

MAF Haarlem is a chic yet comfortable hotel. Each room is uniquely decorated in a beautiful Dutch style. Compared to the size of most buildings/rooms in Haarlem, the room was enormous! While the hotel has a turn-of-the-century charm, it also has all of the modern conveniences. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better right in the heart of Haarlem!

NOTE: ALL of the staircases I experienced in The Netherlands are STEEP and NARROW. MAF is no exception. There is no elevator. Keep that in mind when booking. Also, in talking to management, they may have some new ground-level rooms available soon if the stairs are an issue.

We LOVED our stay at MAF Haarlem!

My girlfriends came to visit and stayed at the MAF so I spent time there as a guest as well. The room was gorgeous and comfortable - the decor was absolutely lovely - modern and classic as well. It was a great atmosphere. We ate breakfast there every day - which was large and filling. The staff were very kind and attentive. Great location - about a 10 minute lazy stroll to the Haarlem train station and it is right downtown so 5 minutes max to the Grote Markt - if you don't get distracted by all the shops along the way. I'm going to recommend it to all my friends and family who are kind enough to visit.

What an amazing stay we had ! Service was absolutely lovely, very nice staff .
The room was perfect,super calm, bed very comfortable , the atmosphere was great. We slept like babies and felt at home. Will definitely recommend and go back.

We had a 4 day short break and had a great time. The owner is friendly and helpful and the room we had was amazing - as is the entire building. There's still some work to be done to convert the building fully but the rooms are fab. The one we had is massive so lots of room and a huge bed. Great breakfasts - so big we couldn't manage it all, and all of good quality. The hotel location is good - just off the Grote Markt and all the bars/cages/restaurants but far enough away to be quiet. If we go back to Haarlem this will be the first place we look!

LOVED MAF Haarlem. The hotel is beautiful, unique, eclectic...all the aesthetic you want out of a boutique hotel. The breakfast was delicious, the room was stylish and comfortable, the service was fantastic. 10/10

MAF is a sophisticated establishment with style and comfort. The staff (particularly Andrew) were extremely friendly and helpful giving advice on what to choose. The blue cheese Bitterbollen are the best and the coffee the best I've had in Haarlem.

Delicious food with new takes on classic dishes. The place is beautiful, food amazing and prices reasonable.

Spacious chic rooms. The decor is truly unique and quirky.

Place under renovation, fantastic value for the offered food, great ingredients, great burger (only 8€)..topppp!!

Recommended as inspiring venue for shopping-break-lunch. Definitely try the edamame sandwich...loved it!
