It costs 50 ringgit for a foreigner to go into the national park now. Make sure you have cash as they didn't take card. It's a conservation fee and I think it's worth it as this park has been well looked after!

The park offers multiple hiking / walking / beach opportunities. Hikers at the front entrance need to pay 50 ringgit to enter. The lush tropical jungle views are beautiful and one can run into a lot of local flora and fauna. There is a bit of an issue with trash on the beach but it is a common problem in the area unfortunately where lots of trash that is being washed out from the sea. The water is murky due to the presence of mud in the water. Bring lots of water with you as it is always hot but good length of the hikes are done under in the shade of the trees. Bring sunscreen and also be aware of local ticks and tick spray would be helpful. With all that it is a great experience and well worth it.

Certainly worth paying 50 MYR entry fee as a foreigner. Foreign students only pay 20 MYR. People at the office are friendly and explain everything.

A boat with driver can be rented for an additional 100 MYR to get to Turtle Beach one-way. Up to 10 people get onto one boat and split the bill. Definitely recommend this since the hike through the forest is quite exhausting.

General advice: Do not hike on a rainy day since the path through the forest is sandy and goes up and down. Very dangerous and slippery when wet!

No need to pay for entrance fee, just scan QR to fill in google form for the purpose of your visit with personal contact info. The hiking trail is consider medium to hard level, depend on the route you go and the distance you walk. If want to finish all the route then is around 20km+.

If you just want to go to the pantai kerachut that area then the trail toward there is medium level, just make sure wear a suitable shoe and if got rain then might be slippery. The pantai there is so quiet and chilling, but is prohibited for swimming activity due to danger terrain.

There is a campsite beside the pantai, the facility looks abandoned but at least the tap water still functioning and got some table and cooking place.

Beautiful place to visit, suitable for a good weekend short getaway experience. 1 and half hour hike to reach Pantai Keracut.

Well organized, and prepared a bit expensive... 50 MYR to enter and 100 MYR for the boat... But beautiful... Monkey Beach is a bit dirty, and the monkey's sometimes try to unpack your bags and escape with your belongings to the top of the trees... Take care!

I love this national park! Went here 3 times already! First went to monkey beach, second wanted to go further but the parh5were closed due to avalanche, so went to kerachut beach instead. Third, the path was still blocked, so went to monkey beach only. Oh, it was all for free!

Great day out hiking to Pantai Kerachut. We arrived at the parks entrance and were met by very helpful staff who explained our route options. (Note:monkey beach trail is currently closed) our walk to Kerachut took us around 1hr 10mins and was not too difficult. It is completely worth the hike. We opted for a boat return and arranged a pick up time with a drop off to monkey beach en route. Monkey beach - well it does have monkeys. But the beach itself is extremely run down. Probably because of covid which is very unfortunate, maybe in time they will clean it up and bring it back to life. But until then I wouldn't reccomend going at the moment as it was very unclean and not much going on. Our highlight of our trip to Penang was most definitely the hike to Kerachut beach! Take plenty of water as nowhere to buy any - at least 1.5 litres each.

This place is awesome. Free of charge if you only hike. If you want boat service you will have to pay. Great hiking. Friendly people. Beautiful jungle and beaches. Come visit! The hikes range from easy to moderately hard. I’m a fit person and I got winded a couple times on a few parts of inclines. It was also slippery because of rain, so expect to get muddy.

The rating is for the park itself. Nice jungle walk (not suitable for those with any ambulatory constraints) to beautiful beaches and views. We walked to Turtle Beach and then took boats (prebooked at the vendors near the entrance to the park) to Monkey Beach where we had a swim and some great food cooked by a local family on the beach before taking our boat back to the entrance. The trail to that part was closed by landslide. Great day out.

One of the Best Public Trail

Distance is actually about 4km, only managed to trail to Turtle Beach:Takes about 1 hour 30 mins if you have kids.

Some part of trail going uphill have proper stone steps while others are just red soil trails with ropes to assist the ascent/descent.

If you do not want to hike back, best to approach the boats reaching the beach to discuss terms of boat ride.

Nothing at Turtle Beach,no stalls selling drinks and food so better to bring your own water and food/snacks, and please take your rubbish back. There are no dustbins there.

There are few trails available for tracking with zero fee. Well maintained trails with easy tracking that ends in a beach. You may pre- book a boat trip for return (RM100 for two-per boat) or RM150 per boat if opted later upon completion of the trail. A must go experience for all nature lovers.

Superb trekking.... Nice boat tour. Recommended to go by trekking and come back by boat. A trip to pantai keracut and trekking to light house is worth the view

Great place to trek in Penang. The path from visitor center to Kerachut Beach is mainly under tree shades and the slope is not so steep. There is a lake at the end of the path. Kerachut Beach is beautiful, but swimming is not permitted.

Great park and walk! Monkey Beach was dirty and cramped with shacks selling food, pony rides, jet skis.... Turtle Beach is quite a hike but beautiful. No swimming allowed there due to jellyfish infested waters and endangered turtles. Boat guys can be hired at the beach and you can negotiate to join others if you are a solo traveler. Paid 20 to get monkey beach but I wish I'd hung out at Turtle for longer. Walk is not easy. Path is washed out and steep.

Great place to hike and chill at Kerachut Beach. It is also the gateway to Monkey Beach and Muka Head Lighthouse but route has been closed due to landslide (boat option still available)

Great and challenging track. Beautiful scenery at the end. I really wish they will fix the monkey beach track. It's been so many years i went there for hiking and could only used the pantai kerachut track.

I often come here for a hike to pantai Kerachut whenever I can during my holiday to Penang. It's about 3.7 km easy hike from the national park registration counter to pantai Kerachut. It will take about 45 min to 1.5 hour depending on your pace. It's a worthwhile hike because at the end of the trail a beautiful beach awaits you.

Very nice place. Bus lines 101 and 102 can pick you up / drop off at differenzmt points. Its easy to find driver with "Grab" (app) several nice hicking trails in the national park. Bring water with you. Trail to monkey beach closed due to landslide..but you get close and you can rent a boat to monkey beach & lighthouse or to turtle beach if you dont want hiking.
