Pak Tam Mee Udang

A very elusive , yet gorgeous spot on the other side of the unexplored island with serene views of the ocean and dining right on the sand !!
Very fresh seafood and mee taste like traditional malay prawn noodles!

On the Southern edge of Penang, well off the beaten path sits this eatery along the beach in the Teluk Kumbar area. A few wooden huts make up the restaurant and you can either dine al-fresco or there are some shaded dining tables too in case it rains. Parking is never a problem since it's open land by the beach. and you're greeted by a table where a "receptionist" takes your order. Then you're free to choose where you want to sit.

The dishes are packed with some of the freshest seafood you will ever taste. My friends and I went a bit overboard, and decided to have not only the mee with prawns and squid, but also ordered the dry variety and also an XL version of the mee along with a cucur.

All were excellent, though I did have a penchant for the mee udang kering (fred) one. The cucur was made fresh to order and was packed with delicious bit of fried seafood.

What's not to like about dining by the beach, having good food and watching the flights making final approach towards the airport from the sea?!

Dont be deceive by its looks. Before you enter the Warong, you will be welcome by the staff there to help you order in advance.

My first time I come here, i am shocked to see so many prawns in my dish! Seriously, not a small smal one. For the price of RM12, you will get not one, not two but five prawns! And let me tell you it is super delicious! Chinese love to come here and now i know why. Aside from that you must try the Cucur. Only RM7, but masyaAllah, by far the best i ever had.

We ordered Mee Udang & meehoon Udang. RM10 per plate with five prawns. Prawns were very fresh and nicely decorated. Enjoy a plate of prawn noodles with the cool sea breeze blowing away...

Fantastic good food good scenery and just look at the pic this is 1 trip. We went for 2nd trip and the taste is still good and we had mee goreng ketam à+ size....wow it is a+ lah...sorry no pic lupa sudah.

A must stop whenever we are back in Penang! Easily accessible through 2nd bridge & head towards Teluk Kumbar . I just loved the location it is secluded away from the city . You have to pass through a small village & a a fresh water lake then you will find the stall right smacked on the beach of Teluk Bayu . The owner Pak Tam are very friendly. A fisherman local man . His wife & children helped him .
The setting of the hideout are so relaxing. An open air concept.
Pak Tam’s favourite are Mee Udang ( prawn mee with yellow noodle & semi spicy gravy) & Mee Ketam ! You can choose yellow noodle or koay teow ( thin white noodle) . Price wise are considered cheap in town & the portion are big✌😋 . Range between RM10-15 only! No regrets value for money✌👍🏼

Pak Tam Mee Udang located at Pantai Teluk Bayu, Penang. Located at beachfront, the ambiance is superb as it is windy and kids can play at the beach.

The gravy is less spicy, suitable for those who is not a fan of spicy food. Prawns is fresh and firm.

Good to take your family for outings by the beach. Forget Batu Feringgi, come here instead for picnic.

Food stall on the beach. Easy to find the place by using GPS. It leads you to enter the long long way of narrow stony road with weeds plants ☘ growing at both sides, our car have to be driven in a very careful manner. Go to the end you reached the 🏖 beach side, and you can see the signage PAK TAM MEE UDANG infront of you. Plenty of parking. We ordered Mee udang, RM12.00/pax. The noodles were tasty and the prawns🦐 were so fresh. Go early to avoid the crowd. Overall it was a fantastic day. Definitely will return.

Well kept secret of the locals. Enjoy tasty foods by the beach, under the shades of trees with cool wind blowing gently. No large crowd here so you can enjoy your leisurely stroll.

Super Seaview, natural tree, dinning in the nature with this delicious prawn noodle Malay style. Super fresh prawn for sure. Nice teh tarik not too sweet.

Wow sedappppp. Prawn fresh, 5 pieces i a plate. Order the original. The maggi udang hv different taste as the perencah maggi , i think, was mixed together with gravy.
