Plenty seated available. Plenty of staff, all ready to serve. The ambience here is great, and lots of special facilities make here more unique. Order all medium size when come out all looks nearly large portion.

Ordered 8 dishes, can say so all delicious. For me i like the most is the clay-pot grouper and the bamboo clam with special chili topping (but i just got one only, others got snatched by friends).

Price also won't expensive for this kind of place. RM450 for 8 people. Will come visit again next time at sunset time.

Nice cosy place by the sea, great for sunset if the weather cooperates. Good was served super fast, I'd say faster than Big M!

Price is relatively decent, a bit on the high side for locals but for international pricing it's relatively affordable.

The highlight dish was the garlic pork. Superbly fried and fragrant!

Crab sizes are very limited, only small under 1kg ones available. 600g seem to be their biggest.

Staff are all friendly and helpful. They explained the dishes and prices clearly when we asked.

Travelling there might be an issue, we didn't have problem getting grab out but it seems that common feedback is grab doesn't work there.

Extremely delicious sea food with a beautiful view of the sea. The food came out really quickly and was delicious. The sweet and sour pork with the ice was also quite intriguing and unlike any other I’d tried.

We indulged in a lavish pre-New Year’s feast at Hai Boey, a charming beachfront eatery nestled at the bend of the beach. .Our palates were treated to an exquisite array of ten dishes :

1. Japan Salad ( yee sang) - a vibrant, festive toss of prosperity. The roasted sesame mayonnaise blend of dressing ties the fruits and vegetables together smoothing out the contrasting flavours into a harmonious blend with nutty notes and a creamy finish.
2. Succulent fried meatballs with brinjal - golden and crispy.
3. Tenderly boiled baby octopus, prepared for dipping in sweet chilli sauce.
4 sar hor fun - a silky, savory noodle delightfully , fried evoking the distinct ‘ wok hei ‘
5. Steamed lala - each bite brimming with the ocean’s essence.
6. Two variations of chili crabs—one laced with velvety egg, the other in its pure, unadorned glory.
7. Clay pot steamed fish in soy sauce, its delicate flavors gently wafting through the steam.
8. Deep-fried tofu, a crisp exterior yielding to a soft, pillowy heart.
9. Fried bitter gourd with eggs, a harmonious blend of textures and tastes.
10. Sweet and sour pork, ingeniously immersed in ice, offering a refreshing contrast.

The dinner was not just a meal, but a celebration of flavours, each dish meticulously savoured, leaving us in joyful anticipation of the next culinary marvel. The night was a symphony of tastes, a memorable gastronomic journey we embraced with great zest, leaving no plate untouched, no flavour unappreciated.

Despite the picturesque beachfront setting, the absence of a refreshing sea breeze left the atmosphere slightly stifling and warm, casting a veil of lethargy over our spirited gathering. The service, too, echoed this lack of finesse, with the staff’s hurried and unpolished demeanor. Yet, these nuances faded into the background, overshadowed by the restaurant’s undeniable forte—their exquisite food. We found ourselves drawn here, not for the ambiance or service, but for the sheer brilliance of their culinary creations, a testament to where their true strength lies.

An underrated dining experience. Hai Boey’s food surprised us. Presentation was nothing close to food presentation from other seafood restaurants we have been to and the taste does not disappoint too.

Great food plus a great sunset view, great friends and good stories, just a perfect setting.

Parking during opening hours (5pm) is a breeze. You’ll be greeted at the entrance by fresh fish, crabs, lobsters clams and more in their aquariums.

Ordering is fast and food is served very fast. But this might be different on peak days/hours.

Our Penang friends brought us to this seafood restaurant with a nice beach front. It is a great place to have dinner and enjoy the sunset.

Fantastic food by the seaside where you can take the chance to take some pictures of the sea and a large Octopus statue.

Food was adequately seasoned with little to no MSG, and the seafood was fresh and well cooked. Highly recommended to order their clams with the sour and spicy sauce.

Had been visiting this restaurant many times ( I always visited this restaurant on each trip to Penang). Their seafood was fresh and delicious, also other dishes at a reasonable price. Located at the seaside, it offers a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. Highly recommended this restaurant

First time visiting here, overall food is great, the crab we took is Thai Butter style which is so so, but all other dishes is simply delicious, for the crab perhaps bake or black pepper would be nicer. Will visit again.

Very crowded on weekend dinner. Food is reasonably priced, variety and quality is great, and service is attentive. Spend some time on the beach all the way to Khunthai and back, while enjoying the dusk view.

Located at the South West of Penang Island, in Hokkien Hai Boey means the end of the beach. But the seafood is anything but the end. Nice, tasty and crunchy were words we used to describe the dishes. Would recommend you to text them via WhatsApp where they will share a google form to book the time a lot and pre-order your dishes. Well organised with plenty of parking space. Highly recommended.

We watched the most beautiful sunset. The food was lovely. Fried rice is the best! Lots of sea food options. We also swam in the sea right outside the restaurant.

Awesome seafood restaurant. So far the best seafood restaurant I have tried in Penang. Price slightly higher but you definitely get high quality and seafood. Fast serving and attentive staffs. Their cuttle fish is really fresh, all the seafood are a tasty and the combinations are really good. Do try their golden seafood balls. Really crispy at the outside and inside was juicy. Highly recommended for family gathering. Even their bitter gourd with eggs were excellent. Salute to this restaurant. Awesome scenery as well.
