Carpe Diem Mazunte Casitas & Villas

Lizzy and her staff are incredible. There are many cats all around which add to the magical nature and the atmosphere and pool are absolutely stellar. It is extremely centrally located in Mazunte and I highly recommend checking them out. The restaurant and smoothies are also top-notch and we felt like we wanted to extend our trip there just to continue staying at this hotel. Highly recommend!

We had our wedding here last month and had the most wonderful experience. Reyna and the whole staff were absolutely lovely and so accommodating to us and all of our guests. Reyna worked with our wedding planner to create the best event and also scheduled us fun activities to do on the side. The food and drinks were incredible. We loved relaxing by the pool and eating all the amazing food including the best pasta! The family of cats was definitely a highlight. Thank you Carpe Diem for hosting us we can’t wait to come back.

What a beautiful property! There is a fully staffed kitchen, multiple bars, and three pools on site. You could easily stay here and never leave the property, they have everything you need!

I'm so happy to see that Carpe Diem gets mostly 5 stars! They deserve it. First of all people, this is a Women Owned Business!! They have put a lot of effort into insuring that their guests have a memorable stay. Upon checking in, we were welcomed and shown to our villa. We were there for a wedding and reserved Villa Amanecer which is a beautiful 4 bedroom 2 bath villa. It accommodated our family beautifully. The villa was clean and well appointed, bathroom had towels, shampoo and conditioner. We had a 5 gallon jug of purified water delivered daily as the weather was very warm and we were drinking a lot. All bedrooms have A/C which made our stay extra comfortable as it was quite hot and humid when we were there. Lissie and Reyna, the owners, could not have been more accommodating and personable. I can't say enough about them. I felt like we were staying with friends. Carpe Diem is located up a hill, about a 10 minute walk to the beach. It's a nice walk. The views from the kitchen in the villa are of the ocean and it was so nice to wake up to ocean views every day. We had a big private deck that was perfect for hanging out and we had a view of the pool. We ate mostly ALL of our meals at Carpe Diem and the food was delicious. We had 6 children with us and they were constantly "special" ordering and the extremely friendly and good cooks accommodated their every need. On one of our first days there, the grandma of the bride had a medical emergency, and Lissie was right there helping out with contacting a doctor, translating, and support. As if she isn't busy enough! Another unexpected bonus was that Lissie has 3 wonderful children of her own who perfectly integrated themselves with our gang and all the children played and had the best time together. I also want to note that one of us got a massage and it was said that his massage was one of the best he's ever had! Thank you Lissie, Reyna and your wonderful staff for the best week ever❤

Definitely one of the best hotels we have ever been to! Can’t complain about anything, we were super happy with our stay. We got the beautiful room with nice terrace and a view over the swimming pool area. The hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful environment surrounded by nature. It’s a place to chill out, reconnect with nature and explore Mazunte. The hotel’s stuff was super helpful and kind to us doing their best to make our stay better. We can totally recommend it!

Wow. So many great things to say about this oasis. I slept so well. Staff are attentive. Beds are super comfy. Really clean rooms (linens smell great!) and property is lovingly maintained. Several pool options and a new welcoming Carpe Diem outdoor shower to rinse off the day...and ...the food...a good deal and varied, everything looked delicious. Even our super frugal German friend approves! Only suggestions would be add some hooks in bathroom, DND cards for folks not wanting service and bedside rugs. Absolutely will stay again if I return to the area. Thank you ALL

Carpe Diem is the best place for an unforgettable stay in magical pueblo Mazunte!! Such a beautifully designed site with amazing vegetation, service and food! A nice healthy 7 min walk to the beaches. Spacious rooms, confortable beds, hot water showers and a/c. Thanking my hosts friends for memorable vacations. Going back there as often as I can.💛🌅

So glad I accidentally found this place. Was aiming for another hotel but it was full booked and too far up the hill anyway. I passed Carpe Diem and popped in. Not only did I love the vibe right away but they had a room. I planned to stay one night, ended up staying five! The staff are super friendly and accommodating. The space is amazing. Lots of great details and care put into this place. There’s three resident cats and I adore them. The upstairs yoga / meditation area has an amazing view and is always quiet. The two pools are a little small but great for cooling off. And the food is fantastic. Only the smoothies could use some work but everything else is better than anything I tried in town. And great value for the money. I love how quiet the space is, yet is just a 5 minute walk into the town. Best of both worlds. It’s also super close to punta cometa, it’s great being able to go watch the sunset in just a 10 minute walk! Next time I’m in Mazunte I’m coming back to Carpe Diem.

We had breakfast here and it was delicious. I had the enchiladas suiza and my husband had the avocado toast with a fried egg on top. Highly recommend. Beautiful surroundings with colorful plants, trees and swimming pool.

We stayed twice here over the last year, most recently in early November for 7 nights. We love Carpe Diem for its beauty, chilled vibe, friendly staff, great food and the spaciousness of the 2-level casitas with their balconies with hammocks. The walk into “town” is short (although it’s hilly so you will get some exercise lol) which is a plus also. They have 3 pools none of which is either large or deep for that matter but that’s not a deal breaker for us. We will happily return to Carpe Diem on our next visit to Mazunte! ❤

We stayed only 3 nights at this outstanding and special place, we wished we could have stayed much and much longer. The rooms were just perfect, spacious, a balcony with hammocks and a (partly) outside bathroom with views to the stars! The staff was very attentive and incredibly welcoming. The three (!!) pools were very relaxing and the food was great too! Despite a hurricane only 4 weeks before our arrival the staff did a tremendous job to recover this place back its original charm.

El lugar está muy bonito, espacioso, ambiente tranquilo, con albercas, hamacas y espacios abiertos para hacer yoga. Tienen restaurant dentro y es riquísimo, la gente es muy amable. Está caminando a la playa y cerca de tiendas.
