This place is heaven on earth. Definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Perfectly located on the beach, seemingly everything has been thought of from sun loungers allocated to individual rooms and in the shade most of the day, to well equipped kitchenettes. The manager Paco is a gem - incredibly welcoming and helpful to a fault. Our room (2) was lovely - large comfortable bed, aircon, balcony and views up the beach. The independently run bar/restaurant is fantastic - great breakfasts and lunches and again excellent service with a smile. So good we wanted to extend our holiday and come back but it was fully booked!

This place totally rocks! From the moment you check in to check-out the service is impeccable. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. Paco at the front desk was awesome. He’s a local and gave us great recommendations for a neighboring town that we’re spot on with what we were looking for. He even let us stay a little bit after our checkout to use some of the dedicated lounge chairs. Highly recommend! The beach is fantastic. Although it’s not quite in the town of Mazunte, it’s in the town called San Augustillo and it’s very quiet and peaceful, perfect for a couples retreat or even a solo getaway. Great vibe.

I’m soooo grateful I found Casa Bagus last minute. I had driven down to Puerto Escondido from Oaxaca with no Hotel reservation, as I wanted to visit the various beach-towns & hotels to find my vibe.

I hadnt heard of San Agustinillo but after seeing Casa Bagus online, I came for a visit and the beach vibes & the hotel itself was exactly what I needed. I stayed 2 nights but could have stayed a week.

Casa Bagus is a beautifully designed boutique apartment/hotel. 5 star quality. Has everything you need for a few days or week’s stay. Full kitchen, spacious comfortable room, shower and living room. You get your own balcony with lounge chairs assigned. Every bit of detail & design was thought thoroughly by the lovely female owner.

Hotel Restaurant: Delicious food, great service & selection. I recommend their Ceviche (Tuna was the fresh caught of day), YUM.

Beachfront: not as crowded as others. Has high waves, good for surfers but a bit intimidating to swim. It is quieter at night but if you want to party, you can take a 10 min taxi to Mazunte or Zipolite.

Sunsets: One of the best spots for sunset is along the beach here. You can walk the stretch of the beach or just chill on the sand.

Boatrides: You can take morning Boat rides for Dolphin & Whale watching just a 3 minute walk from the hotel. LOVED!

We loved Casa Bagus. The setting could not be more magical. The food is simple and delicious and Manon and her team take great care of everyone. Our room was clean and beautiful and the children were welcomed most warmly. I dream of a return there!

The place is literally on the beach. The rooms are great. The food is solid.

Our only critique is that the restaurant closes early so an in room mini-fridge would go a long way after 6pm.

This place is really a piece of paradise - we would recommend it a million times over!

Manu and the staff were very kind and accommodating, striking the perfect balance between providing a very personal and friendly service which makes you feel part of the family whilst also respecting your privacy.

Location is fantastic - it was amazing to wake up in the morning to amazing sunrises and be right on the beach just mere metres from the sea with views all down the beach. We also loved the restaurant there (La Perla Negra) - we ate there a few times and each time the food was superb.

We can’t wait to visit again!

Casa bagus is a true tropical Paradise! Unbeatable! The staff made us feel at home upon arrival and went above and beyond, very very friendly and accommodating. Had incredible meals during our stay at The black pearl restaurant. We loved ordering breakfast and dinner on the beach. We had a bottom floor room which means you’re literally on the beach. You have your own designated hammock and beach chairs with an umbrella. I can’t wait to come back, for a longer stay next time!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Casa Bagus in San Agustinillo and I must say, it was a five-star experience from start to finish. The location of the hotel is exceptional, situated on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mazunte area. The service provided by Gabby and Manon was above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and accommodating. The hotel is just steps away from great swimming, boat tours, and surf lessons. The rooms were clean and comfortable with an unforgettable view of the ocean. The sounds of crashing waves are perfect to fall asleep too. The restaurant is also fantastic - great food, great service, all friendly folks. Overall, I highly recommend Casa Bagus to anyone looking for an unforgettable vacation experience in San Agustinillo. Thank you, Gabby and Manon, for making our stay so memorable!

This is just a great place, we stayed here a week and enjoyed every minute of it. Right on a beautiful beach with warm water and a wonderful view. Very nice accommodations and very clean. But what really sets this place apart is it’s staff. Gabby was a wonderful host, went out of her way to take care of us. Always happy and made us feel right at home. This also trickled down to the rest of the staff. The restaurant had great food especially the ceviche and sea food. We are coming back

This is a lovely hotel with wonderfully helpful staff. The restaurant although separate from the hotel was a great place to eat with great ceviche and drinks. Only hotel, that we saw, that was immediately in front of a green flag for swimming (we stayed late September). Most of the other beaches in Mazunte, Zipolite, and other end of Agustinillo had red flags and very strong waves. Still needed to be careful with the big waves, but excellent location if swimming in the ocean is your priority. Right on the beach and lovely sounds of waves all day and night. We loved our stay.

Casa Bagus has been a place where I felt like home. Travelling on my own, I felt directly welcomed by Gabi and Manon who spend the whole stay accommodating so I could have the best stay possible. Fabiola, Carlos, all the team was very kind, and caring.
Then you have the Restaurant, led by Oscar working along side Flor! Que Rico. I highly recommend the Tacos de Pescado and… las pastas Rosada !
Thank you very much to the all team for making the stay incredible, y a tu Manon for your beautiful energy and care !
Also, yes the room are amazing with a stunning view on the ocean, and very quiet :)

Beautiful slice of beach paradise. The property is small, with each room using reserved beach space, and balconies with hammocks and benches. The restaurant serves fresh local fish done to perfection, and the owner/host is friendly, welcoming and dedicated to ensuring you have a good time.

I wish we could have stayed longer.

We have stayed in many places in Mexico, but this was hands down one of the best experiences. First of all, the location is ideal. The hotel – including the rooms themselves – is directly on the beach. Many hotels are “on the beach,” but your room may be a bit of a walk. We were literally 4 steps from our front door to the sand. The rooms are clean and comfortable with very strong Air Conditioning. The chef Oscar is terrific – without question the best meals we had were served to us by Oscar’s team right on the beach. Manu, the manager, was spectacular – very friendly and helpful, making us feel like we were staying with family. Finally, the location of the hotel itself is right by a very swimmable part of the ocean, which is unique on a beach where most of the locations have big waves that are dangerous to swim in.

DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!

We loved our stay at Casa Bagus, the perfect spot on the beach in San Agustinillo. A large tastefully decorated room and great matress and pillows. The service was great and the host Mano made out stay memorable. Thank you. Also the chef Oscar and the crew prepared delicious mexican dishes and cocktails.

Incredible staff, food, accommodations and an unbeatable location for travelers with kids.

We came on our first trip to Oaxaca for an extended family vacation with three generations ranging from 7 years old to 83 and booked all 4 of the 6 rooms for 8 days.

Activities: Manon made all the arrangements from our airport pickup to the incredible mangroves & crocodile sanctuary, baby turtle conservation release and whale watching (swimming with dolphins!) tours, dinner recommendations and reservations to our on-site PCR test for our return. The mobile massage service that Manon arranged was out-of-this-world and 10/10 would recommend booking this

Food: Chef Oscar and his staff at the in-house restaurant, El Perla Negra, kept us fed with beautiful, delicious and clean food for many of our meals and beachside beverages. The coconut shrimp and ceviche were our favourite lunchtime dishes.

Location: Because Casa Bagus is located at the west end of the main beach of San Agustinillo, the setup is perfect for our family with different water sport needs. The beach to the east around the point was perfect for experienced surfers, the beach straight out for boogie boarding and bobbing in the water and the Playa Bébe to the west is great for swimming and snorkeling. It was much quieter than Mezunte and Zipolite especially in the evening and walking distance to several great quality restaurants.

Accommodations: the rooms are beautiful, clean, well-appointed with memory foam mattresses and good water pressure in the showers. The sunbed zone was perfect for cooling off or tanning, swinging in the hammocks or checking emails in the open dining room. The air-conditioning is adjustable and they even have a basket of bug repellent and sunscreen in case you forget yours. We felt comfortable, safe and so well taken care of.

My 7 year old says "the Pina Colada's are great!" We leave today and are already planning our return!

This hotel should have a five star rating. It is immaculately clean, right on the beach, spacious, and has great service. I recommend trying to book room 1 as it is right on the beach - the view is stunning. The service of the hotel is above and beyond. My flights were cancelled and the hotel staff sat on hold for two hours for me so that I could get it rebooked. Their kindness and willingness to help is way more than I could ever imagine. They were also very accommodating for our visitors as we were here for a wedding so we had lots of people stopping by and it was never an issue. It was a quiet and safe place that I highly recommend. I know I will definitely be coming back!

Casa Bagus is the best stay. Our room was lovely: Spacious with a firm foam mattress, powerful air con we only used for 5 mins each time, fan, large terrace with a hammock overlooking the gorgeous San Agustinillo beach… Manu and her staff are delightful and full of great advice on where to eat, drink, party, explore, or simply chill. The restaurant has the best revitalizing breakfasts, including green juices and Mexican entomatadas, enfrijoladas, chilaquiles, huevos divorciados, etc all cooked to perfection. And it’s quiet: We even got home in the morning after a crazy night out on new year’s and were able to close the door and curtains and sleep like babies to the sound of waves rolling in and out. Bliss! Thank you, Manu & team. We will be back!!
