Sonoran Sun Resort

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sonoran Sun Resort. Beautiful pools, great beach access. Quiet area, not chaotic or busy like downtown. Secure parking and nice amenities onsite. We enjoyed having lunch poolside as well, the Birria tacos were great!

We really enjoyed our place here! We booked through the hotel and the rooms were very clean and up to date and welcoming. The kids loved the pull out couch as a “magic” bed and I loved the patio every morning. Fantastic pool, right by beach, couldn’t afford a place like this anywhere else so we loved it!

Gorgeous resort at the end of Sandy Beach. Very friendly town, you will enjoy it!

This our third time staying here and it’s a great experience. Rooms have always been clean and organized. The rooms are more like condominiums. Kitchen, fridge, dining area and living space to rest a little. Staff are professional and friendly.

Excellent Sandy Beach resort with easy access to ocean and pool. Elevators offer quick easy access to condo. Our condo was well maintained and well stocked with everything we needed to cook. Excellent balcony with great views of the sea and pool area. Good security in the entire complex area. Pool is divided into 3 areas: adults with swim up bar; larger general area and an area for kids; bar area serves drinks and tasty food, like nachos & tacos. Our 4 day stay was wonderful. Getting to the malecon restaurants was easy.

Listen love it or hate it but the drive to Mexico 🇲🇽 🤪... can be tough but u can't beat the environment for the cost. And remember it's kilometers speed limits and that's the other numbers on ur speedometer 11-15mph through the town by the border and after that it's as fast as u can till u hit the beach.. and get the ground floor save ur back of unloading and repacking. Bring ur favorite beer and ice and water and u'll bee just fine.

First time all my family like it alot great service friendly people ,just great next time we know were to stay..we stayed at palomas before wi will never go back at that place worst service ever

Beautiful resort! Each condo is truly ocean front. The staff are always very helpful at the front desk. The HOA keeps up the property beautifully. My family feels safe with 24/7 security of the grounds and parking. There is a restaurant on site, convenience store, and even a spa for massage. It’s minutes from town by car if you want more dinning and shopping options.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 days in July. Very clean unit, Well appointed, beautiful views from the spacious balcony. Small hiccup upon arrival but the owner Tom was super fast to respond and rectified the issues immediately.
Property was very well maintained. Pool has a swim-up bar and grill (WITH A HAPPY HOUR)!
Overall great stay and we will hopefully book very soon.

Might be a new favorite holiday destination. Amazing views, fantastic accomodations. The unbelievable experience of having the whole family together in one place for the occasion for the first time in so many years may have made the experience seem even more dream-like than it would have been otherwise but nevertheless...it was truly joyous and enormously restorative to be there.

Great resort but watch out for Mexican police in border town. A bunch of crooks pulling US drivers over and wanting $$.

Loved it! We stayed in a seven room suite and it was so nice. Two full kitchens made it easy to cook for our entire family that stayed together in the suite for Thanksgiving.
The staff was so friendly and kind- especially the convenience shop gal.
Convenience store had all the little extras that we needed to cook our meals.
The beach was clean. A good variety of critters in the water to see. The tide pools at night were really fun to explore!
If you don't have enough hats, smoothies, burritos, and souvenirs, the beach-sellers have plenty that you can buy!
The pool was fun. There's a really cold pool, a heated one, a mild hot tub, and a piping hot one- something for everybody.

Overall, it was a really great experience.
We'll definitely be back!

Thanksgiving in Mexico. The Sonoran Sun has become our quick get away spot.

Great place to come and get away! They have a wonderful poolside bar. The one pool is heated if you are there during the cooler months like we were. They have a pretty good restaurant on site if you don't want to leave. And they have a little shop for some food and drink if you'd like to stay in your condo. We'll definitely be back soon.

Was just perfect for our couples vacation. We definetly went out of season but loved it. Resort still had one of pools heated and there was a hot tub. People used them daily. Also pool bar and other resturant and bar on property. I believe pool bar only open on weekends this time of year. Other resturant and bar also close 2 days (I think Tuesday & Wednesday). Very nice well kept beautiful place with ocean views out of this world!

Beautiful room..very clean. Was not made aware of the extra deposit that would be required at check in by the hotel....at the time of booking.. so beware. It's 300.00 above the booking costs. Other than that... exactly what I expected. And once again.. Rocky Point is on Point! My happy place! 😊

This is such a nice resort. One pool is heated during winter months. Went first weekend of April and it was still on. Pool bar at heated pool from like 11-5 something like that. Has pvt and public beach area next to Banna boats and Jet ski rentals. Restrooms near the pool. All rooms are close to the water and beach. There's a store to buy ice and a little bit of everything. We rented a condo on the fourth floor corner that was spectacular. Shower water was hot and spot was easy to check in. Everyone was kind and I loved that it wasn't overcrowded like other resorts. 10 min drive from downtown rocky point.

Beautiful, Clean, Comfortable and Extremely Safe Resort! Food is tasty especially poolside bu the swim up bar. Variety of tasty drinks available at the swim up bar.
Everyone is super friendly and accommodating! Check in is a breeze-(no hidden fees) Can't wait to go back!
