Mondavi Wellness Resort and Spa

This hotel is located about 15 to 20 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta in what I think is the conchas chinas area. It's a smaller hotel and I wouldn't really call it a resort.

But I found the rooms to be very nice. Mine included a deck, a kitchenette and a surprisingly nice shower.

There was a nice pool and (working) hot tub on the top floor overlooking the beach and the Grandview hotel next door. The views for my room were amazing.

The staff was friendly, especially the manager, Sergio, who is extremely nice and helpful and brought me a coffee when I said I had forgotten to get coffee for the coffee maker in the room.

It's a little isolated and there's not a lot to do in the area so you have to be prepared to walk or drive. (It's located on a hill which is pretty steep, so if you're going to walk anywhere, you have to be prepared to walk up and down some pretty strenuous cobblestone roads).

You can go to the Grandview next door and get a drink and eat (note: it's an all-inclusive resort) and you can walk down to the Patio Azul hotelita and get something to eat and drink there.

There are also options to get delivery to the hotel. And it's not really that far to beaches and zona romantica. (Note: a lot of the resorts in the area are gated and you have to be staying there to get in). But if I were staying there I would probably rent a car and depending on what I wanted to do and how long I wanted to stay.

I would definitely stay there again if I were staying in that area.

We all had rental cars. the way up and down is easier after a few tries. I lucky enough to see a lot of the rooms in this hotel :) we stayed in the two king master bedroom suite w the circle jacuzzi in room 502. Worth Every Penny!!! All our window had an ocean view even in the shower 👌. We made great use of the fully stocked kitchen. We bought seasoning and food from Walmart so them not having a restaurant didn’t bother us. we also got detergent and washed our clothes, At the moment the room doesn’t have a washer and dryer but they let us use the washer and dryer in a different suite. They also have a very friendly staff who can wash your clothes and it smelled terrific. My cousins and her parents each got the studio rooms and my friend was across the hall from me in the huge studio suite they had just renovated. My friends cousin joined her later on our trip and their room was a one bedroom and also had a jacuzzi.
The management and staff are extremely helpful they even gave my cousin a ride when they had rental car problems. The closest beach is conchas chinas which is one of the prettiest in Vallarta. The Oxxo is the closest food and it an easy trip down the way off the Main Street. It’s super close to all the attractions and furthest away from the ruckus and so dark at night the stars were very bright. I would love to come back :)

Loved it here! Incredible view and comfortable room. Javier treated us really well. We really enjoyed the pool and also the fact that we felt safe during the pandemic.

Beautiful place, loved the pool . I got alot of sun up there. Watched whales form our balcony. And the employees were very helpful and kind . Loved it definitely will return

It's a bit difficult to move around if you don't have a car. We would have liked to be able to get around by walking. But as there's Uber in Vallarta, it's ok and the staff also gave us a ride sometimes. Would definitely come back!

The room was clean and spacious. Staff was ever so friendly and accommodating. Restaurant serves bfast and lunch but menu is extremely limited. My view from the balcony was incredible. I would absolutely stay again.

The Mondavi is literally on top of the world! There is a amazing view from the rooftop pool area that features a infinity pool/jacuzzi and it is like floating in the sky! Clean rooms covered in marble, a comfortable bed and friendly staff and owner make this nest above the city a undervalued treasure in Puerto Vallarta. They really made me feel like royalty here and I will be recomending it to anyone visiting this sun soaked region of Mexico.

Loved it. Great place to relax and enjoy. Everyone here goes out of their way to make you feel like family. Oh! And the sceneryis beautiful. Looking forward to coming back!!!

What a wonderful place to stay !!! I couldn't believe how quite it was. Our view facing the water was amazing. Staff is friendly, helpful. I can't wait to go back.

Sergio and his staff were amazing! Responded to every need and provided superior service. Not to mention you get a million dollar view for an amazing price! I will definitely be back to Mondavi!

Zazu'ing a mile or so up while resting upon "Paseo de los Corales" within the lushly landscaped hills of Conchas Chinas, sits this tranquil wellness resort and spa that's about as close to Heaven as Heaven gets for those seeking to avoid the tourist traps and hotel heists.

With more amenities than Banzai, you'd have to be Rafiki not to fall in love with this place.

I'm talking the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I've encountered in eons (Sergio, you're a saint!!!), accompanied by cascading waterfalls, an infinity pool, resort to town transpo, AIR CONDITIONING, cable and more amenities than the gosh darned Westin!

This place totally had me at, "Hakuna", but once we saw the view, sweet baby Jesus if I wasn't singing, "HaVVVVVe you seen the LOVVVVVVE tonight?!!!"

Yazzzzzzzzzz!!!!!

To further it all, each well appointed suite (ours was upon the 6th floor) duly includes WiFi, cable programming (most of which in Spanish), marble flooring, rainfall showerheads, a separate kitchen, wardrobe and vanity, floor to ceiling windows and sliders, private terraces and UNOBSTRUCTED vistas!

PERFECT for that naked morning stretch!, I mean, uhm........ cup of coffee!

"Ahhhhh sequiiiin yaaaaaaaah!!!!"

Having flown in during "off season" (mid-June throughout mid-October), we booked a STELLAR rate for our 4 night stay.

While it thundered and poured nightly (scaring the buh-Jesus out of me!) for 2 out of the 4 evenings we spent here (driving us to rethink that nightly voyage out) the plus side is UNDENIABLY our having had the ENTIRE RESORT TO OURSELVES!!!

{Scar: I was on first until that little hair ball was born.

Mufasa: That hair ball is my son and YOUR future king.}

I LITERALLY saw 6 people TOTAL in addition to ourselves, and 3 of them worked for the resort!!!

What provides this place its final star however, is irrefutably its proximity to the city, shopping, the beach and more respectfully the just as upscale Grand Miramar Resort; home of the Miramar Sky Bar and Gin Lounge located just feet away, next door!

There ain't nothin' like a "TROPICAL TURN-UP" (I speak from experience) and that's solidified when DUI's are rendered null and void a factor.

Can the church say, "Amen?"

In summary, ......if landing in PV whilst in search of a place to better make your "Pride Land"; should Uber take you to, ... oh, I dunno,...some place a bit too overpriced, touristy or "American"...

Heed my advice and "put your behind in the past"! "Run Simba. Run far, FARR AWAY!!!"

~Hakuna Mondavi~

Stayed at the Mondavi for the second time and per usual, it was awesome! It’s literally the view and service for me. Sergio is the best and ensures the guest feel welcomed.

Wonderful room, super comfortable bed and the views of the ocean are amazing. The staff was super helpful and all around great.

Beautiful location! Very peaceful and serene! The front desk manager (Sergio) is extremely knowledgeable and helpful! Be sure to talk to him!

Beautiful hotel in a great quiet location, best sunset I've ever seen, gorgeous rooms.

The place is very good and the prices are very low by the way.

The restaurant, wich his name is The View, is amazing in all aspects.
