I came here for a UTI while in Mazunte. Dr. Gutierrez was very thorough and completed more extensive testing as I told him I had had several previous UTIs. He did a test that my doc in the U.S. refused to run which showed a positive infection and led to my partner also getting tested (again that my doc in the U.S. said wasn't necessary). Dr. Gutierrez speaks great English, sent us both an invoice that we submitted to our insurance company and results were fast. I'm so grateful for his extensive knowledge and thorough care!

If I could give 10 stars I would. Came here at 2am after a medical emergency (stairs + concrete = disaster) and Dr. Gutierrez was amazing. Not only did he do a perfect job of stitching up a messy and complicated wound the after care we got for the next three days was perfect too. We left Mazunte very grateful that he was the doctor there!

I fell ill with a serious gastrointestinal issue during my visit to San Agustillio, and Dr. Josué Gutiérrez Contreras and Nurse Esma provided outstanding care. From the moment I stepped into Dr. Gutiérrez Contreras' office, I knew I was in capable hands. Dr. Gutiérrez Contreras ran appropriate tests, administered medication, and took the time out of his very busy day to explain the treatment plan. Nurse Esma was kind, empathetic, and attentive throughout my visit. I highly recommend them for their professionalism, expertise, and compassionate care. I had gastric infection and felt horribly sick overnight, we contacted this facility and the doctor immediately took care of me. He gave me an IV, sent cultures to the lab, sent me off with proper treatment. While we were there we saw him treating several different patients who came in with a variety of issues. He’s so professional, compassionate, and a major plus, he takes credit card! It’s rare in Mazunte. Gracias doctor por el excelente cuidado me me dio.

Got my PCR test done here and I was impressed by Josue's care and thoroughness with the testing. We got the results as expected, however the Canadian requirements changed for the documentation (literally 12 hours before boarding). Westjet wouldn't let us board the plane unless they were fixed and Josue on a late Sunday afternoon (his day off!) quickly remedied the paperwork. Thank you! He's the person to go to with any medical issues.

I got my PCR test done with Dr. Josue Gutiérrez Contreras, he was very nice and amicable, spoke English too. When Westjet/Canadian border documentation changed suddenly he was amazing at getting the correct paperwork to us via WhatsApp asap on his day off! Would recommend!

The doc is very kind and knowledge, very caring and interested in your well being. Fixed blocked ear situation for me within a couple of min. Service charge could be paid with credit card and was fairly priced.

Treated a friend of mine. Good service, excellent empathy and took his time for the diagnosis. Found out the problem. A doctor from my country would have send my friend home without the right diagnosis.

We were afraid that in this small town we couldn't find a good doctor. This concern turned out to be unnecessary when we came here. Doctor Josue was communicative (also english speaking), friendly and very accurate in his diagnosis. Prescription was given right away and the farmacy is very nearby. This is a very good GP indeed!

My friend and I had stomach upset from something that we ate. The doctor was professional, kind, patient, informative and even a little humorous. And spoke English. After a consultation and tummy checkup, the doctor prescribed something that helped us feel much better. We are so glad we stopped in!
