Cheonggyecheon

Beautiful area. The streets are made into amazing walkway with a stream running in between, all lit up and beautiful. High end shops and restaurants on either sides, and billboard all fancy.

This place is amazing. They have done all efforts to keep nature as part of everyday life. A beautiful stream with clean water is flowing through hustle and bustle of city life. I think beauty of this place in night will be at next level. I visited on 27 April 2024. I will visit this place next time in night.

A global gold standard in city centre walkway landscape architecture. This 11km footpath on either side of the Cheonggyecheon stream transports you into a serene atmosphere in the heart of a busy metropolis. Nature, an outdoor library and tranquil surrounds. Highly recommend spending some time here.

One of my favorite places in seoul. Great to just hang out, go for a walk, or just chill. It's also great to go for a run here. Its recommended to find yourself a spot along the stream and settle for a can of beer on a summer night.

A very good place to visit the parks and water flow designs in the city. The area is very clean and has enough space for people and travelers to walk around and rest. Bicycles can be rented for cycling and exercise. It is an even more refreshing experience in autumn.

Fantastic walk alongside the river. At night, lights turns on and it becomes even more chill and pleasant to enjoy. A must-see !

Beautiful walk along the canal by the open air library l, plenty of people were cooling off by the river, good atmosphere and relaxing music.

This is a beautiful stream running through downtown Seoul. There was a festival on in Seoul while we were there. The theme appeared to be around books and reading. Cushions placed every metre along the stream (2 together) with a basket with books and a lantern in between. Relaxing music was played by a DJ and the mood was setting for a very relaxing afternoon. Love it!

Worth the detour to see. So lovely and peaceful in the middle of a city.

Beautiful long canal. It was really beautiful during the lotus lantern festival period.

One of my favorite places in Seoul. Walking along this stream is a great way to see the city without having to deal with the hustle and bustle of the city.

A phenomenal stream walkway in Seoul

Cheonggyecheon (청계천) is a 10.9 km-long stream and public space in downtown Seoul. A natural stream sourced from the Suseongdong Valley in Inwangsan, in 2003, the city government began an urban renewal project to disassemble the previously-stationed expressway and restore the stream, which was completed in 2005 at a cost of over 386 billion won (approximately US$281 million)

Now, Cheonggyecheon had become a popular tourist attraction, which is a nice place to take a walk with your partner/family

Beautiful place for a walk, especially in the evening, when everything is lit up. Enjoy a lovely stroll!

This place is very worth to visit during the day or night. The stream is super clear, love it.
You can sit by the stream while enjoying a cup of blue bottle coffee, hehe.
Tips: come early in the morning while anywhere else is still closed. After that you can walk to gwanghamun square and gyeongbokgung palace.
If you need to go to restroom, you can go to kto office near the stream.
