Easily accessible palace with well preserved archictecture. Smaller in scale than the other palaces but charming in its own way. Has an art gallery in its premises whose Roman style architecture makes for an interesting juxtaposition

Very nice place in Seoul. After two years good to see the new made palace. It's one place of silence in such a city full of skyscrapers and traffic.

19 Dec 2023: Rich in history and the Stone-wall leading to the entrance is truly remarkable. You can catch the changing of Guards held daily @11am, 2 & 4pm (except for Monday) at the main entrance. Nice walk around the big Palace ground...ticket is required to enter Deoksugung Palace but if you are 65 or more; show your passport for the free entrance ticket.

Another great palace to visit. Well maintained & huge to soak into. Embrace the culture & strolling around the palace. Check out the architecture & the beauty of Joseon era.

Wish the weather much better for us, so we can enjoy a little bit more but unfortunately was raining & windy. Way to cold for me. But i do enjoy the palace.

Beautiful area, full of history. We arrived around 10 o'clock in the morning and it was very quiet. We had plenty of time to walk through the gardens, take some pictures and visited most of the area. Next to the entry is a Information center and from there we had a stamp with the Palace in our book. Later, it become crowded and as it was a very nice day a lot of people were enjoying a coffee or a snack in the park. As it is autumn, some of the trees have marvelous red colors in contrast with the green pines. Highly recommended for a 2-3 hours visit (at least).

Such an amazing palace, I love the architecture of both western and Korean buildings. There was a line up to take a photo in the first picture though, was quite hot but at least there is shade. There was live Korean music playing throughout the palace and traditional dancing!

Nice Korean palace located near the City Hall. It is one of the five Grand Palaces built by the kings of the Joseon dinasty and designated as a historical building. It has a modern and a western style garden and fountain. Beside the palace, it also has a popular stonewall walkway. The admission ticket is about 1.000 Korean Won

I entered with the Royal Palace Pass, which costs 10,000 KRW, and gives you access to the main palaces in Seoul. Using the pass, you can enter Changdeokgung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, Jongmyo Shrine, Deoksugung Palace, and Gyeongbokgung Palace. It also gives you access to the Secret Garden Tour, so if you are going to visit all these places during your stay it is worth buying the pass, besides saving money you avoid queues at the entrance. Deoksungung Palace is definitely the smallest one, but it's a nice place to visit. My accommodation was near City Hall, so it was easy going there any time. It shouldn't be your top priority of all the palaces, but it's worth the visit if you have time. At sunset is very beautiful.

Nice historical place to visit to get an glimpse on how the royals used to live. The guard changing ceremony was a bonus and happens at 2pm

I didn't plan to visit this place, and it happened the bus stop at here after my half day trip to DMZ. It is a hidden gem that lies in the centre of Seoul the way it is positioned surrounded by the modern architecture of Seoul, hotels, restaurants, the City Hall, and other important buildings...

Beautiful and usually much less crowded than Gyeongbokgung. Recommend going in fall--there's a cafe on the palace grounds overlooking a pond and it's perfection.

Deoksugung Palace is a hidden gem in the heart of Seoul. The palace's blend of traditional and modern architecture creates a captivating atmosphere. The tranquil gardens and historic buildings make it a perfect escape from the bustling city.
Highly recommended for history and culture enthusiasts!

Great place for travelers. For a small fee of 1,000 won you can enter the grounds of Deoksugung. Tickets can be obtained easily at the POS Kiosk outside. Especially beautiful in winter!

Junghwajeon in Deoksugung Palace, the throne hall, and the courtyard in front ofit are symbolic spaces
where state ceremonies were held. A broad two-tiered stone terracel paved with
wide, fat stones forms the base of the throne hall. Stone markers indicate where
the oficials stood according to rank during royal assemblies. These rank stones
and the three-lane path running through the courtyard are faichful to the norms
of traditional palace architecture. The center lane of the path was reserved for the
ling.
Junghwajeon was built in 1902 south ofjJeulyjodang; which had been used as a temporary
throne hall, and formed the center of the palace. Originally it was a two-story
structure but it was badly damaged by fire in 1904. In 1906 it was reconstructed
in its current one-story form. The cloisters surrounding the courtyard, which served
as shelter for palace workers or storage space, were also rebuilt. Today only the
southeast corner of the cloisters remains.

Beautiful cultural experience. Well maintained and a good spot to bring the family and enjoy the unique architecture of South Korea. Accept card, and free for seniors.

We observed the daily change of guards. It is very traditional act that happens outside the palace every day, two times, at 10am and 2pm. There are announcements in Korean and English explaining the ceremony while it happens.

It's very educational experience to visit the ancestry of Korea. I enjoyed the museum of art and the different buildings in the palace. From reviewing the past experiences, I can better grasp what the future challenges we should get ready for.
