Great local market to visit. They have tour guides available for translation, and locals love this place. Prices are okay. There are festivals happening, giving out free beers.

I just love the mangwon market. There are vegetables, fruit, groceries, fresh meat and fish, restaurants, bread, nuts and oils, finger food, clothes, underwear, home items such as pans, spoons, towels, lamps. All daily necessities can be found there

A very nice market place, with lots of nice food to buy and eat on the go. It is crowded at evening time .

There are shops that sells fresh produce and fresh seafood, and also nuts, beans, snacks, clothing etc. we came during the winter, and the shops sell hats, beanies, gloves, too.

There are shops that sell flavored fried chicken, fishcake soup, kimbap, fried vegetables, egg buns, bread pastry similar to doughnut but not rounded shape, red bean cake, glutinous rice pastry, side dishes food such as anchovies, kimchi etc , and also hot noodles soup.

It's packed with good food spots! ugly bakery is one of the places I was told to visit. It's not as big as gwangjang market but I feel like the food vendors itself in comparison are similar in numbers.
It's mostly for takeouts so if you are expecting a sit down meal, not many place offers. It's mostly quick grab and go spots. Some spots I recommend are the donut/croquette place, many flavours to choose from (faves were pizza, Sweet potato curry, spicy veggie), fried stuffed peppers, the squid ink ones are my favorite, bite size chicken places. I went to check out 2 spots but the one that was supposedly more "famous" weren't good at all so avoid that one I'd say. Soodaeguk spot definitely hit the spot.
Overall a very satisfied experience, will recommend and also come back again to try other vendors!

Local market. This is authentic local Korean market. People are so nice.
I don't know the name of the shop but the tteokbokki store opposite the glutinous rice donuts is so awesome‼ 🔥. The owner is super nice ☺ and his tteokbokki is the best i ever had. Highly truly recommend!💯❤

We can find anything in Mangwon Market. So in love with this market. The groceries shop in front sell a lot of things with affordable price (Kanu Coffee, Spam luncheon meat, any kind of meals) and the shopkeeper very nice.
A lot of delicious food here. Hotteok, tteokbokki, korean donuts, and fried chicken with very various sauce. I even come twice here during my visit to Korea.

Just passed by Mangwon Market to get fishcakes and Korean hamburger steak and they did not disappoint. The food was inexpensive and there are many options. You can definitely eat all your meals for the day in this market.

Dropped into this market to have some food. I like the size of it and there's still a great variety of food to eat. I also like the little grocery stores interspersed throughout.

I wished they had more public seating.

Kind of reminded me like Namdaemun market but in one line. And less clothes and more produce. More homely. The noodles esp the jjangjemong were divine!

Love the hotteok! It's in the basement. Also tried the marshmallow ice cream, burnt with a hot touch before serving. The chewy doughnuts is a must try too.
Love the variety of stalls here!

Do come from about 11pm onwards. We came much earlier but most shops were closed or in the midst of preparing to open. Market is quite small, not a huge variety of stalls. We tried rice cakes, abalone porridge, red bean porridge, croquettes, torched marhsmallow icecream. Will revisit again to try the other stalls.

Mangwon traditional market is a nice place to walk around. It's a bit different to some bigger markets I've come across because it's a straight line only. In the middle of it, there's a famous booth that sells big meatballs. It gets quite crowded and there's always a line waiting. They take orders when you arrive, then walk around and come back later to pick up your food. At the entrance of the market, there's also a shop that sells ice cream inside marshmallow which they fire up right in front of you - also quite busy. Outside of the market, you'll find lots of restaurants and cafés too, so the area is great to go visit. A bit further, you'll find residential areas, which as a tourist, is also quite interesting to walk around.

It’s a relatively small market if compared to Gwangjang Market, so it’s easier to walk and look around with less crowds too. Fruits and vegetables shops around the market are gems to get cheap local seasonal fruits!!

My favorite market in Seoul, Mangwon wasn’t catering to tourists. You can shop and eat like a Korean here, but the shopkeepers are familiar enough with foreigners who don’t speak Korean that it’s easy to interact with them.

It's a locals market but seems to have gotten quite popular. Its really crowded from 12 onwards. There are some popular stalls where you'll find queues. Like the torched marshmallows and pancake stall. It's not the biggest market compared to something like gwangjang but you can do grocery shopping and get your daily necessities here.

My favorite traditional Korean market in Seoul! They sell crazy cheap produce (especially fruit!), and it's fun to walk through to see all the street food. The katsu, gimbap, tempura and egg bread shops are my favorite.

Mangwon Market is smaller and less busy than the other markets but this makes is much more pleasant. I'd recommend visitors to Seoul come here if you're looking for a more authentic experience. The local area is also very nice to take a stroll and do some light shopping if you want to take a break from the buzz and tall buildings in the city centre.
