Gangneung Jungang Market

a large variety of food selections, some seeing longer snaking queues than others! we tried from 3 different stalls and the food were not bad. but 5 stars for the vibes and the overall market streets! the culture and environment there was nice to walk around and bask in, very fresh experience for someone touring gangneung area :)

a combo of wet market, food/product shops and restos! some small table stands for you to enjoy the food right away. tonnes of choices, the upstairs are quieter but still got some restos. you can explore every alley!

When you go here, just get in a line and get whatever people are eating. Make sure to go into the alley restaurants. Eat at the standing barrels in the middle. Try any samples handed out by the ladies. Totally worth visiting. It is also nice to stay near here.

Great. Typical traditional market. A bit smaller than some, but still lots of local food, fruit, fish, and veg. Also close to more modern shopping areas with top brands

The must-go place if you visit Gangneung. It offers the most variety of food has to offer in Gangneung. The cheap kalguksu and ice cream hotteok is a must. It’s very delicious.

Food wise.. The baenni chicken and prawns, the Kalguksu within the market are 'must eats'... Go crazy in there. :)

This little shopping place was just excellent, we went there on a tour booked by kook and had the greatest time! All products were local ones, so was the population and they were friendly and kind! Prices were also very reasonable and the food was delicious. The marketplace was clean and organised, but it was quite another world if you car out of those touristic alleys to go a bit further, which I do not really recommend for a first time in Korea and if you speak no Korea, but in the marketplace with the tour guide it was wonderful and i enjoyed it very much!

Crazy queue again here. Want to buy and try many local food here but the line is always long!

People crowded in, because price is very cheap and a lot of tasty foods.... especially the Sungnam Jang-Calguksu....
