I had a fun time at the incense experience room. It was unique to learn a bit about incense making process before I can appreciate the variety of incense selections at the main store. Bought gifts for friends.

There are sellers who can speak English. I liked the free interactive museum about fragrances and their creation.

Really kind and helpful, despite our abysmal Japanese. The shopkeeper spoke English very well, and we are very happy with our agarwood and sandalwood incense!

This is a beautiful old shop selling traditional Japanese incense. You can try out a bunch of the different scents and find your favorite. There is a huge selection of traditional blends but at the same time, they also have created a bunch of new smells to cater to the younger generation. If I recall correctly, there is also some Disney? selection that you can try. The one thing I didn’t like was that I found a particular scent and really wanted it but it’s part of a 4 scent bundle where you have to get 3 other scents you may or may not like. They also offer tax refund with 0 fees for foreigners.

A lot selections and too bad I don’t speak enough Japanese though the staff really tried best to assist me in choosing.

Be sure to ask them the ones that are not in display. I got the one I enjoyed a lot in the past but didn’t see and asked. It turns out that they are very well stocked.

A nice variety, very helpful staff. Having been to several incense shops, this is one of the few I've seen that has traditional natural incense. But they also have the died/perfumed fragrances I'd that's your bag too!

A visit to Shoyeido’s flagship Kyoto Factory shop is a memorable experience. You will very likely learn something new about the fascinating world of incense, and you will most certainly walk out with lowered blood pressure. The variety of types and qualities of incense is mind-blowing, the staff are attentive and knowledgeable, the displays are beautiful, and the pace and calm of the store are just right.

Go to this place for all your incense buying needs. Shoyeido is a perfect balance of clever modern design and traditional craftmanship with spirit. For oneself, or as a gift, their products are great.

首先要强调一点，这家商店是9点钟开门，他的博物馆是10点钟开门，我是9点钟走进他的商店，基本上挑选一圈完毕以后，刚好他的博物馆开门。总觉得他的顺序稍微有点反，但博物馆里面可以看的内容也不是很多，他的香型还是蛮多的，为了避免家的味道有点像寺庙的味道，我尽可能选择了花香。正好赶上新年和情人节的预热，买了一些小商品送给家人和朋友，非常值得推荐！

2023/11/18 下午約四點半到訪，這次二訪本店，本店還是東西最齊全也最大間，大阪和東京的分店東西沒有這麼多，然後也不是每間分店都可以免稅，大版本町和東京銀座的分店可以免稅，這間老店我已經買了好幾年了，家人還是最喜歡這間的香味，這次也是買了香包、線香和環香，不管自用或送禮都很好用。

本店には何回も利用させて頂いている。電動こづつからお線香、最近はお香に嵌り白川、堀川、まゆ玉、特別セット等で香りを楽しんでいます。アプリ会員登録すれば購入ポイントがつきポイント交換も有ります。本店スタッフさんは説明も丁寧で色々楽しみ方を教えて貰えて良いお香屋さんです。1枚目画像は令和5年に購入した干支卯南天。
