As a plus sized woman, I haven't found any yukata that fit until this wonderful store. They had cotton yukata up to (and beyond?) North American size 22. Unfortunately the silk ones didn't fit as large, but even at my size the selection was plentiful. Wonderful, non-judgmental service. Highly recommended.

The store owner is a very nice, helpful and kind lady. She helped me and my wife pick out two beautiful kimonos and she also made sure that we got the tax breaks. I am very impressed with the collection and the quality of the kimonos at musubi kimonos.

During my visit to Kyoto I visited both stores and found the staff to be very friendly,welcoming and extremely helpful. My daughter has large feet and was having trouble finding shoes to wear with her kimono and the staff helped her to find the right fit. I brought my kimono to the store and she helped me to find an obi that is a perfect match in colour and style. The quality is clear to see when you step inside the store and the prices are good too. I definitely recommend this store.

I had an amazing experience shopping for kimonos at masubi kyoto. The staff was very kind, patient and helpful in finding the right dresses for me. You get kimonos and all other traditional Japanese clothing in all sizes and materials for men, women and also kids! I bought a few pieces and I will probably be back to this store if I ever visit Japan again in the future!

Had a wonderful experience here where I bought jinbei & samue.
First, the shop keeper Tanya (apologies if mispelled) was extremely helpful and very skilled in both japanese and English. She helped provide recommendations and explanations of the products and the cultural purposes behind them.
Second, they offered a variety of clothing for anyone to find something they liked, and also made in Japan or made in China.
Lastly, they offer many different sizes that should fit foreigners. The jinbei and samue I bought are extremely comfortable made in japan. I will definitely be back!!

As a size UK 18 I was struggling to find a kimono that fit. In previous shops the staff had also not been the most helpful or welcoming in finding me a size. The staff here were lovely and friendly and took the time to find me a kimono that fit in a pattern I liked. They also had XL men’s sizes - so very size inclusive for us westerners or anyone plus size. Great selection of silk or cotton. Thank you for all your help and making me feel at ease!

I had the best experience at Musubi yesterday! They offer cotton, polyester, and silk yukatas in both mid-length and floor length styles. Ashley, our attendant, was lovely and incredibly helpful in selecting styles and let me try on various prints and lengths of garments. I was able to select gifts for my mother in law, best friend, and myself with ease. Highly recommend!!

You can find made in Japan and made in China jinbei, yukata, kimono and other japanese style clothes.
I was looking for jinbeis and pijamas and found exactly what I was looking for. Made in Japan (actually, in Kyoto itself) items are double the price vs made in China, but I personally wouldn't settle for anything else.
I found the same brand of made in Japan pijamas at Takashimaya but they were 4000 JPY more expensive than at musubi.
While it looks like a touristy store, it isn't.
The lady speaks great English.
I got 1 long sleeve pijama, 1 jinbei for me and one for my 3 y.o.

This kimono store sells new items in packaging. I think this would be a good place to learn as their english tutorial on the wall is very clear. Definitly more geared towards serving foreigners as the shop used S M L system. You can also find tabi and geta in several designs. The store clerk worn kimono herself and spoke English very well. They do tax free here. Just bring pasupoto.

I was so happy to find this store as I was looking for Japanese traditional clothes for my entire family (children-grandparents) and even more surprised that I managed to find Uni-colored/plain ones as well.

A Yukata/Jinbei/Kimono/Samue shop, with English description of the different types, wearing styles, etc.
Large (and extra large) size are also available.
Very friendly, fluent English speaking staff!

Very good service and relaxing atmosphere.
The staff was super kind and cheerful, giving advice as to what kind of yukata to get.

Amazing service and reasonable priced kimonos and yukatas. Will definitely return. It was a busy day and she was able to singlehandedly assist two other customers. She spoke English and was very helpful.

For traditional Japanese men’s clothing and kimonos in quality (yet reasonably priced) fabric, this is 100% the place you have been looking for. There’s a couple shops nearby, one is slightly larger.

A lot of selection to choose Japanese traditional wear. Price also affordable.
