Touan Main Gallery and Studios

Such a lovely and fantastic place for beautifully handmade pottery in Kyoto! Apparently it's one of the biggest in town and it's about 100 years old!
I went there looking for Hanakessho (flower crystal) and was impressed by the many collections and styles they have.
Aki-san was super kind and gave me the chance to "tour around" the workshop and oh wow!!!... what an amazing experience to see the professionals working on their craft. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip! 🤩

If you're around the Tofujuki Temple, be sure to stop by!!!

Very nice experience! You can visit their working place and do ceramic yourself. They gave very clear explannations.

清水焼きの郷まつりに出品されていた際に、花結晶のお皿をリーズナブルに購入することができました。きれいな作品がたくさんありました。

色絵付で花が描かれた器がどれも素晴らしく目移りして困りもの😍一点物ですからお値段もそれなりですがいい買い物が出来ました🥰

以前にテレビ番組(京都知新)で拝見したことがあった“花結晶”を実際に手にすることが出来、釉薬のおりなす造形を楽しみたいと思います

素晴らしい作品に心打たれました。何十年も作品の良さは受け継がれ変わらぬ美しさです。

清水焼の茶碗が欲しく、てネットで検索していたら、此方の窯元を見つけ迷いながら行きましたが、釉薬の織りなす花結晶は本当に綺麗で、その魅力に引き込まれてしまいました。

工房です。なので、商品を買うだけであれば清水のお店の方が便利かつ品揃えも良くおすすめとのこと。
