this onsen gets special rating because it’s an extra hot onsen. Like so hot, I felt like I was radiating heat after. Tried other onsens , but somehow this humble one warranted a second visit. It does get crowded; so might be a bit of a wait and squeeze. But I can’t explain it, there was just something special in the water that made it extra enjoyable. Get a manjyu on your way out, so delicious.

This was my first onsen experience and it did not disappoint. You can purchase entry ticket and towel hire from digital kiosks or at reception for a very reasonable price. There are some signs in English to guide you through the process and the staff are very friendly and helpful even if you can’t speak Japanese. There are complimentary lockers and hairdryers, and body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the wash area. The onsen water is very hot and I found the outside bath the most refreshing.

Very traditional and perfect relaxation place. No tourists in sight the afternoon I went. I would happily go back.

I was flying blind just you tube and Google tips but I survived, and the view is as in the photos you are looking straight at the mountain range. I had the place to myself most of the time and the other 2 gentlemen that were there briefly spoke English and had been to New Zealand. As soon as I got out and was getting dressed I wanted to get back in haha

After many hours of commuting to Hakuba for the ski season, we were exhausted and ready to relax. This onsen was what we needed! Foreigner-friendly staff who also permitted tattoos (tattoo-friendly!), it was quite busy when we came, but the wait was less then 3 mins. Entry and rental towel set was around ~¥1100. The facilities included free lockers, hampers to put your clothes in, a weight scale, hairdryers, and vending machines. The showers come with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There is an indoor and outdoor (open-air) hotspring. Both very hot but relaxing, as you could feel the minerals on the skin and the contrast of the crisp winter air entering your lungs. Whilst surrounded by the Hakuba mountains. Would recommend.

Probably the best onsen in the area. We tried two others and this one was the one we came back to. Spacious and clean with actual onsen water you can feel and smell the difference. Bring a towel and would recommend coming off peak hours. Great for some apres ski maintenance.

Great bath with an amazing view. I went around 1pm on a weekday so it was quite empty. No sauna or cold bath.

The poster did mention that they will change the price to 700JPY from Dec 1 2022 due to the rise in oil prices.

A cosy onsen with a fantastic view of the snow capped mountains of Hakuba Valley. A great place to stop by after your exhilarating day on the slopes - to relax your sore muscles and recharge before you head to the Hakuba Station. Only a short 10min walk to the JR station.

My first Onsen experience and it did not disappoint! Very relaxing, and the bath and changing area were both very clean. The perfect place to chill after a morning hike with the most amazing view. I was worried about having tattoos but showed the man on the door and he said it’s ok. Thank you for a great first Onsen experience.

I am covered from my neck down to my stomach of tattoos. I showed the guy at the front and he was shocked but still let me in. Was very nice and so was everyone else that was in the Onsen. Was also half price on Wednesdays! Only paid 300 yen!
