I highly recommend after a ski day !
They are closing at 9pm, I was there at 6pm, the place was full, but I came back around 8pm and the place was empty !

There is one bath inside and one bath outside.
This place is really peaceful and relaxing.

I’ve been here twice. Once during the Ski season in January and the off season in April. I like coming here because 1) It is very clean 2) There’s an outside and indoor bath 3) the showers have shampoo, conditioner, and body soap and the staff are 4) friendly & helpful.
There’s a kiosk to check in & pay (English available). A locker to the left to place your shoes, then give your ticket to the front desk (get /pay for a towel if needed). More lockers within the bathing area and hair dryers are there too. Nice, clean, and great onsen.

The place to go after an exiting day of skiing. Soak in your muscles and forget all pain :)
The hot water will bring back the energy which you need for a good & heavy dinner.
The place is well maintained and very clean. Try to avoid peak hours after the lifts are closed. It can be very busy between 4 and 6 pm. We came around 6 pm and the bath was nearly empty.

Excellent public onsen.
Gorgeous mountain views from the outdoor onsen pool.
There is also an indoor pool available

The cost is 850 Yen.
If you don't have a towel you can rent one or buy one for 250 Yen.

There were only 5-10 people on Saturday 3pm. Not busy at all.

Absolutely recommend 👌

Very clean. Can get very busy. They hold a line outside when it gets busy. One inside pool, slightly cooler than the one outside pool. Tattoos are not a problem. Beer and ice cream for sale in the room off to the side.

Great spot after a day on the slopes.

Traditional onsen, so clothes are forbidden. Tattoo and gaijin friendly.

Modern clean facility with hot stone outdoor onsen, and a warm indoor onsen.

Nice and close to Happo One and bus shuttle. Great temperature after a long day of skiing. Couldn’t ask for much more. They even have a spot for your luggage.

Great local onsen experience with a good view of the mountains! They don't have chair massagers but they do have foot ones!

Nice experience. It's a shame that the locals dislike gaijin so much, it's a bit irritating how they treat you.

Anyway, Great onsen. Love a onsen with a outside bath.

Great experience especially after a long ski day. Water temp is usually above 45c with an outdoor area to soak in.

This is a large, beautiful onsen. The bathing area is very well designed and there is an outdoor bath as well. They open until fairly late at night and are very popular with the local community and skiers after a long day on the slopes. The rest area is well furnished and very comfortable. If you are getting too warm, you can wander over to the fence to get a view of the mountains just right outside. The water is very clear and soft, and the baths were not too hot when we visited.

Separate male and female onsen, with indoor and outdoor onsens. I didn't see anyone write this but this is a traditional onsen where you are naked (can use a towel walking towards onsen if feeling modest) but it is definitely not one where you can wear swimmers.

The process is, go in, take off shoes. Go to the machine put in 850 yen, get a ticket, give ticket to the man. Proceed to male or female section, undress at the locker, store your stuff, take your key and put it around wrist. Go have a shower. Go into onsen. Enjoy the beautiful mountain views.

Clean and relaxing onsen. It is a go to place if you like onsen with a view on mountain during winter. Very accessible as it is next to Hakuba bus station terminal.
Recommended to go there during early morning if you do not like the crowd. The main area have lockers and you can drop your luggage at the entrance. You can either buy or rent a towel set. There are no lotion or after shower amenities. The onsen area has 2 baths. Easy 1 hour spent there.

Bring your lift ticket for a discount to a nice, clean, modern onsen. Can get very crowded during long weekends or any ski season weekend. Sizable indoor and outdoor tubs, good temperature. No sauna. Great drinking water. Clear, scentless, alkaline water. Certified hydrogen content in outdoor tub.

Amazing. But go in the afternoon when it is quiet and you don't have to listen to some wanky Kiwi's tell each other their life stories. Worst thing about Japan, other white people. Oh, also they allow tattoos.

Gorgeous indoor/outdoor onsen just near the Happo One Bus Terminal. You can take any local bus to the terminal and it’s a a 2 minute walk to the onsen. Buy a ticket at the vending machine (rental towels available) and head in to relax. Free body soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryers. I came at around 2:00 pm on a weekday and there was only 1 other woman using the bath at that time so I had the outdoor bath all to myself for awhile. Very relaxing!

There is a coupon on the Happo no Yu onsen website for ¥100 off your admission fee. The onsen has amazing facilities. Very clean and quiet. There a tatami resting area as well as many chairs. The female changing room is clean and roomy. There are locks for your shoes and bags while you bathe. The onsen itself is beautiful. Hot water flows to an inside and outside bath, with views of the mountain in front of you. The water is clear and hydrogen rich. Beautiful experience. Would come here again. Please look at their website as they give an overall introduction to the onsen as well as an overview of the water quality. Will be visiting again and again and again.
