Cafe Rhino

it is in the parking lot just in front of the family mart. I got the rice and curry, which was very tasty. This cafe had at the time only 4 options in the menu but absolutely recommend. The owner speaks English and he is easy to talk to and a very nice person. The place is very clean and well organized.

Stopped by this cafe after my visit to Nijo Castle and it was great! The food was really delicious (I had the beef curry). I also had a lovely conversation with the owner who is incredibly kind and speaks fluent English. The only thing is it's tucked away behind a parking lot so it's a little harder to find. Go straight from the Nijo Castle intersection instead of turning right based on google directions and you'll have an easier time finding it. This is the kind of business you want to support! Highly recommend! Thanks again for the wonderful experience! :)

After exploring the historic Nijō Castle, I stopped by this cozy café for a hot sandwich and coffee, and it was a delightful experience. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The music playing in the background added a nice touch, enhancing the overall ambience. As for the food, the sandwich was delicious, well-prepared, and satisfying, while the coffee was just right - rich in flavor and a perfect pick-me-up. A great spot that added to the day's enjoyment.

I came here twice and always was amazing experience. Owner was very polite and I had nice conversations.

A small miracle happened while eating here. After such a hectic day of touring, finishing off with a visit to the Nijo-jo Castle, we found this place. After ordering and waiting, just as I was relaxing, one of my favourite City Pop songs start to play and it instantly makes me forget about my troublesome day. Not only that, but after telling him about it, he shows me his collection of Tatsuro Yamashita CD's and plays me the newest one.

If not for the delicious food, please come to visit this wonderful man. He speaks great English, and is incredibly kind and funny. I wish him nothing but the best to him and I thank him for the food!

We went here after the light show at Nijo Castle around 8pm and even though they were closing soon the owner happily made us delicious pasta and chatted with us. Highly recommend for a local place with a kind owner.

After looking around for any other reasonably-priced cafe/restaurant in the area that was open for lunch on a weekday we stumbled upon Cafe Rhino.

Cafe Rhino is a cozy little one-table cafe located down a side road opposite a Family Mart. The menu is small, but all food is prepared in front of your eyes by the owner. The owner is incredibly kind, friendly and bubbly when you get talking to him and even accommodated us when our baby had a tantrum during our lunch.

If I’m looking for a relaxing break from busy sightseeing and a delicious meal in the future, I’ll definitely drop into Cafe Rhino again!

Quaint and English accessible

初訪問で「牛スジカレー（時期ものの筍トッピング）」「杏仁豆腐」「ホットサンド」「（キリマンジャロ）コーヒー」を堪能しました。
「牛スジカレー（時期ものの筍トッピング）」
⇒味の志向をスパイシー方向に振っておらず野菜の旨味が出た美味しいカレー。特別にトッピングした筍の水煮は良いアクセントと歯ごたえで美味でした。
「杏仁豆腐」
⇒甘すぎず素材の味を活かしていて美味でした。
「ホットサンド」
⇒ローストポークや玉子焼きなど具材が豊富で美味でした。
「（キリマンジャロ）コーヒー」
⇒ちゃんとしたコーヒー（珈琲と書いた方が良いかもしれない）ってこれだよねと思いました。やはり普段飲んでいるチェーン店のコーヒーはちょっと違うなあと再認識しました。

店主さんのワンオペなので、来客が集中すると、飲食の提供に少し時間を要しますが、お店の外観や内観のノスタルジックな感じと相まって、それもまた良いです。
店主さんは英語でのコミュニケーションに問題がないので、外国人の来店も問題ないです。

関西に来た際は再訪したいです。

なんか懐かしい感じのお店でした。子供のころ親に連れられて行った喫茶店のあの感じ（昭和な感じ）でした。雰囲気も味も良い感じです。スロ～な感じを満喫しました。頂いたナポリタンの味も美味かったです！　静岡茶がお勧めでしたが、コーヒー（うまかった）飲んだので、次はオススメのお茶を頂きます。

Un accueil irréprochable, des bons plats préparés avec soin et une volonté réussie de transmettre la culture culinaire locale font de ce lieu un incontournable. N’hésitez pas à chercher cet endroit (bien caché au fond d’une impasse), d’autant plus que le propriétaire parle couramment anglais!

今天點的是中辛的咖哩飯，帶點微辣。剛入口微微的果物酸味非常提振食慾，中段的輕輕刺激味蕾的辣與尾段的甜形成完美的閉環。

小店氛圍輕鬆，單品咖啡會輪替，很適合點一份輕食一杯咖啡好好享受靜謐的時光

ランチ時にふらっと寄らせていただきました。
ナポリタンがとても美味しかったです。お店の雰囲気も落ち着いていて、休憩できました。

ホットサンドをいただきました。
ピザ風の具材と、ふわふわのたまご焼きが相性バッチリで美味しかったです！
お店の方も優しくて、音楽のかかる雰囲気も良かったのでまた伺いたいです🎶
(Googleの表示と違って迷いましたが、チャペル横の道を入ると行けました)
