It is a great hotel in front of the main railway station in Kyoto. A great view of the nearby station and road in front. We had a very luxurious stay with all amenities. Most of the travels in the city we had taken by train or subway. Even we have taken a bullet train to Osaka. A convenience store below the hotel was really good. Staff are very helpful. Lounge is very nice. We really enjoyed our stay in the hotel.

The best hotel experience! The room was small but had everything we needed- hot shower and bath, clean living space, water in the fridge, fresh pajamas, and working AC. The building lobby and front desk are very nice (The staff know limited English, enough to check us in but not enough to help with directions to the airport), and everything feels clean. The gym has limited equipment, I used the treadmill and floor mat for stretching. There is running along the river a short jog away. There is a 7 Eleven on the first floor we frequented multiple times a day, and don quiote and GU a block away. Honestly the location is so prime, right across the street from Kyoto station.

Would highly recommend to anyone coming to Kyoto!

Small little perfect hotel, we stayed in Superior Double room 511 with a 'city view' (overlooks the bus station / train station). No issues on street noise as soundproofing is good. Room already came with 4 pillows for 2 person stay, + complimentary bottled water.

While room seems small, layout makes use of most spaces, which is why the room can give you an ironing rack, safebox, sofa chair, coffee table, panasonic air purifier, luggage rack, a large window that opens out + 2 layers of window / blinds, working desk and chair, mini fridge, proper wardrobe, lighting control beside bed, built in usb outlets, medium sized bathtub (not the mini one), walk in shower with ceiling rainshower + handheld showerhead, toto washlet, hairdryer, all packed into a room that can allow 2 XL luggage to be opened. Water pressure / temp / control is very good, 5 star hotel grade.

Hotel is just next to Kyoto Station (Shinkansen / JR), although you need to go through B1 subway walkway to reach the hotel at level 1 (if reaching via train from kansai airport).

Reception / check in lobby on level 2 has free flow drinks (apple juice / pu er tea) / coffee machine, and also vending machine / microwave oven / ice machine on some floors. Same concept of free toiletries / amenities for DIY collection is next to reception. There is English speaking staff on hand as well. A 7-11 store is also at ground level of hotel.

There is a nearby farm-to-table style venison restaurant (Meat Up) 2min walk, Don Quijote, Isetan, Yodobashi Camera, Kyoto Tower Sando all within 3 - 5min walk. Train station is <5min walk.

A great base for couples to start your Kyoto city exploration for first couple of days, high value hotel chain and consistent hotel service.

Just note there does not seem to be a proper dropoff point for the hotel guests, especially for taxi pick up / when raining.

Exceptionally clean, high quality amenities, excellent location

Room and toilet were well-maintained and clean throughout our 3-night stay. Especially surprised by the thick fluffy towels that smell freshly-laundered and the thoughtful design of the shower area (separated from rest of toilet). Water pressure from the overhead shower was strong and modern Japanese toilet was comfortable.

Memorable amenities include - Kose skincare from reception, Stephen Knoll hair and bath products, strong hairdryer, great-smelling room/fabric spray, coffee machine at lobby.

Location was good as it was close to train station (that has many food and souvenir options), and there was a convenience store right downstairs. As it was not directly at the huge train station, it was easy to book cabs that can stop directly at hotel.

Staff were also patient and helpful to help us with reservations and luggage delivery.

It was a pity we did not get a chance to try the breakfast that included Japanese dishes as we missed the last entry time at 9.30am.

Would definitely stay here again!

Great hotel near Kyoto station. It’s fairly new so the building is modern and clean.

Facilities: there’s 3 elevators, which is more than most hotels of this price range. In the lobby, there’s a self-serve drinks machine that operates during most hours of the day up until the late evening. Unlimited, free matcha latte is something I’ve never valued more. Laundry machines are available on the 6th floor, though there’s only 3 of them. Thankfully, the TV in your room lets you see when they’re vacant and time remaining on each one. There’s also a fitness room, but given how much you walk in Japan, we never ended up using it. Like most other hotels, you can store your luggage with the staff on the same day for check-in and/or check-out, which helps with itinerary flexibility.

Rooms: larger than most business hotels with ample space to store and open your luggage. Light switches at the bedside let you control your room and bed lights separately to varying degrees. There’s a power outlet both next to the bed and on the desk. The washroom comes with both a shower and bathtub, which is pretty useful. The bed however is stiffer than those of other business hotel chains, but was able to sleep well all the same. Staff do a great job cleaning the rooms each day. No noise issues whatsoever despite being so close to Kyoto station.

Breakfast: they only have a breakfast buffet option. Pretty good selection that changes a bit from day to day in terms of cooked dishes, grilled fish, and salad options. Lots of variety as with most Japanese breakfast buffets (soups, okayu, grilled fish, salads, breads, granola and cereals, curry rice, desserts). Will get a bit boring after the 3rd day, but pretty decent overall.

Location: obviously quite convenient as you can see it from the front of Kyoto station. Big plus given how spread out all the landmarks are in Kyoto.

Fantastic hotel experience overall and would be happy to stay here again.

Location was great - very close to Kyoto Station and there was a 7-Eleven store right downstairs of the hotel

Amenities bar - love this concept where guests can help themselves to bath salts, hair ties, skincare/bodycare and more

I stayed at 2 Daiwa Roynet hotels during my trip to Japan and it is officially my favourite hotel chain

Had a great stay there during Feb 2023. It was within walking distance to the train station and has a 7eleven right below the hotel. Opt for breakfast and it was great! Food tastes great and we enjoyed watching the busy street while having our breakfast.

Our room had no view and was facing the opp building which is quite near. Do make request if you wish to have nicer view instead of stairways.

Love this hotel location ! It is situation just outside of Kyoto main station. Hotel breakfast spread is good and there is coffee machine/refreshment drink at the lobby itself. Room is clean and bed is comfortable. Overall good stay , would return to stay again. PS only one point to improve is probably the English speaking level of reception. It seemed that they can only speak little English which can be very difficult to communicate at times to check for Enquires.

Polite reception who are all ready to help you check in and answer whatever queries you might have. The gym is my favourite. It has three Threadmill. Comes with optional breakfast if you add in extra. Nice bathroom and everything seems so clean and nice! As the Kyoto station is large, please cater at least ten minutes extra if you are unfamiliar with The platform location

Had a great stay at this hotel. Everything is good, and there is nothing to complain about. Breakfast is simple but enough food selection for a good meal to start the day.

The rooms are comfy and the style is nice. The breakfast is really good. We could ask for an iron at no charge.
We attended an event after check out and could come and collect our bags from the hotel at no extra charge.
The location is SUPER CONVENIENT! It's right next to the Kyoto Station. If you use the bus from the Kansai International Airport to Kyoto Station, the last stop is right opposite the hotel. Would definitely come back.

Hotel is about 2-3 times more costly during the Sakura period. But that’s expected. The hotel is right across the Kyoto station, and very near the keihan highway bus terminal. So accessible particularly if you have luggages. Take note from the entrance it’s named Daiwa Roynet Premier Hotel.. there are amenities at the lobby, together with light refreshments. Room is slightly on the small side. Tip is to book the twin room - they seem to give you that extra space. Bathrooms are huge with both standing shower and bath tub. I particularly like that there’s a large 7-11 below the hotel with a side exit for hotel guests. There are a few shopping malls around the area, heaps of food options, and you can Uber eats if need be. Love the accessibility and cannot recommend it enough.

One of the best located hotels in Kyoto ! The Shinkansen station is just 2 minutes away. Not to mention the plethora of dining options available at Kyoto Station.

Price is very reasonable ! The rooms are spacious & clean. Designed nicely both interior and exterior design.

Would really recommend this hotel to those who are staying here in Kyoto.

This hotel is really near Kyoto Station. Seven Eleven is beside the entrance and connected to the hotel at the 1st floor so you didn't have to go outside to buy anything when self-quarantine. The hotel itself is nice and worth the price, unless you need to buy your food by yourself and you cannot use washing machine, smoking room, coin laundry, and vending machine because of the pandemic situation. Other than that, I really enjoy my 14-days stay here.

The location is superb…just diagonally across JR Kyoto and in front of the bus station that arrive and departs from Kansai International…rooms were clean and organized…size of room is reasonable for Japanese hotel..daily rate is also reasonable….check in and out is automated so everything is a breeze…and lastly…they have a 7-11 located inside the hotel building…so there’s no lack of accessibility for snacking or supper options

Cozy and warm-hearted experience at Kyoto! Very close (3-min walk) to the Kyoto Shingansen Station. Ideal place to stay for traveling/business.
Professional staff that speaks both English and Chinese (look for Mr. Chang from Taiwan 台灣張先生🇹🇼)
Definitely will come back and stay with them again! :)
