HOSTEL NINIROOM

Lovely hostel in a quieter part of Kyoto - perfect for us. Decent size rooms, large beds, cafe and kitchen downstairs, and rooftop garden. They have yoga mats that you can use anytime on the rooftop garden. The bathrooms are very nice and also clean. The showers have amazing pressure. They have complimentary body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, and also have hairdryers. Their shower mats are so innovative!

Only negative is the coffee - there is no free coffee and their soy lattes cost 550yen - I had two while I was there, one was barely warm and the other tasted burnt and watery.

Loved the bike hire service - this made my stay. Make sure to book the bikes in advance as they do sell out.

I highly recommend staying at Niniroom if you are in Kyoto. The hospitality of the staff and the atmosphere of the place makes the stay much more enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious for only 700 yen. I wanted to make a change and stay a few more days and they had no problem and found a place for me.

People always make the place twice as good as it already is. Rumi-san and Itsko-san were so warm and friendly - I leave with fond memories thanks in part to them.

The hostel itself is located in a beautiful area. Just a short walk from the river, more restaurants than you can try in one visit and the city centre! The rooms are cozy and the lounge is warm and inviting. Highly recommend if you are in Kyoto.

We had an amazing day in Niniroom, the receptionist helped us at all times, prepared a delicious coffee for us, and we rented the bikes to go around the city which was super accurate! I’d definitely recommend it. Thank you!

I stayed at hostel Niniroom in a private room for just over 2 weeks. The room was comfortable and the loft bed meant you had a lot more floor space. Only downside for my room in particular was the fact that there was only a very small window so hardly any natural lighting. The common spaces were always clean, with free amenities like toothbrushes etc on offer. The people were very friendly and accomodating, and the coffees were the best! Rumi, the manager, was super helpful too with helping me extend my stay for a couple nights. Overall a fantastic experience, and I would definitely stay here again in future : )

Very good stay at Niniroom. Staff was very friendly, at the reception there is a nice little cafe and we explored Kyoto by renting their food quality bikes. Gave us good recommendations and they helped us out when we had some issues with the AC.

Perfect budget hostel. I stayed there for 6 nights on a double-bed room. The hotel is located nicely.. within walking distance to 7-Eleven, shrines, Kawabata Park, Kyoto Imperial Castle, Kyoto University, and the subway. If you visit around March-April, the Kawabata Park would be a very nice alternative to the Philosopher's path. The price I think is very competitive. It has clean bathrooms, coin-dryer, coin-laundry, and a nice simple cafe at the lobby. The mattress was nice and the sleep was great since it's located in quiet environment. They also rent some bicycles. The staffs are friendly, speak English, and helpful.

Had a great stay here! Was Welcomed with big smiles. Rooms are very clean! Common bathroom was very well maintained.
The staff are exceptional - they let me keep my bags and even allowed to take a quick shower before heading to the airport.

I’m so glad of staying in this hotel. The location is close to beautiful river and many cafes. The city center is also in walkable distance. Hosts were very kind and supportive to all my needs.

Super nice vibe. Clean! Service was friendly and we felt very welcome. Perfect location as well. We really enjoyed our stay here. Would definitely recommend. One small thing to note. Our bed was a bit squeaky which is okay but apparently the walls are thin but we didn't really notice :) a nice thing to do is the recommended tour of the hostel! We came across great places in the neighbourhood

Such a fantastic hostel / hotel in Kyoto! Tucked away in a residential area. The design and facilities are great and so are the staff. NiNiroom has such character, each room is designed differently and the whole place is so quirky and spotlessly clean. You can relax downstairs where it feels like a retro loft apartment, and there is a kitchen and laundry facilities that everyone can use.

I wish I could have stayed for longer!

I stayed only one night in this hotel and I find it very nice and cozy. The two ladies who take care of the hotel are welcoming and kind, they inform well about the fact that the hotel has just been renovated and that the noises resonate. During my night I did not hear anything. My room was a private room with a double bed, desk, chair and mirror. Enough for one person. The showers and toilets are shared and are modern and very clean. In the morning it is possible to have breakfast, which I did and I did not regret it. I strongly recommend this hotel for a stay in Kyoto (15 min walk from Kyoto University)

I stayed in here for two days to attend an examination. I have to say it's a perfect experience for me, room is clean, homeowner is nice, bathroom is big and clean.
If u want a short stay in Kyoto, here might be one of the best choice.

I stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed it. It is a spotlessly clean place that has amazing bathrooms and an excellent kitchen and lounge area. Everything is so well thought out and the staff are super friendly. The location is quiet but fairly close to the CBD and sights. Would recommend to anyone traveling or even attending a conference (like I was).

I cannot say enough nice things about this hostel! All of the staff are incredibly kind and fun. The beds are traditional Japanese futons which are great, they have yoga on Sunday’s. The breakfast is also great value for money. The showers are the nicest I’ve ever used in a hostel and they also have a bathtub you can reserve. We stayed here for 5 nights. All in all, it feels more like a hotel than a hostel. Such a great stay! Also love that this place started from crowd funding.

Highly recommend. Stylish (industrial chic with a Japanese twist) decent sized rooms for a great price. Two very friendly sisters own the place, and make it welcoming. They care deeply about decor and living conditions, and it shows! Bathrooms are high quality. Best part is since it is new it is going to keep improving!

My stay in the hostel was very pleasant and comfortable. Its location is also very comfortable for guests of Kyoto. The staff have created a nice family atmosphere. I will be really glad to return back to this lovely place. Greeting to everyone!
