Great location! Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Umbrellas, teas, coffee and toiletries are provided at the lobby. Great breakfast and environment. Room has a bit of dust, but clean otherwise. My husband enjoyed the bathtub experience and love all the nice smelling soaps! I will go back when I visit Kyoto again.

Overall the experience we had at Cross hotel was very good. The location was perfect. It’s very convenient to walk to a lot of places around town. The room was clean and sufficient except for the toilet paper was non- disposal which made it a little inconvenient. The staff were friendly and helpful. Mr. Eito Kawasaki with the concierge service was wonderful and friendly in helping us with our needs for restaurant reservations and directions.

Spent 3 nights here during the time we were in Kyoto and the location is superb. It’s really conveniently located and you can walk to the department stores/malls, as well as nishiki market and gion. The check in/check out process was also really smooth and hassle free

We thought the room was a pretty decent size and we were able to open both our big suitcases. The shower was also great but we noticed the sink tap had extremely low water flow whenever we switched it to hot water

Overall, a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it

We really enjoyed our stay here! Spent 4 nights in a Deluxe King room. The hotel is located in a great area-lots of restaurants, shopping, and station nearby. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. Coffee and tea station located in the lobby. Self check-in/check-out kiosks.

Excellent hotel, with an amazing staff and beautiful lobby. I just loved how the staff went out above and beyond to help and serve the customers.
The rooms are great, even though mine was on the smaller side. Still, I slept very well. The only criticism is that the carpet was focally stained.

We stayed 3 nights here in March 2024. Wonderful location and beautiful hotel including lobby, restaurant. Breakfast buffet was great. Easy walk to Nishika market. The room was nice although a bit cramped for 3 people. We loved the staff who were so helpful, especially when we lost luggage on the train as they helped us get it back. We would definitely stay again!

Cross Hotel was absolutely superb. From the time we inquired to make our booking, communication was excellent - always prompt and responsive (thank you Marion and others). The staff at the Hotel were all so friendly, helpful and cheerful - we would mention in particular Haruna-San, Takaki-San and Horio-San but really everyone was wonderful. The rooms were nice, quiet and spacious (we stayed on the 9th Floor) - water temperature and pressure in the bathroom was superb, we appreciated the separate toilet area and automated WC, WiFi was strong and the bed was comfortable. We couldn't have asked for more. The location of the Hotel is also perfect and there are many good restaurants to choose from near the Hotel (we appreciated the tips given to us by the Hotel such as Katsukura Sanjo Hoten - there can be long queues after 6pm but the food is delicious at Katsukura - and Soba Togato). In a nutshell, we will not hesitate to recommend Cross Hotel to our friends and family who are visiting Kyoto and we will only stay here again on our next visit! Arigatōgozaimasu

This is my 2nd time in Kyoto, and I am so happy i found this hotel for my future visits! I would think it would be a 4 star hotel!

Location : I love the location because it is in walking distance from the main shopping area as well as the tourist must see (eg gion, pontocho alley)! What i like about it most is that the hotel is located at the tail end of the bustling streets, so it is generally quieter there with lesser crowds.

Rooms: We book the (Deluxe King Room - Non-Smoking) and the size of the room is perfect and much bigger than most hotels we went to in Japan. They have 2 cute chairs for yall to rest beside the bed and the area in front of the bed is more than ample! What really wow me was the little dressing table they have near the toilet because rooms in japan are generally so small, there is always no place for me to do my makeup properly so i really appreciate this little thought put in to the design of the room.

Toilets: I like that the toilet area is separated from the bathing area which keeps the toilet bowl area dry at all times. The hot water comes real quick and for someone who love bathing in really hot water, this is perfect.

Cleanliness : Very clean room for someone who is very OCD. Even the corners of the headboard of the bed is clean with no dust! Toilets are very clean and big too!

Service : The checking in process is the first i have encountered where you check in using a machine - it is probably not as fuss free as if someone attended to you over the counter but i think once you are used to the machine check in (very much like in airports), then it can actually be quite seamless.

Note: They have a counter where you can take the required toiletries for your needs which is great ! They also have 3 types of cleaning options which is magnetic and so you just have to paste it on ur door before leaving!

I will definitely book this hotel again in my next visit!

I love their breakfast the most! 😍 The hotel is brand new with a modern design. ✨ The rooms are a decent size for a Japanese hotel. 👍 The location is also great, just one block away from the beautiful Gamo River. 🏞 #travel #vacation #Japan #Kyoto

Room size is decent. Clean rooms, nice deep bath tub. Bed and pillow are very comfortable, something I read in other reviews before booking an can confirm. Central location. Would consider booking again next trip.

We stayed at the Cross Hotel Kyoto for 8 nights as part of a 50th Wedding Anniversary vacation. We were very pleased with the service and congeniality offered by the staff at the Cross Hotel Kyoto. The accommodations were excellent and the location ideal for sightseeing. The breakfast buffet is excellent--offering a wide variety of delicious options. We would not hesitate to stay at the Cross Hotel again should we visit Kyoto in the future--nor should you!

I really love the interior design. Rooms are large with separated toilet, shower area and sink. Really comfortable beds. When I was in the lobby I heard other customers being asked to pay extra since they booked for wrong number of people so check that you choose right number of people when booking.

Exceptionally practical and elegant room design. Compact yet had everything I wanted, including heated toilet seat. I personally didn't like having the shower and bath divided in the same room (just prefer a shower) but that's the Japanese way.

Digital check in booths with multiple languages including English.

Easy walking to tons of interesting shops and food.

Definitely get an upgraded deluxe large double room which is what we are basing our rating on, which made our stay very comfortable. It was large for Japanese standards and decent value - not cheap by any standard and the hotel doesn't have a gym or smart TV that you can cast too but apart from that it was an excellent place to base ourselves in Kyoto. Lots of wardrobe space, big bathroom, separate toilet, spacious seating area and the hotel is so centrally located. Breakfast was good, staff across hotel were friendly and helpful. We stayed during a long weekend /public holiday so it worked out to be around $460 AUD a night, agree with previous ratings that this is closer to a 4 star hotel, would stay here if you want convenience of location and space. Also beds were super comfortable!

Location of the hotel defines city experience, so if you want to wonder empty streets of Kyoto early morning, this hotel is located just perfect. Room was spacious enough, and staff kindly put my Amazon packages right in my room! Bathroom is Onsen style, it’s nice experience too. My main disappointment was the doors, as they are slide doors and can be pretty loud at night (when all the family sleeps). It’s a good hotel, worth visiting!

We stayed there for 3 nights and our experience was absolutely incredible. Everything was perfect from staff (recommended a few places in Kyoto worth visiting), spacious and super stylished room and delicious breakfast. I also have to mention their approach towards sustainability (not giving their guests amenity kits automatically in the room but you can take at the reception stuff you only need such as haircomb, cotton pads, toothbrush etc.) Location was superb, just around the corner from Geisha district and many restaurants and shopping facilities. Hope to be back very soon. 💯 % recommend staying there! ❤

What a fantastic hotel. Modern, clean, with great sized rooms, that caters for bath and shower lovers with a walk in wet room and separate toilet.

If we are ever back in Kyoto we will stay here 10/10

we spent 2 nights at the Cross Hotel, and were very happy with the stay. Very stylish hotel, all still looking very new, excellent breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. Best hotel by far of 5 in the same price category we stayed in during our trip. Would love to return

An upscale experience at a great location in Kyoto at a great value. The rooms are comfy, quiet, and pretty spacious for the area, the service is friendly and attentive, and you're a short walk from a lot of great restaurants, nightlife, and culture. Really enjoying our stay so far.

We stayed in Cross Hotel for 3 nights out of 15 days Japan trip and it was the best hotel experience by far. My children rated this hotel 5 out of 5 and it has become their most favorite hotel. We love the size of the room and its layout, the cleanliness, complimentary cofee and tea service at the lobby (children referred it as ‘tea party’). Lounge area has lovely ambience looking out a serene Japanese garden. Fast and easy check-in/check-out process. Location is superb, near bus stop 205 to kyoto station and close to Nishiki market, Teramachidori shopping arcade, Gion, Pontocho, Higashiyama sightseeing areas. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Hotel provides umbrellas for its guests during rainy days. The staff members are all very courteous and very very helpful especially the housekeeping lady from Phillipine who tried her best to assist me. We do not need 5 star hotel when all 5 star quality are located in this hotel :).
